FBI Director James Comey was back on the Hill Wednesday, testifying for close to four hours about Russian hacking interference in last year’s election and saying minimal about the ongoing FBI investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia. He did however acknowledge totally and fully, “It was Russia.” The Washington Post reports, “The FBI has concluded that Russian intelligence hacked into Democratic computer systems and email accounts, stealing information that was published by WikiLeaks during the campaign.” In response to an excellent question by Senator Lindsey Graham, Comey conceded, “Certainly, in my view, the greatest threat of any nation on Earth, given their intention and their capability,” according to CNBC. That should end discussion until the president lies again about that basic fact.  Comey also “warned of the impact of Wikileaks and said Russia is still attempting to influence U.S. elections,” according to NBC News. He also called WikiLeaks “intelligence porn,” describing the shadowy organization of Julian Assange and Sarah Harrison as one “that simply pushes out information with no regard to how it’s used,” which is not the most direct line nor accurate line of attack on the heels of the allegedly unintended consequences of his own decision to send a letter to Congress declaring the investigation into Hillary’s e-mails open again just a week before the election. Finally, “He also warned that Russia will likely attempt the same types of interference in the 2018 midterm elections,” because of course they will, they are winning. Oh and Obama never wiretapped Trump tower either, shock!

The Washington Post reports, “Hillary Clinton emerged from political hibernation Tuesday by declaring herself ‘part of the resistance’ to Donald Trump’s presidency — and spreading blame for why it is not her sitting in the Oval Office.” She was speaking in New York with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. Clinton said at the event, “I was on the way to winning until the combination of Jim Comey’s letter on October 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me but got scared off — and the evidence for that intervening event is, I think, compelling [and] persuasive”. That’s a pretty damning statement even if you want to talk about all the things she did wrong as if they are in any way relevant to our contemporary real problems of a Russian mafia state cancer on our state, because all we talk about here at TRUMPISTAN WATCH is Trump and Russia and Hillary is not Trump, nor is she the president. But she is a former First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State so she knows people and they know things. Maybe you should bite your Hillary hating tongue and listen because this is important. Yeah I know but Michigan, Pennsylavnia, Wisconsin and Bernie. One of those things is not like the other and we don’t need to go there now because focus on Trump and Russia, please! Back to hate watching what’s actually happening to our country as opposed to the sideshow. Now let’s tease the enemy traitor. “Remember,” Clinton said, “I did win more than 3 million votes [more] than my opponent.”

Reuters reports, “An influential group of Republican and Democratic U.S. senators will file sweeping legislation on Wednesday to address the crisis in Venezuela, including sanctioning individuals responsible for undermining democracy or involved in corruption, Senate aides said.” One key part of the legislation as far as TRUMPISTAN WATCH is concerned, “calls on President Donald Trump to take all necessary steps to prevent Rosneft, Russia’s state oil company, from gaining control of any U.S. energy infrastructure.” Reuters reports, “Rosneft has been gaining ground in Venezuela as the country scrambles for cash. The Venezuelan state oil company, PDVSA, last year used 49.9 percent of its shares in its U.S. subsidiary, Citgo, as collateral for loan financing by Rosneft,” noting “In total, Rosneft has lent PDVSA between $4 billion and $5 billion.” Senators Marco Rubio and Ben Cardin, the ranking members of the Senate foreign relations committee, are the lead sponsors of the legislation. But as the Senate is all about seniority, Reuters notes, “Boosting its chances of getting through Congress, co-sponsors include Senator John Cornyn, the chamber’s No. 2 Republican, and Senator Dick Durbin, the No. 2 Democrat, as well as Republican Senator John McCain, the influential chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.” That is because defeating Russia is not partisan any more, it is about taking back our country, but for real this time, from the Russian mafia cancer on our state. Also Citgo appears to have hired a firm linked to Corey Lewandowski for their lobbying effort but as per standard operating procedure with anyone attached to Trump, he denies ever knowing anything because oh my god, they are all innocent victims of a vast left-wing conspiracy.

Russia Beyond the Headlines reports, “The Regional Court of Kirov (791 km northeast of Moscow) has upheld the embezzlement verdict for politician Alexei Navalny, head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, dismissing his appeal. In accordance with the verdict, Navalny receives a five-year suspended sentence.” Having been found guilty means he is ineligible for the presidency next year due to Russia’s penal code. Of course, “Navalny and his supporters often stressed that the case is political, but representatives of the Russian government deny this.” Cat and mouse. And the show must go on, so his campaign continues.

Moscow Marine, whose National Front party is entirely sponsored by dirty Russian money loans, represented the nation menacing all of Europe and the West at last night’s debate against centrist Emmanuel Macron. Many are growing increasingly worried that the French may sleepwalk into a similar fate as America did. The debate’s tenor sounds much like the reality trash and fear tactics Trump brought to the stage of last year’s debates certainly. Moscow Marine worked hard to make it seem like all Macron did on that stage was say “allahu akbar,” fortunately the French may not agree. Among the topics discussed were “Europe, terrorism, France’s stagnant economy, Russia”. Russia would not even be a topic if it did not buy itself into France’s 99 problems or help create ISIS through their client state in Syria’s butcher Assad. Vive la France!

CNN reports, “Susan Rice, President Barack Obama’s former national security adviser, on Wednesday declined Sen. Lindsey Graham’s request to participate in a judiciary subcommittee hearing next week on Russian interference in the US election”. Interestingly, she cites Trump’s bogus wiretap claim indirectly, “Rice considered the invitation a ‘diversionary play’ to distract attention from the investigation into Russian election interference, including contacts between Trump allies and Russians during the campaign,” according to a CNN source.

Russian Order of Friendship medal recipient and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, a walking, acting, living, breathing active measure, expressed concern about how his department and indeed our nation are not treating his friends in the Russian mafia state. It’s a major problem if you are already super rich and don’t give a shit about your nation and want to be even richer and screw over your nation’s foreign policy. What’s wrong with us that we don’t want to abandon our foreign policy, sovereignty and freedoms so T Rex can be just a little bit richer? Evidently T Rex’s idea of a “listening tour,” is everything it was expected to be if you know corporate America because it is beginning with the big boss spouting bullshit about the corporate mission that is irrelevant to most everyone’s lives in any positive sense. According to The Washington Post, “The United States and Russia have ‘almost no trust between us’ and the relationship between the two countries is getting worse, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Wednesday.” No, Rex, they are dragging us through the sewer and our Secretary of State is a giant stinker. We need to take back our state, expel Tillerson from State and then begin to pressure Russia with the full weight of our state, not lament the lack of trust. Does Tillerson care about U.S. foreign policy at all when he spouts off bullshit like “we can begin to build a way where we can learn how to work together”? Um, no. We will never be friends with the Russian mafia state, but they can continue to fund collaborators like Rex, a true friend of Vlad and no friend of the American people and our domestic sovereignty. Recall: the next generation wants a future worth living!

The Jamestown Foundation’s Eurasia Daily Monitor reports, “In early April 2017, the Latvian Ministry of Defense’s (MoD) Parliamentary Secretary Andrejs Panteļējevs publicly announced the country was returning to the concept of total or ‘comprehensive’ defense, which it had abandoned after joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Latvia will maintain the strategy of total defense over the long term, Panteļējevs declared, and he conclusively rejected the idea of returning to a system of conscription (LA.lv, April 4).” Adding, “The Latvian defense ministry emphasizes the need to enhance direct public involvement in order to strengthen national security.” There is also a bit of worst case scenario prepping of the population as “In advocating ‘defense lessons’ in the high schools, Defense Minister Raimonds Bergmanis has argued that the country’s national defense doctrine requires each Latvian resident to know what to do in case of a crisis.” Given how existential the threat and how terrible Latvia’s history with violent, savage, murderous Soviet occupation, Bergmanis said, “We encourage a paradigm shift in thinking on national defense—[from] the idea that only a weapon in the hands of a Latvian soldier or Allied forces can protect the country, to [an understanding] that every patriot of this country can also make an invaluable contribution to the national defense”. Beyond crisis and patriotism lessons, the practical implication is that “The concept of total defense also relies on a country’s efficient economic mobilization during war time and the involvement of domestic entrepreneurs in helping to achieve specific priorities related to national security.”

Russia Beyond the Headlines reports on the latest Levada Center poll concerning next year’s “election” in Russia. They find 48 percent of Russian citizens would vote for sad, pathetic VladIf the Russian presidential elections were held over the upcoming weekend instead of March 2018”. Not great poll numbers in a post-Soviet state where the threshold for basic fraudulent legitimacy is usually well into the seventy percent mark. The poll found “(one percent) are ready to vote for Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, and opposition figure Alexei Navalny”. Make sure you read the section “The Secrets of His Popularity” – very relevant implications here in the U.S. anyways.

Reuters reports, “Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson soon to try to pave the way for a summit between President Vladimir Putin and his U.S counterpart Donald Trump, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Thursday,” through spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, who is no expert on the detention, abuse, torture and disappearance of gay Chechens. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is leaning heavily on Russia’s imagined reclaimed status as a superpower as opposed to a nasty aggressor on its way into the gutter delivering a strong uppercut to its eternal boogeyman. According to Reuters, “Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday that the Finnish capital Helsinki would be an appropriate venue for a possible meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, should such a meeting be proposed by Washington.” No, no it should not get to work like this. Russia does not get to propose the terms after everything it has done. Stand down, Lavrov.

According to The Hill, “Pamela Anderson is sharing a note she says she received from Melania Trump that encourages ‘more women to stand up for their beliefs.’” WHAT!?! The belief Pamela claims to have in her undying love for WikiLeaks nutter Julian Assange that has led to widespread speculation that she is a Russian intelligence asset now too as the old KGB has a long history of making sure it’s assets, i.e. Assange, are, well, serviced. Evidently, “The message from the first lady was a thank you for a gift Anderson had sent months earlier.” Um, ok!? No, no, not at all. This is messed up, like any time Trump calls Alex Jones or his son says pizza-gate truther Mike Cernovich deserves a Pulitzer because these people are running disinformation campaigns that are detrimental to Western democracies.

What does everyone who reads TRUMPISTAN WATCH know about Chicago by now? Chicago does resistance right! Whether it’s introducing such slogans as “days of rage” or “the world is watching” into the protest lexicon, or building solutions to block the unseemly corruption of the past, if only for a day and to give our fellow citizens breathing room and amusement, we oblige. Well, as many of you may be aware our führer is very aggrieved by the murder rate here because we also shut down his rally and humiliated him, notably when the local paper caught suburban children of real German Nazis doing sig heils outside the University of Illinois Chicago arena where Trump was to speak. The orange lunatic also has an enormous building here right on the river where he constructed multi-story letters of his name on the edifice that destroy the views for miles when walking north on Wabash Street, as well as the view of the riverfront. Everything about this man is a pig, so why not obstruct the giant white whale of a sign with floating golden pigs? Designer and architects with New World Design have created “an installation of four golden flying pigs directly in front of the Trump sign.” The Architects Newspaper reports, “The helium-filled balloons will then be floated, single file, from a construction barge in the Chicago River at just such a height to obscure the 20-foot-by-141-foot Trump sign. The single day installation will be launched in late August or early September.” Check out the visuals and be inspired. TRUMPISTAN WATCH wishes this stayed up every day all day until it stops.

Hürriyet Daily News has a piece on how European policy towards their authoritarian state should be based on engagement over sanctions. In examining the secular daughter of an AK Party supporting family, “we are to recall that there is no rational voter, or that some voters may resort to a specifically different rationality”.  The outrage news cycle means, “From the perspective of a European journalist, Erdoğan is certainly a ‘news treasure.’ Every day he comes up with new material. And it is only normal for him to get negative coverage.” The rest of the world needs to engage, not just the EU however as “Sanctions will not get journalists, academics or others deprived of their liberty because of their dissenting views out of prison. On the contrary, strong engagement between the EU and Turkey – including opening accession chapters, especially on democracy and freedoms – will help journalists fighting for democratic consolidation in the country.”
