Activist Andrea Chalupa posted on her Facebook page, “Are you in NYC? Join me this Saturday 9am to 11am on Foley Square to #MarchForTruth and hear powerful speakers like Timothy Snyder and a special performance by Javier Muñoz, the star of Hamilton on Broadway!” The resistance is strong and that sounds like a great Saturday morning. If you cannot be in New York, find a March for Truth near you and read Timothy Snyder’s Twenty Lessons in Tyranny from the Twentieth Century.

Butter your popcorn as they say when they are white, comfortable and usually male in America, Sunday night is set to feature some pretty vommy gross normalization of sad little man Putin when Megyn Kelly does Moscow! Seriously cannot make this up but Daily Mail is all about “her big night out, “ when “Kelly opted to wear a $990 blue velvet dress from Yigal Azrouel that was off-the-shoulder and featured a large slit. She paired the look with some massive velvet pumps and an oversized gold ring, while painting her toenails black for the occasion.” Sorry, excuse moi? The fucking what? Evidently “The pair were photographed chatting together at a dinner being held at the Konstantin Palace, a conversation that Kelly revealed would be aired later that day on NBC.” This is the network that normalized Trump with “The Apprentice” and this is Megyn Kelly’s crossover from crowing at Fox News for over a decade under Roger (sex predator) Ailes, who was protected from women for over a decade by the network which paid out enormous sums to keep women quiet. Evidently during a preview of the spectacular about the spy from St. Petersburg that aired on “The Today Show,” she “got a warm welcome from ‘Today’ anchors Savannah Guthrie, Matt Lauer and Hoda Kotb back in New York, and returned their greeting with some cheerful thanks, telling Lauer and Guthrie how happy she was to be part of the team.” How do we make all these people go away or do we literally have to wait for our Nuremberg Trial equivalent? That’s “Dancing With The Stars” and if botox and fillers face (Putin) goes on that, my god America, you know it is all over but like really and for real over. NEVER SAY YOU WERE NOT WARNED.

POLITICO reports, “Former FBI Director James Comey will testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, June 8, regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election, committee leaders announced on Thursday.” It should be a ratings blockbuster and make Twitler furious as “The hearing will be one of the most highly anticipated events on Capitol Hill in years, after President Donald Trump suddenly fired Comey in May”. It is also a coming out of sorts as “Comey’s appearance will be the first since his firing.” As The Washington Post teases, “Now, Comey has a chance to tell his side of his story — and try to clear his name.” Yes, this is really the futureless days of our lives. And remember, as The Washington Post puts it, when “Trump reacts to controversy, it’s that when he’s poked by a stick, he swings back with the forest.” But Comey is an all-star as The Washington Post reminds us, “Comey is good at Congressional testimony. Really good.” Or should we call it a homecoming?

The Guardian reports, “Nigel Farage,” the former leader of the U.K. Independence Party and the most outspoken campaigner in favor of Brexit who was caught earlier this year exiting WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange residence, the Ecuadorean Embassy in London, “is a ‘person of interest’ in the US counter-intelligence investigation that is looking into possible collusion between the Kremlin and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign”. According to The Guardian, “Farage has not been accused of wrongdoing and is not a suspect or a target of the US investigation. But being a person of interest means investigators believe he may have information about the acts that are under investigation and he may therefore be subject to their scrutiny.” Farage was of course photographed in front of golden elevator doors at Trump Tower shortly after the November 9 coup, and has further ties to Roger Stone. A spokesman for Farage denies he has ever been to Moscow, but it is not as if there is no dirty Russian money that has invaded London. Let’s get real.

Bloomberg reports, “President Vladimir Putin compared Russian hackers to free-spirited ‘artists,’ saying they may just be people who wake up one morning, see how their homeland is being maligned in the foreign press and decide to take matters into their own hands.” They even might be “patriotic,” Putin declares. The basic contours of Russian denial are: stage 1, deny; stage 2, make a small concession of the existence of the possibility; stage 3, blame some undesirable minority or faction within society; stage 4, concede it occurred but really not such a big deal. This concession of possibility moves the Kremlin from stage one to stage two of customary Russian disinformation stages of denial. This concession of stage two denial also came with customary accusations of Russophobia, a non-existent form of hysteria the fear of which lurks in the echelons of power in Russia and resides nowhere else.

The AP reports, “Thousands of troops from NATO and its partner nations are training on land and sea in central and eastern Europe Thursday, in two major exercises that aim to demonstrate their cooperation and rapid response capabilities at a time when the region feels threatened by Russia.” According to AP, “Around 4,000 U.S. and European troops from 14 nations took part in the annual Baltic Operations navy exercise that opened Thursday in Poland’s Baltic Sea port of Szczecin. The 45th edition of the so-called BALTOPS exercise involves maritime, air and ground forces with about 50 ships and submarines and over 50 aircraft, and will run through June 16.” Troops participating come from “Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Norway, Britain, Sweden and host nation Poland,” according to AP. Also “In Romania, meanwhile, another 2,000 soldiers, 1,000 assistance personnel and 500 vehicles from 11 NATO nations are training within the alliance’s so-called ‘Noble Jump 2017’ drill that opened in Greece Monday.” In the Romanian drills, troops from Albania, Britain, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania and Spain will participate.

Reuters reports, “Russia’s top oil producer Rosneft will get 70,000 barrels per day of oil exports this year from Venezuela under a loan deal involving U.S. firm Citgo, Venezuelan oil minister Nelson Martinez said on Friday.” Yes, this is really happening. Martinez “also said at an economic forum in St Petersburg that Venezuela’s state oil company PDVSA has been discussing five new joint projects with Rosneft, including Petropiar, and is hoping to clinch the deals soon.” In essence the quick background on this post-November 9 coup deal is that “Citgo was put up as collateral in a Rosneft deal with PDVSA. The firm is the U.S. refining and marketing unit of PDVSA.”

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports on how just like a real superpower, the Kremlin can be crushed by politically engaged youth! So great is the fear in the Kremlin of de facto opposition leader Alexey Navalny that “Moscow authorities have rejected opposition leader Aleksei Navalny’s request to hold an anticorruption march and rally in the heart of Moscow on June 12,” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.

Gary Cohn, the president’s economic advisor, and H.R. McMaster, the National Security Advisor, wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal. What did it achieve? According to The Washington Post’s Dan DreznerTo their credit, they managed to avoid the kind of North Korean-level cheerleading that has plagued this White House as of late.” However, “They did, however, engage in quite a bit of revisionist history of what happened on the trip. They praised Trump for ‘reconfirming America’s commitment to NATO and Article 5,’ which is a wee bit odd, since the consensus is that Trump did not confirm anything on Article V.” Dereliction of duty much?

BuzzFeed reports, “A pro-Trump journalist,” and Kremlin proxy who has a regular string of appearances she makes on Russian state-run RT named Cassandra Fairbanks, who also shares an address with a home once associated with RusInfoService’s Denis Klimentov, “and political activist,” so RusInfoService disinformation operative, “sued a Fusion reporter in federal court in Washington, D.C. Thursday, the most serious action yet in the emerging conflict between mainstream news outlets and the insurgent conservative media that has set up shop in the nation’s capital.” Oh look, Russian proxies are being used to intimidate the media through existing legal channels! Is anyone surprised here? According to BuzzFeed, “In the complaint, shared with BuzzFeed News, lawyers for Cassandra Fairbanks allege that Emma Roller, the Fusion journalist, defamed their client when she tweeted an image of Fairbanks at the White House making what Roller claimed in a caption is a ‘white power hand gesture.’” BuzzFeed also posted the lawsuit. TRUMPISTAN WATCH called this gesture she made a gang sign. We have not been sued because TRUMPISTAN WATCH grew up in Chicago and knows what a gang sign looks like when we see it. To imbue it with meaning is to misunderstand the utility and history of gang signs which are about identification and the meaning of which can change and evolve over time. What means white power in one instance can have a very different meaning or justification for usage to other members or in other times. (As an aside, Jeff Fort, who emerged as leader of the Black P Stone Nation gang in Chicago, later said after a 1970s conversion to Islam in prison that the “Black Stone” could be attributed to the Kaaba in Mecca, but in fact its for a South Side street called Blackstone.)
