CNN reports, “Two of the nation’s top intelligence officials told Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team and Senate investigators, in separate meetings last week, that President Donald Trump suggested they say publicly there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russians,” citing multiple officials. According to these officials, “Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers described their interactions with the President about the Russia investigation as odd and uncomfortable, but said they did not believe the President gave them orders to interfere,” CNN reports. Recall this is more than either Coats or Rogers were willing to disclose during public testimony before Congress earlier this month. According to CNN, “Both men told Mueller’s team they were surprised the President would suggest that they publicly declare he was not involved in collusion, sources said.”

The Washington Post reports, “People connected to the Russian government tried to hack election-related computer systems in 21 states, a Department of Homeland Security official testified Wednesday.” According to The Washington Post, “Samuel Liles, the Department of Homeland Security’s acting director of the Office of Intelligence and Analysis Cyber Division, said vote-tallying mechanisms were unaffected and that the hackers appeared to be scanning for vulnerabilities”. The Washington Post notes, “testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee,” Liles’ “remarks add some clarity to the breadth of the Kremlin’s cyber mischief. Officials in Arizona and Illinois had previously confirmed that hackers targeted their voter registration system, though news reports suggested the Russian effort was much broader.”

The AP reports, “The House Intelligence committee heard former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson from the Obama administration say that the high-tech intrusion did not change ballots, the final count or the reporting of election results.” Johnson said, “In 2016 the Russian government, at the direction of (President) Vladimir Putin himself, orchestrated cyberattacks on our nation for the purpose of influencing our election — plain and simple”. Johnson did add the important caveat later, “To my current knowledge,” suggesting we might learn more in time.

From the AP.

The Hill reports, “Former President Obama’s Homeland Security secretary on Wednesday defended his response to Russian interference in the 2016 election, arguing the last administration’s careful characterization was intended to ensure it was not seen as taking sides in a political fight.”  Accordingly, “Former Secretary Jeh Johnson denied that there was any ‘delay’ in informing the American people of Russian meddling when he and former National Intelligence Director James Clapper on Oct. 7 said the theft and release of the Democratic National Committee emails were part of a widespread campaign ‘intended to interfere with the U.S. election process.’” And of course, “It was not until January that the Obama administration issued a separate declassified intelligence report”. Johnson said, “There was an ongoing election, and many would criticize us for perhaps taking sides in the election, so that had to be carefully considered”. This is called covering one’s ass for an inability to understand that Obama’s red lines were bullshit and Russia only responds to pain; bullies do not respond as you want them to when you allow yourself to be repeatedly punched. Trump is a problem but the initial problem was Obama’s do nothing approach to most everything he did not want to deal with whilst basking in the glow of his own celebrity. It also seems they cowered in the face of Trump’s repeated claims that the election would be rigged. Shameful.

Vox reports Bill Priestap, the FBI’s assistant director of its counterintelligence division, “told the Senate Intelligence Committee that Russia had mounted a sophisticated effort to undermine public confidence in the election — and to specifically hurt Hillary Clinton and help Trump.” Priestap said, “I think the primary goal, in my mind, was to sow discord, and to try to delegitimize our free and fair election process,” adding, “I also think another of their goals, which the entire United States intelligence community stands behind, was to denigrate Secretary Clinton and to try to help then — current President Trump.”

The Hill reports, “Bipartisan House leaders have introduced a measure reaffirming the U.S. commitment to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s mutual defense clause after President Trump declined to do so in a speech abroad last month,” adding “including House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-Calif.), unveiled the resolution on Wednesday.” Co-sponsors also include “House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), the top Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee”. This is all a result of traitor trash Trump’s shameful NATO mini-summit appearance in Brussels last month when he scolded allies on behalf of his benefactors Russia and “declined to explicitly endorse NATO’s Article 5, which states that a threat to one member nation is a threat to all.” Sorry Russia if there was a dream of breaking the U.S. and NATO, history is not going to go down as Russia wants it written, not sorry.

The Daily Beast reports, “The inflammatory pundit,” who is also Trump’s counter-terrorism advisor, “Sebastian Gorka worked for the FBI while he was a paid consultant to Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, lecturing bureau employees on counterterrorism issues,” that is “Until the FBI terminated Gorka for his over-the-top Islamophobic rhetoric.” The Daily Beast adds, “the Federal Bureau of Investigation ended its contract with Gorka just months before he joined the White House as a senior adviser to President Trump.” According to The Daily Beast, “Gorka told attendees at the Joint Terrorism Operations Course, an introductory-level class for participants in the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, that all Muslims adhere to Sharia law, which he said is in conflict with the U.S. Constitution and American democratic values. Officials familiar with his lecture said Gorka taught law-enforcement officials there is no such thing as mainstream Muslimsonly those radicalized and those soon to be radicalized.” Later, “a senior FBI official assured outraged and embarrassed colleagues that the bureau would no longer use Gorka for any subsequent lectures or instructions,” The Daily Beast reports citing documents they obtained from an unspecified source. Begs the question, why was he even in this role in the first instance given his neo-Nazi affiliations and bogus credentials? He also allegedly called bin Laden “the Martin Luther of Islam,” proving he knows nothing of what he speaks. The Daily Beast cites earlier Wall Street Journal reports that Gorka was paid “$103,000 from the FBI for training materials between 2012 and 2016. While he was still lecturing for the FBI, the Trump campaign paid him $8,000 for consultations in 2015.” Those are our tax dollars being wasted on insane racist bullshit. Notable of course is that “Even as the FBI drummed Gorka out of the Quantico course, Trump continued to embrace him.” The Daily Beast notes, “The FBI has long had a problem with fringe and Islamophobic pseudo-scholars making their way into the bureau’s training on counterterrorism.” Clearly.

Talking Points Memo reports, “Democrats on the House Oversight Committee asked White House chief of staff Reince Priebus Wednesday to produce documents explaining why senior adviser Jared Kushner’s security clearance hasn’t been revoked amid reports he’s under investigation for failure to disclose multiple meetings with Russian officials.” The Hill adds, “Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) sent a letter signed by the committee’s Democrats to President Trump’s Chief of Staff Reince Priebus that requests documents pertaining to Kushner’s security clearance by July 5. The letter also addresses the White House’s ‘failure to suspend General [Michael] Flynn’s Security Clearance.’” The Hill notes, “Democrats have been calling for Kushner’s firing since May”.

Reuters reports, “The U.S. State Department has expressed ‘regret’ about a Kremlin decision to cancel a meeting between U.S. Undersecretary of State Thomas Shannon and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.” Losing Russia must be so sad that America is not nearly as weak as they misjudged, is being sanctioned to shit and there are now mass protests in the streets because Russians want what Americans have, namely consumer goods and rights. But cancelling meetings is not going to solve Russian problems; sorry sad, angry shits in the Kremlin, the plan to occupy Crimea and then cover for it by installing a puppet regime in Washington backfired in your faces spectacularly, not sorry. According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, “Ryabkov on June 21 said in a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry that the cancellation was Moscow’s response to a new round of U.S. sanctions against Russia announced by Washington on June 20.” Turn the heat up into a warm hybrid war and the U.S. will blow torch your ass because “a boot in your ass, it’s the American way!” In case Russia does not get the message, State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert dutifully would like to remind all, “these sanctions didn’t just come out of nowhere”. No, no they did not. And they are not going away either.

IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly reports, “The German-led enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) battlegroup became operational during Exercise Iron Wolf 2017 in Lithuania, its commander Lieutenant Colonel Christoph Huber said on 20 June.” According to IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly, “Huber also commands the German Army’s (Mechanised Infantry Battalion) 122, which makes up much of the eFP battlegroup in Lithuania, for which it has deployed Leopard 2A6 tanks and Marder 1A3 armoured infantry fighting vehicles. The battlegroup also includes troops from Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Norway, hosted by the Lithuanian Iron Wolf mechanised infantry brigade.” The exercise takes place from June 12-23 “as part of the larger Exercise Saber Strike in the Baltic states and Poland, is the first time that two eFP battlegroups are exercising together,” noting “the exercise involved the US-led eFP battalion in Poland crossing into Lithuania across the Suwalki gap between the Russian military base in Kaliningrad and Belarus.” IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly reports.

The Baltic Times reports, “China’s plans of taking part in the Russian war games in the Baltic Sea may contribute to the tensions in the region, says Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius,” which is of course by design because Russia is weak, in over its head and its navy has one aircraft carrier. “Linkevicius stated officials would keep a close eye whether the training later in June do not feature offensive content,” The Baltic Times notes citing reports in Chinese media that “three of the country’s warships would soon join Russian ships in an exercise close to St.Petersburg and Kaliningrad. China’s helicopters should reportedly also take part in the training.”

The Warsaw Voice reports Poland will buy “eight Patriot missile batteries and will insist on having them equipped with the IBCS system, deputy Defense Minister Bartosz Kownacki told the daily Rzeczpospolita.” Additionally, the Polish government plans a “long-range rocket artillery program,” and “expanding the submarine fleet,” stating, “talks with producers from France, Sweden and Germany continue,” according to The Warsaw Voice.

And it has nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with Russia. IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly reports, “Latvia will meet the NATO target of defence spending of 2% GDP in January 2018, President Raimonds Vejonis announced on 19 June.” Latvian General Leonids Kalnins told IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly, “the extra spending would be invested in infrastructure, personnel, and equipment. The Latvian army’s light infantry brigade is being converted into a mechanised brigade by the end of 2018 and its firepower is to be increased with second-hand M109 155 mm armoured howitzers acquired from Austria”.

Why, what prompted this declaration? According to Reuters, “Russia’s Rosneft, the world’s top listed oil company by output, will continue to work in Venezuela and will never leave the country, its Chief Executive Igor Sechin told reporters on Wednesday.” Sechin said, “We will never leave Venezuela”. Reuters notes, “Rosneft has lent its Venezuelan counterpart PDVSA between $4 billion and $5 billion in recent years”. That is money surely cash and quality alcohol starved Russians might prefer invested in their own country’s infrastructure and development. Meanwhile, POLITICO reports the U.S. government (TRUMPISTAN WATCH dares not pretend Trump has an administration that decides a thing, anything) is planning yet more sanctions on Venezuela, which with a crippled economy, daily violent street protests, raging criminality, is teetering ever closer from the verge to total collapse. Is there anything that Russia touches that does not turn to shit? Something Russia and Trump have in common, surely. Sad!

From Reuters and POLITICO.

POLITICO reports, “The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee,” Rep. Adam Schiff, “said Wednesday that subpoenas could be the next step if the White House doesn’t comply with a Friday deadline to hand over information on any tapes of President Donald Trump’s meetings with former FBI Director James Comey.” POLITICO notes, “Rep. Mike Conaway, the Republican leading the intelligence panel’s investigation into Russia’s meddling in the presidential election, would have to agree to any effort to issue subpoenas, as would House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.),” even though DARKNESS AT NUNES has technically recused himself (albeit technically he has continued to interfere, meaning his word is useless) after running interference for Russia and its puppet, Trump. Why? Of course the knowledge of these tapes is thanks to Twitler’s loose lips as the lunatic tweeted, “James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!” POLITICO notes, “The Senate Judiciary and Intelligence Committees are also seeking any tapes and memos.” However this shakes out Russia need not mistake the consequences: the truth will come out and whatever pain and powerlessness the Kremlin and losing Trump think they feels now will be dwarfed by future revelations. Sad!

The Hill reports, “House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) has had no involvement in the committee’s ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the election since his recusal, the lawmaker who is now leading the probe,” Rep. Mike Conaway said Wednesday. Then why is he issuing subpoenas about bullshit “unmasking” allegations to patriots? Memo to DARKNESS AT NUNES and the ironically named Conaway: we are not fooled by bullshit, only The Stupid is and they are already in Trump’s camp because celebrity worship is how they think they can camouflage the meaningless in their heads and lives. According to The Hill, “‘He’s had absolutely no — he’s not interfered with our investigation or tried to affect it in any way whatsoever,’ Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) told reporters.”  The Hill reports, “The three subpoenas he issued in May are part of his larger duties as chairman of the Intelligence Committee, Conaway said Wednesday — not the Russia probe.” According to The Hill, “Those three orders reportedly went to the CIA, FBI and National Security Agency”. Do not insult patriots. Yeah and Trump has nothing to do with Russia if we are going to tell Russia Party whoppers. Grow a pair and learn to serve your country before your party.

From The Hill.

Just Security takes a long look at how investigators and prosecutors may use existing U.S. laws to go after Trump and his campaign’s officials for collusion with the Russian state to destroy our democracy (unsuccessfully so, TRUMPISTAN WATCH adds). Unlike Russia, ours is a nation of laws and lawyers so mission critical to taking down the orange lunatic puppet is how these laws will apply in this “unpresidented” instance. According to Just Security, “Trump campaign liability would be grounded in a provision of the campaign finance laws prohibiting ‘substantial assistance’ to a foreign national in an electoral intervention,” noting, “on the facts known so far, the Trump campaign’s actions in support of the Russian program have been ‘in plain sight’carried out openly and notoriously.” Just Security notes that “the case could also be brought under ordinary ‘aiding and abetting’ principles of the criminal law,” as “It is well understood that established ‘aiding and abetting’ principles have wide, elastic application.” Accordingly, “the assistance constituting aiding and abetting does not have to be substantial. The accomplice liability provision of the federal campaign finance law, focused on ‘substantial assistance,’ is, in that sense, stricter.” Just Security accurately notes, “they have evidence in the Trump/Russia case with which to work.” What is that evidence? “The campaign was fully aware of the Russian source of the stolen material and of the Putin regime purpose to intervene in an election.  The hackers did not steal into the Podesta account for their private consumption and edification; they put the stuff out with fanfare, with the intention of generating sensational disclosures that would have the most impact possible on the presidential campaign.” There is also the fact that “the campaign welcomed the intrusion and did what it could to advance its objectives.” Just Security reminds us, “over the course of the month of October issued multiple releases highlighting whatever it judged politically useful in the content of the Wikileaks disclosures. The President himself, who had openly invited the Russian hacking and declared that he ‘loved’ Wikileaks, cited this material in the closing weeks.” Do not forget, “Even after the intelligence community finding, Mr. Trump participated in a presidential debate in which he would not denounce the Russian involvement, or even squarely acknowledge that there was no question that Russia was behind the hacking.” Just Security is right, “the Trump campaign did not stop at signaling its approval of the Russian theft. It then made active and systematic use of it.” So, “The Trump campaign unquestionably associated itself with this venture and wished for it to succeed.” Any time you hear or think Trump is too stupid to have participated in collusion with Russia (ignore Marc Cuban’s stupid), remember all of this and never ever forget it. Unpresidented.

Newsweek reports faux news Fox News Sean Hannity said “a ‘soft coup’ is taking place in the country.” Dear faux news Fox and Sean Hannity, if there is a “soft coup” happening, get your terminology right and understand it is a counter-coup to defeat the bullshit Russia, the Party of Russia and Trump pulled last November, do not kid yourself. Hannity “claims it is being led by the mainstream media and the intelligence community, which he said are attempting to undermine the Republican Trump’s agenda.” Again, dear, do not kid yourself, if the intelligence community has a vendetta to pay for Trump’s collusion with adversarial Russia in hacking our election it does so on behalf of American sovereignty and insane lunatic puppet calling them “Nazis,” as he did in January. The media is merely an instrument to this end and is not working with any real agency because they more than happily bolstered your guy traitor trash Trump because this was how the media found its way to food at a time it was broke, broken, hurting and hungry for cash. Now that we have that straightened out, let us cheer on any and all patriots working to take back our state from Russia instead of bending over for them as Sean Hannity has done. Go away and shut up and sit down and stop taking advantage of and stoking the paranoia of stupid people with your bullshit and lies, traitor trash Hannity.

Reuters reports, “Moscow is considering a range of retaliatory measures in response to a planned new round of U.S. sanctions to be imposed on Moscow over its role in Ukraine, the Kremlin said on Wednesday.” You know who will suffer? Ordinary Russians. And what do ordinary Russians want? Better relations with the West. So let’s double dog dare the thieves and the murderers in the Kremlin to implement this asinine plan. Go on, we double dog dare you. So what shit does Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov say? Reuters reports, “It goes without saying that the main principle of reacting to sanctions is reciprocity,” Peskov said on a conference call with reporters, adding, “At our experts’ level, naturally, different variants (of Russian) sanctions are now being formulated and proposed”. You do that and it’s your ass not ours. So please, go on, do it!

From Reuters.

LOL, yes that’s the best shit Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has to counter the latest round of U.S. sanctions against the Russian regime. They know we have them economically speaking by the balls because their country produces nothing but corruption and crappy puppets so little Lavrov whined that the “Russophobic obsession” of the U.S. is to blame. Memo to the Kremlin: get your puppet and others you have bribed, blackmailed and coerced out of our state and our so-called “obsession” ends. We do not give a shit about Russia; we care about our country, but keep dreaming we do. We all know your sad little Putin wants American style celebrity because he never felt the love of his mother. Fame in Russia is for second run hacks, D-listers looking for the old glory days of their faded youthful star. So who is obsessed with who? Hmmm…

From Russian state-run Sputnik.

Agence France Presse reports, “The Kremlin on Wednesday (June 21) hit back at embarrassing media reports that President Vladimir Putin mistook a video of US attacks on Afghanistan for Russian strikes on Syria.” Remember: never believe anything until the Kremlin denies it. Oliver Stone proved how precious little he knows about Putin even after he spent hours dedicated to making a hagiography of the murderous dictator. According to Russian state-run RT, the idiot Stone said, “Why would he fake it?” Watch the video of Stone’s non-apologia to really appreciate what a paid off fool he is.

Russian state-run Sputnik features a work of propaganda fiction headlined, “I Pee Freely” which claims a U.S. soldier received a fine for urinating on the Lithuanian Ministry of the Interior in Vilnius. Now recall, never believe anything until the Kremlin denies it and most of all do not believe Russian state generated “reports” that cite their own bogus regional media such as BaltNews which Riga-based Meduza has linked to Russian state-run Rossiya Segodnya. By contrast, Deutsche Welle reports, “Martas Stelmokas watched the heavy armored vehicles roll down the dirt road in front of his house, accompanied by hundreds of troops. Lithuanians have watched this kind of scene play out before with excruciating consequences. During World War II, four years of brutal German occupation gave way to more than 50 years of forced Soviet annexation. But Stelmokas and his family weren’t sheltering inside, hiding the valuables from inevitable demands of the camouflage-faced soldiers swarming the fields. They were out taking selfies with the troops.” Stelmokas was thrilled, “It’s very exciting! It’s the first time we’ve seen these big tanks here!” also describing NATO’s presence as “only positive”. If Russia actually had something going for it, anything at all, they would not need to build a house of cards on a foundation of bullshit and lies. Other lies promoted by Russian state-run Sputnik involve civilian deaths and private property scares in the region. Memo to Russia: the U.S. and NATO were invited to Lithuania and the Baltic states because when the Soviet Union occupied these free and sovereign republics they ran them into the ground, murdered their civilians en masse and pissed all over the region’s Interior Ministries with a brutal Soviet occupation. In response, TRUMPISTAN WATCH wishes to defer to a James Carville quote here when it comes to Russia and this little bit of propaganda: “I wouldn’t piss down his throat if his heart was on fire.”

The New York Times has a feature on “a private museum that is devoted to the memory of the ‘anti-Bolshevik resistance’ and that delves into a singularly taboo topicwhy many Cossacks and other persecuted Soviet citizens welcomed, at least initially, Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941.” This is enormously controversial and “has enraged the authorities by focusing on the relentless persecution that followed Russia’s 1917 Bolshevik revolution, creating fertile ground for anti-Soviet treachery during a war that cost 25 million Soviet lives.” The director, Vladimir Melikhov, a former Soviet factory director who built the museum on his private estate south of Moscow, said, “What they really don’t like is that I make people think about what happened in the past and what is happening today.” Consequently, “he has been denounced on state television as a traitor, Russian border guards have defaced his passport to prevent him from leaving the country, and he has faced a string of seemingly trumped-up criminal charges. On Tuesday, a court in Podolsk found him guilty of illegal weapons possession and sentenced him to a year of ‘restricted freedom’ — house arrest”. The New York Times notes, “Mr. Melikhov is not the only one to be singled out. A state committee in Moscow recently vetoed a decision by scholars in St. Petersburg to award a doctoral degree to Kirill Alexandrov, a historian. His dissertation, on the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia, an outfit set up in 1944 with German support to rally opposition to Stalin’s regime, was deemed insufficiently patriotic.” Brave, patriotic souls who fight for truth in a country built on lies. Well worth the read.
