The Huffington Post reports, “Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) says President Donald Trump must be removed from office following his explosive comments defending participants in a white nationalist rally turned deadly in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday.” Previously, TRUMPISTAN WATCH reported on July 13, citing a report in The Hill, that Rep. Brad Sherman of California had introduced articles of impeachment. Sherman’s move was based on “obstructing justice during the federal investigation of Russia’s 2016 election interference.”  As noted in the earlier reports, “Despite mounting Democratic interest, impeachment is a complicated process that requires the support of a majority of members of the House of RepresentativesNo GOP members have publicly floated impeachment, though lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have begun to express concern over whether Trump is fit to lead in recent weeks.” Note to all Russia Party Republicans, flaccid statements of condemnation and private reservations do nothing to rescue the American future from the death throes of an adversary and an unfit lunatic.

Foreign Policy
reports, “In the summer of 2016, as WikiLeaks was publishing documents from Democratic operatives allegedly obtained by Kremlin-directed hackers, Julian Assange turned down a large cache of documents related to the Russian government,” citing chat messages and records provided by a source. According to Foreign Policy, “WikiLeaks declined to publish a wide-ranging trove of documents — at least 68 gigabytes of data — that came from inside the Russian Interior Ministry”. Foreign Policy notes, “The Russian cache was eventually quietly published online elsewhere, to almost no attention or scrutiny,” because who else is narcissistic enough to command the star power Assange has now that the Western media has made him into a global celebrity? Recall, “Back in 2010, Assange vowed to publish documents on any institution that resisted oversight.” Of course, “by 2016, WikiLeaks had switched course, focusing almost exclusively on Clinton and her campaign.”

POLITICO reports, “Rep. Eric Swalwell’s campaign website features ominous photos of President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner. It warns about Russia’s attacks on last year’s presidential election and asks visitors to sign a petition demanding that a bipartisan commission investigate.” For some reason POLITICO starts with the Democrats. Then of course it asks “Those who sign,” if they are willing, “to contribute $5, $10, $25 or more to the California Democrat,” because Washington is Washington after all. In an era when all the unspoken rules are being broken, “Swalwell is one of the junior members of the House Intelligence Committee, which has long had an unspoken rule against engaging in partisan fundraising related to the panel’s secretive work.” POLITICO adds, “Fundraising appeals from Intelligence Committee members have so far avoided detailed references to the panel’s investigation, but there is undoubtedly a connection.” According to POLITICO, “Rep. Adam Schiff, the House panel’s top Democrat , last month sent a fundraising request tangentially related to his involvement in the House investigation that is looking into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia,” and of course, “House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and Rep. Trey Gowdy have also done it.”  This is what should be in the lede as they are the collaborators of treason trash Trump. Wonder what their appeals looks like. We stand with Russia and racism in blocking the patriots and diversity crusaders? Something like that as POLITICO reports Gowdy’s appeal in part reads, “Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff are lining up the Democratic machine to take me down next election”. POLITICO reports DARKNESS AT NUNES “has repeatedly talked about the investigation during private fundraising events,” even though he was supposed to have recused himself and stop running interference for Trump and Russia. POLITICO notes the RNC also sent out a push for donations the day Comey testified on the Hill after he was fired by Trump. For his part, Trump has only attacked Democrats for raising funds, not those running interference or trying to protect him. Maybe by the time the Russia Party Republicans are done ruining America the Hill will be the Heil?

There is video for defense geeks eager to get a glimpse.

Could it be, history repeats? Just as the Soviet Union went broke competing with Western defense might and mafias controlling resources, so too might Putin’s regime as IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly reports, “Cuts are envisaged in Russia’s forthcoming state budget in 2018 due to defence reductions, but will these not affect the re-equipment of the army and navy, President Vladimir Putin has said”.  This at a time when Russia is gearing up for a massive military exercise Zapad and teasing confrontation with the West? Weak Putin, very weak! Putin “made the remarks in a meeting on 15 August with Vladimir Vasiliev, parliamentary leader of the United Russia party,” according to IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly.

TRUMPISTAN WATCH has followed Zapad, Russia’s enormous military exercise scheduled from September 14-20, and news of observers invited – or not invited — extra closely. In the case of the observers, there appears to be extra efforts to sow the seeds of confusion. The contradictions among reports are enormous, all of which serves Russian disinformation goals of making it so you do not know what to believe. Just yesterday TRUMPISTAN WATCH reported observers would not be present as Moscow plans a special presentation to defense attachés, citing a Baltic Times report. Now Russian state-run TASS claims, “Latvia will commission three observers to monitor the West 2017 Russian-Belarusian military drills in September, the Latvian foreign ministry said on Wednesday.” According to the Vienna Document, military exercises topping 13,000 participants are subject to international monitoring; reports indicate the joint Russian-Belarusian Zapad could include as many as 100,000. Could these alleged Latvian observers simply be the invitees to Moscow’s so-called special presentation?

The Moscow Times reports, “Opposition leader and head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation Alexei Navalny has struck at Russia’s elite once again, this time naming and shaming the alleged offspring of Vladimir Putin’s spokesman.” In Navalny’s blog post, “A Brilliant Father’s Golden Child,” he “alleges that Nikolai Choles, the supposed son of Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, is living well beyond his means.” According to The Moscow Times, “Choles grew up in Britain before moving back to Russia around 2011, Navalny said, where he has enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle despite only holding down temporary employment between periods of joblessness.” Navalny wrote, “Choles was briefly employed by the state-funded RT news outlet and dabbled in several other projects. But these spurts of employment could hardly fund the expensive cars and properties in his name, Navalny suggests, or the glamorous lifestyle — documented on social media — that routinely featured sailing yachts or private plane trips.” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty adds, “Choles, believed to be Peskov’s son from his first marriage, moved to Britain in the late 1990s to live with his mother and stepfather, whose last name he took.” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “Choles has a fleet of cars, Navalny alleges, including a Tesla worth some $150,000. The blog post shows a copy of an alleged traffic citation listing Choles as the owner, one of 116 infractions listed for him for the year,” adding, “Choles also has two Moscow apartments”. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty notes, “Navalny also produced a copy of a court document from 2012 showing that Choles had not been paying child support.” The Guardian flushes out Choles’ profile further reporting, “In 2010, Nikolay Choles was a troubled British youth, jailed for assaulting a man outside a McDonald’s restaurant in Milton Keynes,” but by “2017, according to the Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny, “Choles had become a fixture on the Moscow social circuit, driving Ferraris and travelling first-class or by private jet.” According to The Guardian by the time of the McDonald’s incident, “Choles was already in a young offender institution for stealing a mobile phone, the court heard, and had undergone courses to deal with alcohol problems and anger management.” According to the private Instagram account Navalny found, now, however, Choles now has “an oil painting of himself with a horse,” The Guardian adds, which says Choles told Russian news outlet RBK after Navalny’s post was published, “This is just a nightmare”. Choles continued, “How else could you consider this? It’s horrible.”

Reuters reports, “A Lithuanian man accused of defrauding Facebook Inc and Google Inc out of more than $100 million pleaded not guilty to criminal charges in U.S. court on Thursday. Evaldas Rimasauskas, 48, entered his plea through an interpreter before U.S. Magistrate Judge Barbara Moses in federal court in Manhattan, clad in a blue and white striped shirt and faded blue jeans. He arrived in New York on Wednesday night after being extradited from Lithuania”. He remains in custody and did not ask for bail. In March, “U.S. prosecutors charged Rimasauskas” in the hack.

Bloomberg reports, “As federal investigators probe possible Kremlin links with the Donald Trump campaign, one connection that hasn’t gotten much attention is that between Jared Kushner and one of Russia’s most powerful and influential billionaires: Roman Abramovich.” According to Bloomberg, “The men have met three to four times in social settings, and their wives have been friends for a decade, facts that Kushner and Ivanka Trump revealed on their security-clearance forms to join the White House staff”. Bloomberg notes, “In 2014, the Kushners spent four days in Russia at the invitation of Abramovich’s wife, Dasha Zhukova. The couples sat at the same table along with a few other people during a high-powered fundraising dinner for Moscow’s Jewish Museum. Kushner also was invested in an online art business of which Zhukova is a founding partner. Ivanka Trump, Kushner and his brother, Joshua, have accompanied Zhukova to sporting events in the New York area.” Former Yukos owner turned political prisoner turned liberated Putin foe in exile Mikhail Khodorkovsky said, “There’s no oligarch among those still accepted in the West who’s closer and more trusted by Putin than Abramovich”. Bloomberg reports, “Wendi Deng, the ex-wife of Rupert Murdoch, first introduced Zhukova to Ivanka Trump a decade ago. Then in 2010, Thrive Capital, the venture firm founded by Joshua Kushner, which included funds from older brother Jared, invested in Artsy, an online platform for art discovery and collecting, and brought in Deng and Zhukova as co-investors. Thrive led a $1.25 million funding round and has continued to back Artsy over the years. Last month Thrive, Zhukova and Deng participated in a $50 million financing. Jared Kushner divested his financial interest in Thrive after entering the White House in January.” Ivanka has left a long social media trail featuring Zhukova, thanking her for the “unforgettable four days in Russia!” And posing with her “at a Chelsea versus AC Milan game at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.” Bloomberg notes, “at the height of the presidential campaign last September, Ivanka and Kushner were pictured with Zhukova at the U.S. Tennis Open in New York.” Of course, “Abramovich’s ties to Putin are many.” Abramovitch and Zhukova announced their divorce publicly this month.

The Los Angeles Times reports, “Far-right blogger and provocateur Chuck C. Johnson said on Thursday that he helped arrange a highly unusual meeting between Orange County GOP Rep. Dana Rohrabacher and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange this week.” According to The Los Angeles Times, Johnson claims “that he and Assange attorney Jennifer Robinson also were in the meeting.” The Los Angeles Times reports, “Johnson wrote in an email to The Times that the meeting was the result of a ‘desire for ongoing communications’ from both Rohrabacher and Assange.”
