TRUMP’S RUSSIA LAWYER OVERHEARD SAYING SOMETHING DELICIOUS
The New York Times reports Trump’s in-house Russia lawyer Ty Cobb and John Dowd, described as “a Washington lawyer with extensive experience in high-profile political cases,” while at lunch “at BLT Steak, not far from the White House and a few doors down from The Times’s office” were overheard by “A reporter who happened to be at the next table”. The reporter heard “Mr. Cobb describing varying views of how to respond to Mr. Mueller’s requests for documents.” Accordingly, Cobb said, “Our view is we’re not hiding anything.” But then referring to White House Counsel Don McGahn, he added, “He’s got a couple documents locked in a safe.” Well, holy shit. Where there is smoke, would you believe there is fire?

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR MONEY LAUNDERED?
Business Insider reports runs a fantastic chart credited to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York (from Preet Bharara’s days) of how money ostensibly “repatriated” from Bill Browder’s earnings in Russia went from the Russian treasury to a firm called Prevezon which purchased real estate in Manhattan. Business Insider recalls, “Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Russian prosecutor with ties to the Kremlin, was representing the real-estate company Prevezon Holdings in a civil suit filed by the US government in the Southern District of New York when she visited Trump Tower on June 9, 2016.” Pay attention to the chart though, Americans and those unfamiliar with the post-Soviet space, this is how this works.

FACEBOOK HANDS MUELLER RUSSIAN PSYOPS RECORDS
How horrifying to be that Cassandra screaming in the dark and still trembling from the result that Russia was conducting a widespread operation of high intensity military grade psyops on our country from September to December of last year. Now The Wall Street Journal reports, “Facebook Inc. has handed over to special counsel Robert Mueller detailed records about the Russian ad purchases on its platform that go beyond what it shared with Congress last week,” which adds, “The information Facebook shared with Mr. Mueller included copies of the ads and details about the accounts that bought them and the targeting criteria they used”.

RIGHTS GROUPS WANTS FIRTASH ON MAGNITSKY ACT SANCTIONS LIST
Interfax-Ukraine reports, “Freedom House, Human Rights Watch, Transparency International, other rights and anti-corruption organizations have published a list of foreign officials in 15 countries, recommending them for sanction by the United States government. Businessman Dmytro Firtash is among these persons.” Recall Firtash is the former business associate of Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort who is currently awaiting extradition in Austria.
T REX: SERGEY YOU ARE WANTED ON THE TELPEHONE
Reuters reports, “Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had phoned Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Saturday to discuss the Syria situation and how the ‘anti-terrorism’ battle on the ground was playing out.”
VOLKER CAUTIOUS ON RUSSIA UN PEACEKEEPER PLAN FOR UKRAINE
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “The U.S. special envoy for efforts to end the conflict in eastern Ukraine,” Kurt Volker, “has called a Russian proposal to send United Nations peacekeepers to the region a ‘step forward’ but warns there are still many ‘obstacles’ to the plan suggested by Moscow.” According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Volker said “on the sidelines of the annual Yalta European Strategy conference in Kyiv,” that the existing proposal “would only protect monitors, not people. It would not give access to control the Russia-Ukraine border. There’s a lot of obstacles, a lot of problems with the way it was proposed.” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty writes his comments were a follow up of sorts to a tweet from early on September 16 that said, “The conflict in eastern Ukraine is not an indigenous uprising; it’s an externally driven conflict & Russia is responsible.” Amen.
ZAPAD WATCH: UKRAINE CALLS FOR AMERCIAN WEAPONS AGAIN
The Independent reports, “As thousands of Russian troops, aircraft and armour carried out massive war games across the border, Ukraine’s President was asking the US to supply advanced offensive weapons to defend itself against the ‘barbaric aggressive plans of the Kremlin.’” The Independent notes, “Petro Poroshenko had claimed that the military exercise, Zapad-2017, taking place in Belarus was really ‘a smokescreen to create new Russian army assault groups to invade Ukrainian territory’. The reality, he insisted, was that ‘with Moscow, one should always be prepared,’” which is wise advice to all because the Russians only respect strength.

ROHRABACHER ASKED TRUMP TO GET ASSANGE OFF THE LEGAL HOOK
The Wall Street Journal reports, “A U.S. congressman contacted the White House this week trying to broker a deal that would end WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s U.S. legal troubles in exchange for what he described as evidence that Russia wasn’t the source of hacked emails published by the antisecrecy website during the 2016 presidential campaign.” Of course that congressman is Putin’s favorite Dana Rohrabacher! Citing The Wall Street Journal, CNBC reports, “In exchange, Assange would produce alleged evidence that Russia did not provide the hacked emails released by WikiLeaks during the 2016 presidential election”. This came “In a phone call with White House chief of staff John Kelly on Wednesday,” and Rohrabacher, CNBC reports.
NAVALNY AIDE ATTACKED WITH METAL PIPE IN MOSCOW
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “A top aide to Russian opposition leader Aleksei Navalny,” Nikolai Lyaskin, “says he was attacked on the street with a metal pipe in Moscow, the latest incident in what Navalny calls a state-sanctioned campaign of violence and intimidation against supporters of his presidential bid.” According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, “Nikolai Lyaskin, head of the Moscow bureau of Navalny’s presidential campaign, said on Twitter that shortly after he left the campaign headquarters in the city’s central district on September 15, an unidentified assailant struck him several times from behind with the pipe and then fled the scene.” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty notes, “The extent of his injuries was not immediately clear.”
MANAFORT’S SPOKESMAN TESTIFIES BEFORE GRAND JURY
Reuters reports Jason Maloni, “The spokesman for President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort testified before a federal grand jury on Friday in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible collusion between Trump’s 2016 election campaign and Russia.” POLITICO adds Maloni “spent about two-and-a-half hours testifying”.
MONEY LAUNDERING EXPERT LAWYER YOUR WANTED BY SPECIAL COUNSEL
POLITICO reports, “An attorney working on the Justice Department’s highest-profile money laundering case recently transferred off that assignment in order to join the staff of the special prosecutor investigating the Trump campaign’s potential ties to Russia”. Oh hello, money laundering expert lawyer, you are wanted by the Special Counsel Robert Mueller to crush the Russian puppet president and all his Russian mafia state “friends”. POLITICO adds, “Attorney Kyle Freeny was among the prosecutors on hand Friday as a spokesman for former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Jason Maloni, testified before a grand jury at federal court in Washington”. POLITICO notes Freeny “is the 16th lawyer known to be working with the former FBI chief on the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election”. That’s a lot of very specialized attorneys working on behalf of the American people against the Russian mafia state. Nobody shit on lawyers after this is over for a while now, please. They are helping to save the republic for now, so long as they are not named Natalia Veselnitskaya. You can however forever shit on Russian lawyers and those who aid their proxies and puppets however as much as you damn please.
ON DECK: MICHAEL COHEN TESTIFYING TOMORROW BEFORE SENATE INTEL
CNN reports, “President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen told CNN on Sunday that he expects to appear this Tuesday before the Senate intelligence committee.” CNN notes, “Cohen is not expected to be under oath during the appearance, but all witnesses appearing before congressional committees are required to tell the truth or potentially face criminal charges.”
MICHAEL CAPUTO + TRUMP CAMP CO. WHINE ABOUT CONSEQUENCES
The Washington Examiner reports, “An expanding special counsel probe into the Trump campaign’s alleged Russian ties has saddled many of President Trump’s current and former associates with hefty legal fees and left them few options for footing the bill.” Aren’t consequences just the fucking worst? Michael Caputo who once sent TRUMPISTAN WATCH a snarky gif on Twitter for ridiculing him for being so stupid at one point said, “It’s very expensive and nobody’s called me and offered to help”. So sad! And in reasons for a child to divorce their parent, “Caputo said he still had to liquidate his children’s college fund to pay the tab for his lawyer.” Irony of ironies, after working for a man who positively revels in violence and has shown his support for white supremacists, Caputo also whined about security costs now. The Washington Examiner reports, “Another former campaign hand said Trump ‘has hung us out to dry’ by leaving associates to drown in their attorneys’ fees.” Oh so sorry, did you also not think there would be consequences?! Why are consequences so confusing, is it because Trump has never faced them?

TRUMP HIDES MAR-A-LAGO VISITOR RECORDS
The National Security Archive said in a press release, “The Department of Homeland Security today released exactly two pages of Mar-a-Lago presidential visitor records in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit brought by the National Security Archive, together with the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University and the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).” All three are truly worthy organizations. That is not exactly the full and complete set of visitor records for the past however long it has been since this hell of Russian occupation under an idiot tyrant began — forever? According to the National Security Archive, “The only document the government released concerns the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe – this after telling Judge Failla and the plaintiffs that DHS would produce all the visitor logs.” The National Security Archive notes, “The release, initially planned for September 8, comes one week behind schedule. Last Friday government lawyers requested a one-time extension for final review for the records.” Well they lied and lied again. Surprise! Everything is fake and nothing is transparent.
WHITE HOUSE STICKS WITH ANONYMOUS LEGAL DEFENSE FUND GIFTS BAN
POLITICO reports, “The head of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics said on Friday that the agency is sticking with its long-standing stance prohibiting anonymous donations to White House legal defense funds, despite recently putting forward language that appeared to undercut that position.”
NATALIA VESELNITSKAYA: FROM OBSCURITY TO RICHES + NOTORIETY
CNN reports, “According to two different privately run databases, which draw on personal financial and employment information from Russian state records, [Natalia] Veselnitskaya went from a lowly state salary of $1,559 a year to a much more comfortable $53,645, between 1999 and 2003.” Recall Veselnitskaya was the Kremlin’s lawyer in a June 9, 2016 Trump Tower meeting with then campaign manager Paul Manafort, Uday Donald Trump Jr., and princeling Jared Kushner. CNN continues, “here’s the curious thing: In August 2003, before the lion’s share of that $53,645 was earned, the Russian land registry shows that Veselnitskaya was somehow able to buy two large plots of land in an elite residential community in the Moscow suburbs — properties that cannot have been sold for less than $500,000 apiece at the time, according to two Russian brokers with extensive experience selling in that area.” God do we know the answer to this and if you don’t, try not to think too hard about it. CNN writes, somewhat inaccurately, “How a 28-year-old provincial attorney raking in, at most, five figures was able to afford seven figures worth of property is a very Russian mystery”. No, not really. Here is CNN completing that wink wink: “If special counsel Robert Mueller is interested in determining just how well-connected Veselnitskaya is in Russia and on whose behalf she may have been acting when she entered Trump Tower a year ago, he should start by asking a simple question: Where did she get all her money?”
TODAY IN FULL TRUMPISTAN HEADLINES: TRUMP’S HANDS ARE BIG
Yes, it’s true, this headline really happened because everyone knows Trump has been an insecure mess for years since Graydon Carter and Spy Magazine described his hands as itty, bitty, tiny, little baby hands in the late 1990s. The Washington Examiner has a full Trumpistan headline, “It’s true: Trump’s hands are big,” except it’s not true! It’s bullshit in fact! The lede? “President Trump was apparently right when he shook up the 2016 presidential campaign to declare that his hands were big.” Bullshit. The Washington Examiner writes, “Readying to pass out hoagies during a trip Thursday to hurricane ravaged Florida, he tried to put on a pair of rubber gloves and failed.” The White House press pool report felt need to elaborate on how he turned a disaster relief event into something about him as it is all his insane narcissistic tendencies will allow. “Trump paused to try to put on thin white plastic gloves but struggled. His hands were apparently too, uh, large. ‘They’re too small,’ Trump said”. This is literally what state news in the former Soviet Union looks like. No one on the advance team should lose their position over this most unexpected kerfuffle.

CARTER PAGE SUES MEDIA BECAUSE HE IS SAD + DESPERATE FOR ATTENTION
Talking Points Memo reports, “In a whopping 400-plus page complaint filed Thursday, onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page sued several news organizations for publishing what he deemed were ‘highly-damaging, life-threatening articles’ about his contacts with Russian officials.” Just what the courts need now, frivolous law suits from dubious figures of the Trump campaign trying to make us all less free. According to Talking Points Memo, “Page’s defamation suit, filed in federal court in Manhattan, identifies a Sept. 23, 2016 Yahoo article as the wellspring for a flood of stories calling into question his past work in Moscow and his contacts with Kremlin-linked Russian businessmen. Page, who is representing himself, is seeking $75,000 in damages.” Talking Points Memo reports, “The article, written by Yahoo’s chief investigative correspondent Michael Isikoff, reported that U.S. officials were investigating whether Page met with Russian officials, including Igor Sechin, a former deputy prime minister, and Igor Diveykin, the Kremlin’s deputy chief for internal policy, during the campaign to discuss lifting U.S. sanctions against Russia. The alleged meeting occurred during a June 2016 trip to Moscow that Page took while serving as a foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign; Page denies that he he met with those officials.”

MELANIA TRUMP STILL HAS “PRETTY WOMAN” DREAMS APPEAL IN BALKANS
The film “Pretty Woman” starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere ignited the dreams of young women among Eastern Europe’s first post-Cold War capitalist generation. Escaping poverty, alcoholism and the cultural and political detritus of socialism by falling into the hands of a wealthy Western john was a dream built on escape fantasies and the riches the west had to offer. As a young “model” Melania Trump worked illegally to New York for a “modeling agent” who profile bears a stunning resemblance to a man who procures young girls for wealthy male clients for other purposes named Paolo Zampolli. Now a Croatian English school is playing on these dreams! The Telegraph reports, “A Croatian language school has launched a new billboard in Zagreb depicting First Lady Melania Trump with the line: ‘Just imagine how far you can go with a little bit of English.’” Unwritten into the ad: and a very wealthy man.
