DOES TRUMP KNOW NORTH KOREA SANCTIONS HURT HIS RUSSIAN FRIENDS?
POLITICO reports, “President Donald Trump on Thursday announced a new executive order that he said would expand authorities to go after individuals, companies and banks involved in trade with North Korea, amid heightened tensions as that country continues ramping up its missile testing.” Does he know his great friends in Russia will be harmed in the making of this Executive Order?
FAKEBOOK SHARES WITH CONGRESS, ZUCK DEALS WITH PR CRISIS IN TSHIRT
The Daily Beast reports, “On Thursday, Facebook announced that it plans to turn over more than 3,000 Russian-linked ads that appeared on the site to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, and Congress is keeping information about the process close to the vest—at least for now.” You know it’s all going to bleed out and then we will find out Facebook was complicit and the women’s march was an active measure and we will all have to deal or else live, or perhaps in fact die, with slavery at the hands of our Russian occupiers. Two of the Facebook groups created by our great Russian friends, Secured Borders and Being Patriotic, were active until last month when Facebook “woke” suddenly. Wonder what Mueller had to say for Zuck to be “woke”. Zuck chose a shit brown t-shirt to address the nation about his sudden woke-ness after all he has done.

NOW, FINALLY SKADDEN IS HIT BY SHITSTORM OVER FAKE UKRAINE REPORT
The New York Times reports, “Five years ago, Paul Manafort arranged for a prominent New York-based law firm,” Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher + Flom, “to draft a report that was used by allies of his client, Viktor Yanukovych, the Russia-aligned president of Ukraine, to justify the jailing of a political rival. And now the report is coming back to haunt it.” Well, that is sort of as it should be. According to The New York Times, “The Justice Department, according to two people with direct knowledge of the situation, recently asked the firm, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, for information and documents related to its work on behalf of Mr. Yanukovych’s government”. An umbrella will protect no one from this shit storm, maybe.

OLIGARCHS TIED TO TRUMP + CO. IN CLOSED DOOR MEETING WITH PUTIN
Mother Jones reports, “on Thursday, [Oleg] Deripaska,” who former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort once offered “private briefings” to, “along with several other oligarchs whose names have surfaced in relation to the Trump-Russia scandal—attended an important meeting of business leaders at the Kremlin with Putin, where before a closed door session they were treated to a short public speech from Putin touting Russia’s economic gains under his leadership.” “Treated” is being used in the snide sense of the term here. The meeting received coverage in the Russian newspaper Moskovskiy Komsomolets. Mother Jones notes, “Also attending Thursday’s meeting with Putin was Sergey Gorkov, the chief of Russia’s state-owned development bank, Vnesheconombank. In December 2016, Gorkov met with Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner at the request of Sergey Kislyak, then Russia’s ambassador to the United States.” Mother Jones adds, “Another attendee at the Kremlin gathering was Herman Gref, the CEO of the state-controlled Sberbank PJSC, Russia’s biggest bank. In 2013, Gref organized a Moscow event with a dozen top Russian businessmen that was attended by Donald Trump, then in town for the Miss Universe pageant.” No word in Mother Jones on whether Aras Agalarov, father of crooner Emin Agalarov, was there.

HEADS UP: RUSSIA TEST FIRED AN ICBM ON WEDNESDAY
Defense One reports, “The Russian military on Wednesday test-fired an RS-24 Yars, one of their newest intercontinental ballistic missiles,” citing Russian state media reports. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced via Russian state-run TASS announced, “The solid-fueled ICBM, ‘equipped with a detachable warhead, arrived at the designated area on the Kura test range on the Kamchatka Peninsula at the state-owned Plesetsk Test Space Cosmodrome with the Yoshkar-Ola missile connection’”. Defense One notes, “Russia and the United States are both working to modernize their ICBMs”.

RUSSIA BAILS OUT SECOND LENDER IN A MONTH
CNBC reports, “Russia’s central bank has been forced to rescue two major lenders in less than a month, intensifying concerns among global investors that a systemic banking crisis could be in the offing.” According to CNBC, “The Russian government’s latest rescue of a major bank was confirmed on Thursday, when the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) said it had nationalized the country’s 12th largest lender in terms of assets, B&N Bank.” CNBC notes, “The failure of two major lenders in relatively quick succession has fueled anxiety over the health of Russia’s banking sector, which has been hampered by an economic slowdown and Western sanctions in recent years.”
SENATOR CHUCK GRASSLEY ASKS IF FBI WARNED THE CULPRIT
Reuters reports, “The head of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee has asked the FBI whether it warned Donald Trump’s presidential campaign about alleged attempts by Russia to infiltrate the campaign.” Reuters, “Republican Senator Chuck Grassley’s office said on Thursday he wrote to Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray asking whether the agency provided ‘defensive briefings’ to Trump’s team given its ongoing investigation of Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign manager.” Or in simpler terms, did the FBI warn the culprit and his lead accomplice?
TWITTER CLAIMS IT IS COOPERATING WITH CONGRESS
Vanity Fair reports, “Twitter has confirmed that it will speak with senators next week regarding the spread of propaganda on its platform, as well as the huge number of fake and foreign bot accounts that proliferated in 2016.” That still proliferate. Vanity Fair notes, “While Twitter is smaller than Facebook, it has an outsize impact in media circles, and there are effectively no checks preventing misleading information from quickly going viral.”

JOHN KELLY BUMP OR THE COLLECTIVE LOBOTOMY IS WORKING
The Hill reports, “President Trump’s historically low job approval rating has been on the rise in recent weeks, giving the president a boost as the White House works to repeal ObamaCare and pass tax reform.” You see the problem is much bigger and far darker than just Trump, he has real supporters who are just as fascist and perhaps even wildly more so than Russia could dream of right here in the U.S.! While The Hill notes, “Trump’s equivocal response to the racially charged violence in Charlottesville, Va., in mid-August had tangible negative political consequences for Trump and appears to have dragged him to the low point of his presidency so far,” evidently long term Americans are pretty ok with a fake Russian puppet president who expresses support for neo-Nazis, white supremacists and fascists. The Hill reports, “This week, Trump ticked up to the 40 percent approval mark in both the RealClearPolitics and Huffpollster averages of major surveys,” largely because of the hurricanes, which makes no sense except for in that being abused by nature might make being abused by the state seem more gentle or benign? It’s not just these polls either as The Hill notes, “Trump is still at only 38 percent in the latest Gallup survey, but that’s up 4 points in the last three weeks from a low of 34. The latest Reuters-Ipsos survey released Wednesday found Trump improving by 4 points, from 35 to 39, in just the last week.” Maybe this is just a John Kelly bump? Otherwise if it’s not put on your tinfoil hat because the collective lobotomy is working. And prepare for exile as you keep on fighting for a future.

NAZI FAKE TERRORISM EXPERT FOLLOWED RUSSIAN TWITTER ACCOUNT
Remember Seb Gorka, the neo-Nazi who used to be employed at the White House ostensibly as a counterterrorism expert? Well, turns out he followed a Russian troll account, like a badass. Truth be told many have, will, and do. This one, “@tpartynews looked as American as could be,” (hint: they often do). CNN describes @tpartynews as “A Twitter account, its profile photo on the site was a ‘Tea Party’ teapot in the colors of the American flag. Its cover photo was an image of the U.S. Constitution.” Wait for it. CNN notes, “But @tpartynews wasn’t American. It was part of a Russian propaganda operation, according to Russian journalists who discovered the link.” Isn’t it something when a White House counterterror expert spreads adversary propaganda, but then isn’t that also the case when the fake Russian puppet president does? Do not lose your capacity for outrage!
RUSSIA FALLS BACK ON CONSPIRACY TO DEFEND ITSELF
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports that following the beating of an aide to opposition leader Alexey Navalny was beaten with a pipe on the streets, the Kremlin has fallen back on a standard conspiracy to defend itself, claiming “the attack was a false-flag operation orchestrated by the target himself.” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “A suspect detained in connection with the attack has claimed that Nikolai Lyaskin, head of the Moscow campaign headquarters for Navalny’s 2018 presidential bid, promised him 150,000 rubles ($2,500) to stage the attack against him and another individual, according to police.” Of course the aide, Nikolai “Lyaskin dismissed the suspect’s false-flag claim as ridiculous.” Lyaskin said to Ekho Moskvy radio, “This is some kind of savage absurdity”. And that is so-called modern Russia.

PUTIN VISITS YANDEX; YANDEX BARS “OTHERWISE APOLITICAL EMPLOYEE”
Meduza reports, “Vladimir Putin visited Yandex’s Moscow office on Thursday, in order to congratulate the search engine giant on its 20th anniversary.” For the very most special occasion, “At least one staff member, a man named Alexey Sokiro, was barred access to the office during Putin’s visit, because he is apparently on a ‘blacklist.’ On September 16, Sokiro, an otherwise apolitical person, wrote on Facebook that he would spit in the president’s face, if he saw him in Yandex’s office.” Now, the key words here that make this so very Russian are not what you imagine, but if you know Russia, you know they are indeed “an otherwise apolitical person”. This serves a few functions: a) if you dislike the president, you are not alone; b) he is innocent of charges of provocation; c) it potentially scares otherwise apolitical persons to keep this kind of talk confined to the kitchen. Because the people are so excited about their great and glorious leader, Meduza reports, “staff were actually permitted to stay home on the day of Putin’s visit.” Wait the people are not waiting, screaming, throwing their panties at him like the arrival of The Beatles in America? The propaganda is wrong! Oh, no way.
IN HER WORDS: JOURNALIST YULIA LATYNINA ON WHY SHE FLED RUSSIA
In The Moscow Times, recently exiled Russian journalist Yulia Latynina writes on why she fled Russia. Latynina writes, “In July, someone released some sort of gas into our family home. For about a week, Russian police held watch near our house. When they left I felt at ease, thinking the attackers had considered it a signal. But apparently they didn’t. In August they set alight my car, which was parked near the house. My father doused the flames so that the house wouldn’t catch fire. Had the car exploded it would have cost him his life. So we left. I cannot risk my parents’ lives. I don’t think the goal was to kill me or my parents, but once the ball starts rolling such attacks can have unforeseeable consequences. I left because I was horrified by people’s lack of responsibility.” Read the whole thing to understand your future and the rationalization of prior political violence if this Russian coup continues apace because we will lose our state and we will lose everything. We cannot let this become our future or do anything but rollback and contain Russia now. Our hard times look nothing like Russia’s and Russia is headed for some hard times.
