Foreign Policy has “the Memo the Kremlin-Linked Lawyer Took to the Meeting with Donald Trump Jr.,” because here we are that Trump trash family is still squatting in the White House and there is even a discussion was there collusion? Foreign Policy reports, “Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya arrived at a June 2016 meeting with Donald Trump Jr. armed with a set of talking points arguing American officials were hoodwinked into slapping human rights sanctions on Russia in 2012 and that efforts to expand those measures would hurt relations between Washington and Moscow.” Wait, what about adoptions!? Oh right, that was the bullshit smokescreen for the Russians whining we want money, give us money and the Trump trash klan saying the same goddamn thing (ok, we do not know that second half, but we sort of do). Because the Kremlin does not believe in truth, Foreign Policy reports, “Veselnitskaya made the case that the American businessman Bill Browder perpetrated a massive scheme of tax fraud against the Russian state and then launched a global campaign claiming that his companies had in fact been defrauded by Russian officials — and that they had killed the lawyer Sergei Magnitsky in order to cover it up.” Yes, Browder killed his lawyer INSIDE A RUSSIAN JAIL. That makes perfect sense if you huff enough Russian crazy. Recall, the June 9, 2016 meeting at Trump Tower was attended by “White House senior advisor [and official son-in-law, princeling] Jared Kushner and then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort,” as well as, “a Russian-American lobbyist, Rinat Akhmetshin, with ties to Russian intelligence.”  You can read the four-page memo in full, marked “Confidential”. The first reference to Magnitsky places lawyer in quotes, just to give you a sense. Worth the read, especially as the Kremlin’s favorite Congressman Dana Rohrabacher is mentioned towards the end.

CNN reports, “House and Senate investigators are turning their attention to a Republican operative’s hunt for Hillary Clinton’s private emails from Russian hackers — and his possible connections to senior members of the Trump campaign. The operative, Peter W. Smith, was an Illinois-based Republican activist who during the presidential campaign sought to obtain emails he believed were likely stolen by Russian hackers from Clinton’s private email server. He later was found dead in an apparent suicide weeks after telling a reporter,” Shane Harris of The Wall Street Journal, “about his efforts.” According to CNN, “The House panel has interviewed Matt Tait, the British security analyst who was recruited by Smith, and Jonathan Safron, a law student who worked as Smith’s assistant. The Senate committee has reached out to Eric York, another security expert Smith enlisted in his email hunt, according to a source familiar with the matter.” CNN adds, “Two of the groups he determined were Russian,” noting Smith told The Wall Street Journal, “We knew the people who had these were probably around the Russian government”. Ten days later he was found dead in an apparent suicide with a note that alleged, somewhat dubiously, that there was “no foul play”. Smith said he had instructed the groups to give what they had to WikiLeaks. There is also a question of Smith’s connection to Michael Flynn, the ousted National Security Advisor, as it is clear, “the two men knew each other,” in the words of The Wall Street Journal’s Harris, as well as former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.

Newsweek reports, “Ivanka Trump was reportedly a key player in getting Michael Flynn appointed to serve in her father’s White House, praising his ‘amazing loyalty’ just days after Donald Trump was elected president.” Recall Flynn was ousted after just 24 days as National Security Advisor after provoking the highest level of alarm among that national security establishment for his frightening ties to Russia and other shady figures in Turkey. Newsweek, citing an excerpt from a lengthy profile of Mike Pence in The New Yorker (well worth the read on its own), reports, Aryan princess Ivanka “was serving on the presidential transition team’s executive council when she interrupted a meeting led by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on November 11 to introduce Flynn,” then she “took over” the meeting to ask just one question: “General, what job do you want? One source present at the meeting told The New Yorker, “It was like Princess Ivanka had laid the sword on Flynn’s shoulders and said, ‘Rise and go forth’”. Horror.

CNN reports, “The FBI posted a document Monday that suggests former FBI Director James Comey began drafting what became his infamous July 2016 statement about Hillary Clinton’s private server months ahead of time, releasing a heavily redacted copy of the exchange.”

The Washington Post reports, “An emotional Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) launched a thinly veiled critique of President Trump’s global stewardship Monday night, using a notable award ceremony to condemn ‘people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems.’”  The Washington Post adds, “McCain said that ‘some half-baked, spurious nationalism’ should be considered ‘as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.’” The Washington Post notes, “The 2008 Republican presidential nominee spoke with Independence Hall in his line of sight, having just been awarded the Liberty Medal by the National Constitution Center, a nonpartisan institution built across the street from the spot where the Founding Fathers debated the nation’s future.” To give the event a bipartisan touch, “The award was presented by Joe Biden, the former vice president who served 22 years in the Senate with McCain.” TRUMPISTAN WATCH’s favorite part from the speech: “We live in a land made of ideals, not blood and soil.  We are the custodians of those ideals at home, and their champion abroad. We have done great good in the world. That leadership has had its costs, but we have become incomparably powerful and wealthy as we did. We have a moral obligation to continue in our just cause, and we would bring more than shame on ourselves if we don’t. We will not thrive in a world where our leadership and ideals are absent. We wouldn’t deserve to.”

The New York Law Journal reports, “Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance, Jr. will have an outside independent auditor review how his office handles campaign donations”. According to The New York Law Journal, “Vance said the Columbia Law School-based Center for the Advancement of Public Integrity will conduct a 90-day review of donations and present the office with a recommendation for how to handle them moving forward.” Duck and cover. Recall, Vance is under fire for the perception or the reality that campaign contributions made to him lead to him sidestepping the prosecution of Trump hellspawn Aryan princess Ivanka and Donald “Uday” Trump Jr. for real estate fraud in connection with hyping sales on the undersold Trump SoHo as well as Harvey Weinstein, the recently disgraced Hollywood mogul and high profile DNC donor who has seen his reputation besieged by an avalanche of accusations of harassment, assault and rape. We live in a wonderful country with rule of law, albeit it might not always appear to be so or actually is the case. Isn’t it always a bit sad when we learn how little it costs to corrupt?

The Guardian reports, “The journalist who led the Panama Papers investigation into corruption in Malta was killed on Monday in a car bomb near her home. Daphne Caruana Galizia died on Monday afternoon when her car, a Peugeot 108, was destroyed by a powerful explosive device which blew the car into several pieces and threw the debris into a nearby field.” Now Malta learns the real cost of who it invited into the country in the most tragic form possible. Galizia’s “blogs were a thorn in the side of both the establishment and underworld figures that hold sway in Europe’s smallest member state,” and “Her most recent revelations pointed the finger at Malta’s prime minister, Joseph Muscat, and two of his closest aides, connecting offshore companies linked to the three men with the sale of Maltese passports and payments from the government of Azerbaijan,” according to The Guardian. This is how it works folks, the negligence of corrupt officials leads to their people being killed as if a foreign adversary in their own land. For his part, The Guardian reports, “Muscat condemned the ‘barbaric attack’, saying he had asked police to reach out to other countries’ security services for help identifying the perpetrators.” Yes, corruption kills. As The Guardian notes, “Galizia, who claimed to have no political affiliations, set her sights on a wide range of targets, from banks facilitating money laundering to links between Malta’s online gaming industry and the Mafia,” which is why her death finds its way into TRUMPISTAN WATCH. The Panama Papers exposed many tied to the Kremlin. The Guardian writes, “Galizia was 53 and leaves a husband and three sons.” WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange has offer 20,000 pounds reward for information, and as we know he is full of shit, you can draw the line to his mother Russia.

NBC News reports, “The Senate Intelligence Committee has requested documents and testimony from Michael G. Flynn, the son of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, but has not received a response”. The committee is particularly “interested in Flynn’s work as his father’s aide and travel companion with Flynn Intel Group, the consulting firm retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn formed after he left government service”. NBC News notes, “The younger Flynn, 34, accompanied his father on a 2015 trip to Moscow, where the elder Flynn sat next to Vladimir Putin at a dinner to celebrate Russia’s state-funded media network, RT. The younger Flynn can be seen in video from an associated event.” Lock him up!

Reuters reports, “The U.S. political research firm,” Fusion GPS, “that commissioned a dossier on Donald Trump while he was running for president,” known as the Steele dossier, “said on Monday it would not comply with subpoenas issued by the U.S. House of Representatives Intelligence Committee,” because they were issued by interference generator and rogue representative DARKNESS AT NUNES. Reuters adds, “Lawyers for Fusion GPS, which hired former British spy Christopher Steele to produce the Trump research, told the committee’s Republican chairman, U.S. Representative Devin Nunes, in a letter that the subpoenas were flawed and that nothing in the subpoenas indicated the intelligence committee had authorized him to issue them.” Everyone call shenanigans on DARKNESS AT NUNES because you are correct to do so!   The subpoena itself sounds bonkers as Reuters adds it “ordered the Central Intelligence Agency to produce documents but pointed out that the Fusion GPS firm and its representatives who received subpoenas have no relationship with the CIA.” You can read the lawyers’ 17 page denunciation of DARKNESS AT NUNES at Business Insider.

Yesterday’s TRUMPISTAN WATCH featured a brief item on a man previously employed as a Russian troll who was interviewed by TV Rain about his work on the troll farm. Meduza translated much more from this report on “Maxim,” who “employment records confirm that he spent 18 months at 55 Savushkina in St. Petersburg, working for the Internet Research Agency (IRA), Russia’s infamous ‘troll factory.’” Yesterday we learned the trolls’ primary role was to exacerbate and muddy discussion on hot button political and culture wars issues of the day, as the “goal wasn’t to turn the Americans toward Russia,” but rather, “to set Americans against their own government: to provoke unrest and discontent, and to lower Obama’s support ratings,” but today Meduza’s deeper dives gives a glimpse into the IRA’s Fakebook operations. According to Maxim, “A separate ‘Facebook desk’ supposedly battled endlessly with the website’s administrators, who regularly deleted their fake accounts just as IRA staff managed to ‘develop’ them into supposedly powerhouse influencers (accounts with many friends and posts). IRA staff challenged these decisions, Max said. Facebook staff would write to them, saying, ‘You are trolls,’ and the agency would respond, invoking the U.S. Constitution, and arguing that they believed in what they were doing, and were entitled to free speech. Sometimes they even won, according to Max.” Doesn’t that sound like Facebook knew much more about what was happening on their platform than they have let on… and laughed all the way to the proverbial bank to cash the checks?

Fortune solicits advice from women leaders in business, including Shideh Sedgh Bina, a founding partner of consultancy Insigniam, the firm T Rex brought in to help destroy the State Department one “word cloud” at a time. What did she say that might reveal the company’s strategy on the hatchet job done to our State Department? According to Fortune, “the No. 1 lesson that comes up is that the company did not ‘get rid of the wrong people fast enough.’ Her advice: ‘I would look for people who are not aligned.’” Now imagine that ethos in Trumpworld unleashed on our diplomats. At least she is very forthcoming!? She believes in old fashioned hacking shit to pieces, not the modern cyber kind.

Reuters reports, “Sea trips between Vladivostok, Russia and isolated North Korea have resumed after a two-month break, with the transport of cargo,” citing a report in the Russian state-run RIA news agency. Reuters notes, “The ferry service was launched in May in spite of calls by the United States for countries to curtail relations with Pyongyang over its nuclear and missile programs.” Ukraine’s fault, surely.
