The Washington Post reports, “Some rumors suggest that Putin may finally announce his candidacy on Thursday.”

Reuters reports, “U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions refused on Wednesday to answer lawmakers’ questions about his discussions with President Donald Trump on Russia and denied lying to Congress about his own contacts with Russians during the 2016 election campaign. In often testy exchanges with Senate Democrats, Sessions denied having misled them when he said during his Senate confirmation hearing earlier this year that he had not met with Russian officials during the presidential campaign.” Recall, “Sessions was forced to recuse himself from investigations into Russian interference in the election and possible collusion by Trump campaign aides after it was revealed in March that he met with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak at least twice in 2016,” from “U.S. intelligence agencies… intercepts in which Kislyak told the Kremlin he had held substantive discussions with Sessions”. Additionally The Washington Post reports, “Attorney General Jeff Sessions rebuffed repeated requests from Democratic lawmakers Wednesday to detail his conversations with President Trump on the firing of FBI Director James B. Comey in May.” As one commentator and professor Seth Abramson wrote on Twitter in sentiments wholly echoed and felt by TRUMPISTAN WATCH, “I’m at a loss: Sessions made *big* news today—he spoke to Kislyak about sanctions at the RNC *and* in September—and no one is discussing it.” And his nominal boss, the fake Russian president, Twitler, spewed a bunch of covfefe on the antisocial network as well.

The Daily Beast reports, “Some of the Trump campaign’s most prominent names and supporters, including Trump’s campaign manager, digital director and son, pushed tweets from professional trolls paid by the Russian government in the heat of the 2016 election campaign. The Twitter account @Ten_GOP, which called itself the ‘Unofficial Twitter account of Tennessee Republicans,’ was operated from the Kremlin-backed ‘Russian troll farm,’ or Internet Research Agency”. The Daily Beast notes, “The account’s origins in the Internet Research Agency were originally reported by the independent Russian news outlet RBC.” The Daily Beast adds, “@Ten_GOP was created on November 19, 2015, and accumulated over 100 thousand followers before Twitter shut it down,” for being run by the troll farm. Note, “Two days before election day, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway tweeted a post by @Ten_GOP regarding Hillary Clinton’s email,” which read, “Mother of jailed sailor: ‘Hold Hillary to same standards as my son on Classified info’ #hillarysemail #WeinerGate”. Additionally, “Three weeks before the election, Brad Parscale, the Trump campaign’s digital director, retweeted a separate post from @Ten_GOP,” which read, “Thousands of deplorables chanting to the media: ‘Tell The Truth!’ RT if you are also done w/ biased Media!” and “President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. followed the account”. The Daily Beast notes, “Trump Jr. retweeted the account three times, including an allegation of voter fraud in Florida one week before the election.” Meanwhile, “Former Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn retweeted the Russian-backed troll account at least once. His son, Michael Flynn Jr., retweeted the account 34 times”. Furthermore, “Last March the account was one of the most active in promoting WikiLeaks’ first big release of CIA documents, using the occasion to float the false claim that the so-called ‘Vault 7’ documents acquitted Russia in the hack of the Democratic National Committee,” and “Overt Russian propaganda outlets Sputnik and RT frequently used @Ten_GOP’s tweets in their news stories, including a story titled ‘Russia has no compromising info on Trump or Clinton, report is ‘total bluff’ — Kremlin.’” And of course, “Far right news sites The Gateway Pundit and InfoWars quoted the account in articles several times.” What an ecosystem! And in the middle, Trump’s puppet master in the Kremlin! Meanwhile complicating the picture for Twitter, The Washington Post adds, “Michael Sullivan, executive director of the Tennessee Republican Party — whose verified Twitter handle is @TNGOP — said his group had complained to Twitter about the account in September of last year, as well as in March and August.”

Bloomberg reports, “legislation is gaining traction in the Senate that would impose new disclosure requirements for political advertising on Facebook, Twitter, Google and other social media,” with Senator John McCain giving “a big boost to a proposal by Democratic Senators Amy Klobuchar and Mark Warner to require disclosure of who’s paying for online political ads, announcing he’ll co-sponsor the bill.” Bloomberg notes, “While televised political ads require disclosure of who paid for them, there are no such requirements for social media networks. The proposal by Klobuchar and Warner is intended to bring social media ads up to the broadcast standard.” Additionally, “Bipartisan efforts also are under way to protect voting machines and databases from cyber intrusions and to more easily identify Russian attempts at influencing U.S. elections by requiring shell companies to disclose their owners,” Bloomberg notes. Tech companies want none of this because they are so apolitical and driven by ideas as to have not absorbed the fact that the ground has shifted underneath them.

The Globe and Mail reports, “Canada became the fourth country to adopt a Magnitsky law on Wednesday when Bill S-226 received royal assent. The legislation is named after Russian whistle-blower Sergei Magnitsky, who accused Russian officials of a massive tax-fraud regime before being beaten to death in a Moscow jail in 2009, and is meant to sanction human-rights abusers around the world.” The Globe and Mail adds, “a Canadian government official said Russian and Venezuelan human-rights abusers are expected to be among those sanctioned by the law over the coming weeks. While the official would not say who the sanctions will specifically target, they said Canada will consult the United States’ law, which has sanctioned 44 people since 2012. Britain and Estonia have also passed Magnitsky-style sanctions.”

The Moscow Times reports, “Russian senators have drawn up a list of five U.S.-based media outlets, including CNN, whose activities in Russia could be restricted in response to a requirement to have the American branch of Russia’s state-funded RT television channel register as a foreign agent.” According to The Moscow Times, “Federation Council state sovereignty committee head Andrei Klimov named CNN, Radio Liberty and Voice of America as likely targets to face the axe in Russia,” and “Other outlets at risk are The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Radio Liberty’s Crimean project”.

Russian state-run TASS reports, “Journalist and TV host Ksenia Sobchak on Wednesday announced plans to run for Russian president next year.” Because she is allowed, and is also the daughter of the late former St. Petersburg mayor Anatoly Sobchak who served as Putin’s mentor, and Navalny is not, you know this is Putin’s foil for 2018. Let’s all hope our intelligence community is ginning up the juice real nice to fuck with Russia in their fake elections, as they deserve it. Would be wonderful to see Ms. Sobchak cruise to an unexpected victory, serve Western interests and halt their whole system for months on end. Oh fantasy, it and humor are how we survive these dire days of late! On her pre-election website, she said, “My name is Ksenia Sobchak. I am running for Russian president,” as if anybody in Russia does not know who she is. Get ready to see how women are really treated in Russia, world! You think it is shit in America, oh you just wait, everything is worse and more degraded in Russia except maybe the cynicism, that is well-nurtured and very well tended to.

CNN reports, “President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski appeared on Capitol Hill for a closed-door interview with the Senate intelligence committee Wednesday”. CNN notes, “Lewandowski said earlier this year that he did not have any contact with Russian officials and if there was contact made by Manafort or others on the campaign, Trump did not know about it.” Bullshit. It is just a coincidental hoax that almost everyone on the campaign and now fired from the administration had some ties to Russia?

From CNN.

POLITICO reports, “Officials from Fusion GPS, the firm that commissioned the disputed dossier on President Donald Trump’s connections to Russia, came to the Capitol Wednesday to meet with the House Intelligence Committee and refused to offer any testimony”. POLITICO notes, “company officials had cooperated with previous requests from Congress, and its founder, Glenn Simpson, testified for 10 hours before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Company officials have complained that Nunes is attempting to compel them to disclose who funded their opposition research on Trump”. DARKNESS AT NUNES!

The AP reports, “Google has briefed the House and Senate intelligence committees ahead of two Nov. 1 hearings that will examine Russian efforts to influence U.S. elections through social media. Officials from Google talked to investigators behind closed doors in recent weeks as part of the committees’ probes into Russian meddling in last year’s election”.

For the Trumpistani elite, consequences are largely perceived as something for the plebes, like taxes or other forms of personal responsibility. As such, The Washington Times reports on the myriad ways Trumpistani elites are lashing out because who is a snowflake again? Accordingly, “Instead of expensive legal actions, they are representing themselves in what might be considered unconventional actions through court, ethics and FBI complaints.” We are supposed to think the Trumpistani elites are creative! Do no think this. The Washington Times adds “Michael Caputo, a Trump campaign communication adviser, has filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Rep. Jackie Speier.” Bonus points in Trumpistani elite world for trying to silence a woman! Speier hurt poor man Caputo by saying he was Putin’s “image consultant” and accusing him of lying under oath. Meanwhile, Carter “Page is representing himself in a libel suit he filed in New York City against Yahoo News and HuffPost,” and J.D. Gordon “filed complaints with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) against two college professors and a cybernews site.” Trump lawyer Michael Cohen “was set to appear in private before the Senate intelligence committee, he released his opening statement bashing the dossier as a piece of fiction. His breach of protocol so angered Chairman Richard Burr, North Carolina Republican, that the senator canceled the session. Mr. Cohen went back to New York knowing his gambit became the news media’s storyline that day.” The Washington Times notes Cohen “also directed his lawyers to explore filing a libel suit against BuzzFeed.” Street fighters or whiny entitled snowflakes who fear consequences of their actions: you decide.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “Evidence of widespread efforts in Russian schools to warn students about supporting opposition leader Aleksei Navalny keeps rolling in. The latest known incident comes from the Far East city of Khabarovsk, where a school director reportedly warned a 15-year-old student that Russian security services would look into his support for Navalny, who the administrator claimed is a tool in a U.S. plot against Russia.” See how hopeless Russia is? Of course nowadays, “9th-grader Timur Valiullin surreptitiously recorded a meeting he had with school officials about his political activities, including Olga Kodina, director of 202nd Airborne Brigade Multidisciplinary Lyceum in Khabarovsk,” so denial is not an option, no wait it still is, it is Russia, but is it effective? In the recording, “At one point, Kodina warns that if Valiullin doesn’t behave ‘quietly,’ Russia’s powerful Federal Security Service (FSB) will ‘look into him.’ She suggests he has attempted to recruit fellow students into a ‘cult’ and accuses him of disseminating pro-Navalny ‘propaganda’ at the school.” In essence, she accused the boy of ideological subversion and cult-like indoctrination to use the Soviet nomenclature.

The Washington Post reports, “Former Soviet gymnast Tatiana Gutsu, the all-around champion at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, added her voice Tuesday to a growing number of women sharing their stories of sexual assault and sexual harassment with a public post on Facebook accusing a former teammate and fellow gold medalist of raping her when she was 15 years old.” According to The Washington Post, “In the post, Gutsu, now 41, says the sexual assault took place while competing at a team event in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1991, and she alleges male gymnast Vitaly Sherbo, who would have been 19 at the time”. The Washington Post adds, “Gutsu, who retired abruptly from gymnastics following the 1992 Games and later moved to the United States, also calls out Rustam Sharipov, a 1996 Olympic gold medalist, and Tatyana Toropova in the Facebook post for knowing about the assault and not supporting her.” The Washington Post notes, “Sharipov, a Ukrainian like Gutsu, also competed for the Unified Team in 1992 and is now the head coach of the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team,” and “Scherbo currently owns a gymnastics school in Las Vegas”. Also what’s with all these former Soviet Olympic medalists fleeing to live in safety, security, prosperity and freedom in the West? It is as if socialism and the Soviet Union were little more than a glorious lie.
