KURT VOLKER IN UKRAINE

The Kyiv Post reports, “Special Representative of the U.S. Department of State for Ukraine Kurt Volker will visit Kyiv on Oct. 27, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.” It is expected he will meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

PAYMENT DAY FOR VENEZUELA’S STATE OIL COMPANY PDVSA

Reuters reports, “Bonds issued by Venezuela and state oil firm PDVSA dropped sharply in price on Thursday amid concern that cash-flow problems and regulatory hurdles may leave PDVSA unable to make more than $2 billion in payments coming due over the next week. Delays in making some $500 million in coupon payments on several bonds, along with confusion about what is causing those delays, has left investors jittery over a possible ‘credit event’ when payments come due on Friday and on Nov. 2.” This is relevant to our saga here as Reuters reports, “The 2020 bond is backed by shares in U.S. refiner and fuel distributor Citgo, which could be targeted by creditors if Friday’s payment is not made on time.” Not stated who the primary creditor is: Rosneft.

TRUMP NOT ENFORCING RUSSIA SANCTIONS, WILL MEET PUTIN AGAIN

CNN reports, “Top Senate Republicans are pledging to find out if the White House is intentionally delaying new sanctions on Moscow as the Trump administration is several weeks past a congressionally-imposed deadline to identify top Russian officials involved in political cybermeddling.” CNN notes, “Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, said the administration is acting ‘as if they are unilateral.’” CNN adds, “The delay comes as Trump prepares to see Russian President Vladimir Putin for the second time face-to-face during a summit meeting in Vietnam.” Viet-fucking-nam! That location is not a coincidence! The war in Vietnam literally divided a generation of Americans, just as Trump’s treasonous fake presidency is dividing the nation. Vietnam: the war that never stops giving… to Russia.

WHITE HOUSE RESPONDS TO CONGRESS OVER RUSSIA SANCTIONS

The New York Times reports, “Under pressure from Republicans and Democrats, the Trump administration on Thursday turned over to Congress a list of Russia-connected entities it will use to determine new sanctions meant to rebuke Russia for actions in Eastern Europe, Syria and the 2016 United States presidential election.” The New York Times notes, “The list appeared to be an attempt to mollify critics — including Senators John McCain, Republican of Arizona, and Benjamin L. Cardin, Democrat of Maryland — who said that the administration had not moved quickly enough to punish a key American adversary.” According to The New York Times, “The list reads like a who’s who of the Russian defense and intelligence sectors. It includes the United Aircraft Corporation, which makes Sukhoi jets and Tupolev passenger airliners; Kalashnikov Concern, which makes the famed assault weapon used around the world; and Rosoboronexport, which is the chief state-owned arms exporter in the country.”

STATE DEPARTMENT SHUTTERS SANCTIONS OFFICE

Not only is Russia not facing the sanctions that were passed, Foreign Policy reports, “The State Department shuttered an office that oversees sanctions policy, even as the Donald Trump administration faces criticism from lawmakers over its handling of new economic penalties against Russia.” According to Foreign Policy, “Secretary of State Rex Tillerson eliminated the Coordinator for Sanctions Policy office, which had been led by a veteran ambassador-rank diplomat with at least five staff, as part of an overhaul of the department”. Horrible.  Foreign Policy notes, “Instead, the role of coordinating U.S. sanctions across the State Department and other government agencies now falls to just one mid-level official — David Tessler, the deputy director of the Policy Planning Office.” Retired Ambassador Daniel Fried, who coordinated sanctions policy until February of this year, cautions against blowing T Rex’s reorganization out of proportion. “You can’t read into that a lack of commitment to sanctions,” Fried said, adding, “It’s not as if [the administration] is gutting sanctions altogether.” We will see about that.

FAKEBOOK + POLITICO HELPED CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA

The Guardian reports, “Cambridge Analytica used its own database and voter information collected from Facebook and news publishers in its effort to help elect Donald Trump, despite a claim by a top campaign official who has downplayed the company’s role in the election.” According to The Guardian, “One of the company’s strategies was to work in ‘collaboration’ with news publishers like Politico, the political news website, which [the head of Cambridge Analytica digital Molly] Schweickert said helped the company target a political ad about the Clinton Foundation to readers in key battleground states.” Shitbirds, Fakebook and POLITICO, or is it CORRUPTO now? Shameful how everyone sold our future and now we must fight tooth and nail to recover at a loss of time, energy, and months of our lives. Here is to Fakebook and CORRUPTO management enjoying the good life! Enjoy your champagne and caviar or whatever the hell it is they are devouring in lieu of our future. Hope it’s tasty, assholes!

TWITTER BANS RT, SPUTNIK ADVERTISING BUT NOT TROLLS, NAZIS

TechCrunch reports, “Twitter has banned Russian media companies Russia Today (RT) and Sputnik from advertising on its service after it found that both had ‘attempted to interfere with the [2016 U.S.] election on behalf of the Russian government’ using the social network.” Note November 1 the tech companies responsible in part for our plight as a nation are to meet Congress – or rather their General Counsel because leadership is not something tech does so much as talk about — so this is a bid for good publicity beforehand. In a statement, however, the company claims, “This decision was based on the retrospective work we’ve been doing around the 2016 U.S. election and the U.S. intelligence community’s conclusion that both RT and Sputnik attempted to interfere with the election on behalf of the Russian government,” but that report came out in January and last check, it is October. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced, “added that it will donate the revenue it has received from RT advertising efforts — which it puts at $1.9 million to date — to fund research into the use of its service in civic engagement and elections,” which is a small price to pay to cover one’s ass. Tech Crunch notes, “RT’s head of social media earlier suggested Twitter had encouraged the media outlet to run advertising around the election.” They are not banning trolls or Nazis or bots, so plenty of ways for the Russians to continue to weaponize the antisocial network.

TWITTER URGED FIRMS TO DELETE DATA DURING 2016 ELECTION

POLITICO reports, “Twitter quietly ramped up a campaign last year to permanently delete some user data from its social media platform and the files of commercial firms using it, raising concerns that the policy would help Russian cyberspies suspected of meddling in the 2016 election cover their tracks.” According to POLITICO, “In June and September of 2016, the company posted updates to its privacy policy and user agreements that reminded firms that when anyone deleted or revised tweets – or closed accounts – that all others with access to them would have to destroy any trace of them as well. If they failed to comply, the company warned, they risked being cut off from the Twitter data base.” POLITICO adds, “Samuel Woolley, an information warfare expert who was director of the Oxford University’s Computational Propaganda Research Team, questioned the timing of the directives, saying they came after he and associates had repeatedly warned Twitter officials that the existing deletion policy already was undermining their efforts – and those of many other researchers – to determine the extent of Russia’s attempts to manipulate the social media platform,” where disinformation, conspiracy, lies, bullshit, innuendo and presumably some very fine something or other spreads rapidly. This is the reality of the company, the one that operates as it wants to when not under federal scrutiny. Everything else is PR.

DEPUTY AG ROD ROSENSTEIN CREDITS AMERICANS WITH FALSE AGENCY

POLITICO reports, “The Justice Department official overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible complicity of President Donald Trump’s campaign in Russian efforts to influence last year’s election said in an interview released Wednesday that he doubts advertising by foreign countries would affect American voters.” That’s crazy because nobody ever spent money on advertising so it would have zero effect. Americans are consumers first, lemmings second, and keen on attributing a false sense of agency to themselves third. If you doubt this: look at who is squatting in the White House. According to POLITICO, “You know, American citizens are pretty savvy, and they decide who to vote for. I don’t think they’d be influenced by ads posted by foreign governments,” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told J.J. Green, a national security reporter for WTOP-FM,” a Washington radio station. Savvy? The American people? Oh, dear. Has he been out of the beltway and into the backwoods, or, rather the heartland in his life?

…AS WE LEARN RUSSIANS TRIED ORGANIZING ANTI-TRUMP PROTESTS TOO

BuzzFeed reports, “People believed to be Russians meddling in American politics swiftly chose a new target in the days after the 2016 election: trying to organize anti-Trump rallies, according to private messages from a page aimed at black civil rights activists that has been linked to a wider Russian effort.” BuzzFeed notes, “The BlackMatters page also sent a poster for the ‘Charlotte Against Trump’ rally on Nov. 19, 2016”. Of course this “offers a glimpse at a Russian campaign that was not simply aimed at American elections, but also at deepening rifts in American society that echoes century-old Soviet exploitation of domestic American injustice,” BuzzFeed notes. Also, “In New York, BlackMattersUS attempted to organize a protest on Dec. 3, centered around the electoral college,” that about 15 people allegedly showed up for. So now, think back and ask yourself if you are certain Russia had nothing to do with Jill Stein’s recount effort or the Women’s March. If you are certain, don’t be.

INTERPOL TELLS NATIONS IGNORE BROWDER NOTICES

Bloomberg reports, “Interpol rejected Russia’s request to arrest Hermitage Capital Management founder Bill Browder, telling member states to ignore an attempt by Moscow to pursue the fund manager through the organization.” Bloomberg notes, “Browder said Thursday that he’d received a letter from Interpol’s Commission for the Control of Files, the body responsible for vetting data, informing him of its decision to dismiss Russia’s request to put him on the organization’s wanted list. It’s the fifth time Interpol has blocked Russia’s attempts to issue notices to arrest Browder”.

NATO CONCERNS ABOUT RUSSIAN PHONE JAMMING OF ALLIES
The Washington Post
reports, “NATO allies have raised concerns about what they call Russia’s use of a kind of electronic warfare during military exercises last month that jammed some phone networks, alliance Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Thursday.” The Washington Post notes, “Phone services in Latvia, Norway and Sweden’s Oeland islands were reported to have been shut down for a few hours during the Sept. 14-20 Zapad exercises that Russia held with Belarus. The jamming is suspected to have been launched by a Russian communications ship from the Baltic Sea.”

RUSSIA CONDUCTS BALLISTIC MISSILE TESTS

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “Russia conducted several ballistic missile tests on October 26 from ‘land, air and sea’ as part of its strategic nuclear program, the Defense Ministry said.” In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said, “A Topol intercontinental ballistic missile was fired from the Plesetsk testing ground in northwestern Russia”. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty notes, “Three ballistic missiles were launched by two nuclear missile submarines (SSBNs), two from the Okhotsk Sea, north of Japan, and one from the Barents Sea, in the Arctic Ocean.” Just consider this a reminder of the folly of Obama’s nuclear zero speech and policy in a world in which Russia exists.

MISSILES FOR LITHUANIA

The AP reports, “Lithuania, which borders Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave, has signed a contract to get a permanent surface-to-air missile system within three years,” adding, “Eirik Lie of Norway’s Kongsberg company said Lithuania had chosen its NASAMS system.”

RUSSIAN ELECTION CIRCUS: NAVALNY WON’T CRITICIZE SOBCHAK

So if you have your Russian election circus scorecard out, you have probably already noted Ksenia Sobchak, the daughter of Putin’s political mentor Anatoly Sobchak, has vowed not to criticize Putin as Putin helped Daddy out in tough times. Now The Moscow Times reports, “Russia’s opposition leader and presidential hopeful Alexei Navalny has said he won’t criticize celebrity Ksenia Sobchak’s bid for the top office because it would indulge the Kremlin.”

SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE REPORTEDLY STEPS UP INVESTIGATION

Yesterday TRUMPISTAN WATCH ran an item, “Et tu, Chuck Grassley?” questioning the future of the Senate judiciary committee’s investigation after news that a partisan rift had developed between committee leaders. Today BuzzFeed reports, “A congressional committee investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election has stepped up its probe over the past month, requesting that an agency that combats financial crime turn over confidential banking information on nearly 40 individuals and businesses”. According to BuzzFeed, “Senator Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network — FinCEN for short — on September 29, seeking information about any suspicious financial transactions banks may have flagged on the individuals and businesses since Jan 2015.” However, BuzzFeed notes, “the top Democrat on the committee,” Dianne “Feinstein did not sign the letter to FinCEN.” Which 40 individuals and businesses? Well, the list includes, Rinat Akhmetshin, and Natalia Veselnitskaya (of the infamous June 9, 2016 Trump Tower meeting with tykes Donald “Uday” Trump Jr., princeling Jared and then campaign manager Paul Manfort), Robert Arakelian (who works for Akhmetshin), the Human Rights Accountability Global Initiative Foundation (which worked to counter the Magnitsky Act), Glenn Simpson, Thomas Catan, Peter Fritsch and Fusion GPS, Christopher Steele, Perkins Coie (which paid Fusion GPS), Prevezon Holdings and its legal counsel at Baker Hostetler, John Moscow and Mark Cymrot.

…AS GOP REPORTEDLY “WINDS DOWN” COLLUSION NON-INVESTIGATIONS

POLITICO reports, “Republican lawmakers say they’re approaching the end of their investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election even though the most politically explosive issue — whether associates of President Donald Trump colluded with the Kremlin — remains unresolved.” POLITICO reports, “That will present Democrats who have spent a year amplifying suspicions about Trump’s own ties to Russia with a wrenching choice: to join Republicans and set aside the most momentous aspect of their probes — or to break from the GOP and end any chance of presenting a united front against a continuing Russian threat.” POLITICO adds, “Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) has suggested his panel’s investigation will end early next year, emphasizing that he wants to wrap up by February, ahead of the first 2018 primary elections.” POLITICO notes, “His panel still has a long list of witnesses to interview,” but “he’s hinted it’s possible the report will find no evidence of collusion between Trump allies and Moscow.” Additionally, “Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas), who’s leading the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia probe, told POLITICO this week that he hopes to finish before the Senate.” Accordingly, “Conaway said he intends to seek a meeting with Burr, as well as the House and Senate committees’ top Democrats — Rep. Adam Schiff of California and Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia — to sketch out their panels’ conclusions and attempt to generally align their reports,” POLITICO reports. So they hope to subvert the process before the truth is reached and get Democrats to sign off. Good luck with that and thank you GOP for doing your part to smash U.S. sovereignty and ensure there is no future in freedom.

MICHAEL COHEN SWEARS CASH PROPERTY BUYERS ARE AMERICAN

McClatchy follows up on an item TRUMPISTAN WATCH carried from the news service yesterday about shady real estate dealings involving all cash payments at a considerable mark-up as Trump’s long time personal lawyer Michael Cohen flipped several New York properties. McClatchy reports, “Donald Trump’s personal attorney said Thursday there’s no mystery to his cash sale of four New York apartment buildings: The buyers were a family fund that put the proceeds from an earlier real estate transaction into his properties to defer paying taxes, as permitted by federal law.” McClatchy notes, “That information was not available in public land records.” Cohen told McClatchy, “The buyer of all four properties is a New York real estate family fund that has been around for almost a century,” adding, “And yes, they are American.”

FAKE PRESIDENT CAN ONLY DEAL WITH FAKE JOURNALISTS

Vox reports, “The last time President Donald Trump sat down with a nonpartisan journalist, he revealed to NBC News’s Lester Holt that his administration had been lying about why he fired FBI Director James Comey. The real reason, Trump revealed, was an effort to stymie the investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 election. That compelled the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller whose team has caused all sorts of trouble for Trump ever since. Consequently, Trump has spent the past few months sequestered with friendly journalists conducting softball interviews.” Trump went on Fox Business Wednesday night to speak with Lou Dobbs who asked “downright sycophantic” questions, which makes sense as Dobbs is a sycophant. In between questions, Vox notes, “you get Trump’s usual mishmash of gibberish, lies, and misstatements.” Then of course there is the fact that “Trump is so unable to either discuss this in policy terms or else demurely decline to speculate that he ends up reversing roles and asking Dobbs what he thinks,” Vox notes. Despite Dobbs’ cheerleading and softballs, Vox assesses Trump is “bopping along with more vulgarity and corruption and less discipline and policy knowledge than a normal president.” But for a Russian puppet, he is right on script.

FOREIGN NAZI WANTS U.S. TO EXECUTE TRUMP’S POLITICAL ENEMIES

Media Matters for America reports foreign-born Nazi “Sebastian Gorka says Hillary Clinton should be convicted of treason like the Rosenbergs,” in a headline. Remember: this man is literally a foreign Nazi and he used to work in the Whites Only Haus. This was of course on faux news Fox News – where else? Get him out of here!

KREMLIN SCUM ENVIES EVERYTHING ABOUT AMERICA

Yahoo! News notes the passing of Fats Domino with video of sad little Putin crooning Fats Domino’s “Blueberry Hill,” from several years ago because at the end of the day, poor Putin envies all that is America and wants it for himself but can’t have it as he rules over a toilet bowl nation. But he can buy the approval of celebrities! Gerard Depar-don’t is present, so is Goldie Pawn and Hurt Hustle (Kurt Russell) as well as some unfortunate losers named Kevin Costner and Sharon Stone. Seriously, what the hell is the matter with y’all? While it is a real joy to watch Putin suck on American black culture when he failed to appreciate, due to the burden of overwhelming racism, that Obama’s garbage Russia policy was the best thing that ever happened to him, if you watch the video, and you should, you get to hear the voice of diabolical evil. Do watch the video, it will carry you through the weekend and any doubts about American supremacy will be put to rest. Also worth note as there is Trumpian overlap: “Several months after the event in St Petersburg, the hospitals treating children with cancer that were expected to benefit from the proceeds reportedly had not received a penny, despite people allegedly paying up to £20,000 to attend the event.” Another coincidence! Or hoax! Question even more.
