—–ON THE AGENDA—–
RUSSIAN STATE-RUN RT MUST REGISTER AS A FOREIGN AGENT
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, Russian state-run RT was “given a November 13 deadline by the U.S. Justice Department to register under the U.S. Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). RT said it would go to court to challenge the measure.” According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, “The U.S. Justice Department, which has repeatedly refused to either confirm or deny ordering RT to register under FARA,” would not do so last week either. The Washington Post reports, “Russia plans new measures to restrict U.S. media organizations working here after a Russian English-language television channel said it was pressured into registering as a foreign agent in the United States”. The Washington Post adds, “State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said lawmakers will take up changes to the Russian law on foreign agents to extend it to the news media.” Of course that law has been used to go after Russian civil society organizations, notably those that receive foreign funding. The Washington Post notes, “Memorial, one of Russia’s oldest human rights groups, which for three decades has sought to expose Soviet mass killings and arrests, and the Levada Center, an independent polling agency, were registered as foreign agents by Russia’s Ministry of Justice. The organizations have disputed the decision.”
VOLKER + SURKOV MEETING IN BELGRADE
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “The U.S. envoy for efforts to end the Ukrainian conflict, Kurt Volker, is set to meet with Kremlin aide Vladislav Surkov on November 13 to explore deploying United Nations peacekeepers to eastern Ukraine.”
THE LONGER WE RESIST THE LIE THE LONGER WE RESIST SOVIETIZATION
By today, it should be no secret that our great fake Russian puppet president Donald Trump spent Veterans’ Day meeting with Vladimir Putin, in whose trust he reaffirmed his loyalty and allegiance to over veterans of our own intelligence community. In short, Trump is, in fact, scum of the earth. According to Business Insider, “‘He said he didn’t meddle. He said he didn’t meddle,’ Trump told reporters from Air Force One. ‘I asked him again. You can only ask so many times. I just asked him again. He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election. He did not do what they are saying he did.’” Trump believes a veteran of the KGB over the CIA – welcome to the total dystopia of our present reality. As “Trump fumed about the investigation aboard Air Force One on Saturday,” Business Insider notes he “called former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA director John Brennan, and former Director of Intelligence James Clapper ‘political hacks.’” In simple terms, Trump spent Veteran’s Day insulting veterans, again. Happy Veteran’s Day America from the Lubyanka shitstain allegedly in charge at the Whites Only Haus! If you are a patriot, say it all together: fuck you Russia! How long can this possibly go on for before something dramatic occurs?

EX-INTEL CHIEFS PUSH BACK ON TRUMP’S TREASON, OBVS
Vanity Fair reports former C.I.A. director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper both appeared on CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper on Sunday to hit back on Trump’s Veteran’s Day treason. Brennan said Trump’s actions “demonstrates to Mr. Putin that Donald Trump can be played by foreign leaders who are going to appeal to his ego and try to play upon his insecurities, which is very, very worrisome from a national security standpoint.” Clapper added, “He seems very susceptible to rolling out the red carpet and honor guards and all the trappings and pomp and circumstance that come with the office, and I think that appeals to him, and I think it plays to his insecurities”. Brennan noted, “I don’t know why the ambiguity about this,” adding, “Putin is committed to undermining our system, our democracy and our whole process. And to try paint it in any other way is, I think, astounding, and, in fact, poses a peril to this country.”

MEANWHILE SAD LITTLE MAN VOVA SO SAD – SAD!
Newsweek reports, “While President Donald Trump earned a grilling at home for taking the Kremlin’s word over that of his own security services, Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin fired into his own ranks. Speaking about the awkward, public failure to organize a formal meeting between the two, announced by Russia and rebuffed by the U.S., Putin said his own staff were partly to blame.” This is called saving face after your puppet’s staff has rebuffed you because the puppet’s lunatic racist minions that once cooed Russian propaganda sentiments from within the Whites Only Haus walls are now far from the center of gravity, which for all intents and purposes is the Pentagon.
JOHN MCCAIN: NOTHING PATRIOTIC ABOUT BELIEVING AN EX-KGB OFFICER
Business Insider reports, “Sen. John McCain of Arizona blasted President Donald Trump on Saturday after Trump said he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s denials that Russia interfered in the 2016 US election.” In a statement, McCain said, “There’s nothing ‘America First’ about taking the word of a KGB colonel over that of the American intelligence community”. McCain added, “Vladimir Putin does not have America’s interests at heart,” and, “To believe otherwise is not only naive but also places our national security at risk.”

OUR CHASTE PRESIDENT TURNED DOWN RUSSIAN BITCHAZ OFFER LOL
NBC News informs, “After a business meeting before the Miss Universe Pageant in 2013, a Russian participant offered to ‘send five women’ to Donald Trump’s hotel room in Moscow, his longtime bodyguard told Congress this week”. This according to Keith Schiller, the fake Russian puppet president’s long time enforcer who previously held some over-the-top White House title but served the lunatic prior to that as head of security at Trump Tower. NBC News further informs, “Keith Schiller, viewed the offer as a joke, and immediately responded, ‘We don’t do that type of stuff.’” Who is he kidding? Just to inject reality and truth for half a moment, this is the same fake Russian puppet president who was caught on tape during an “Access Hollywood” appearance saying that he enjoys the fact that as a celebrity he can take women and “grab them by the pussy,” because “they just let you do it.” Our president is so chaste in fact, that the First Lady Melania Trump is stand out as the sole member of the entire Trumpistani elite to sue a publication and receive recompense after The Daily Mail alleged she was a prostitute – a grand achievement in the Trumpworld cadre of billionaire apparatchiks and other assorted alleged Russian intelligence assets.

FUSION GPS ALSO HAD A DOSSIER IT ON THE CLINTON FOUNDATION DONORS
Reuters reports, “The same political research firm,” Fusion GPS, “that prepared a dossier on Trump campaign ties to Russia had unrelated information on Clinton Foundation donors that a Russian lawyer obtained and offered to President Donald Trump’s eldest son last year.” The oppo industry operates much like the oil industry in so far as wildcatting is the norm. In a brilliant twist, “The sources told Reuters that the negative information that Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya wanted to give to Republican Trump’s campaign at a June 2016 meeting in New York had been dug up by Fusion GPS in an unrelated investigation.”
CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA CONTACTED WIKILEAKS OVER HILLARY’S EMAILS
The Wall Street Journal reports, “The chief executive of Cambridge Analytica contacted the founder of WikiLeaks to ask him to share Hillary Clinton-related emails at the same time that people familiar with the matter say the British data-analytics firm had begun working for President Donald Trump’s campaign.” According to The Wall Street Journal, “Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix said Thursday he asked the office that handles his speaking engagements to contact WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in ‘early June 2016,’” after he read about WikiLeaks having a hold of Hillary Clinton’s campaign’s emails. ABC News adds, “Nix’s comments Thursday at the Web Summit technology conference in Lisbon, Portugal, were his first acknowledgement of the outreach.” That is straight up collusion. We are getting closer to the day when Putin admits he hacked our election and only Trump is left to deny it.
ANTI-COSMOPOLITA STEPHEN MILLER INTERVIEWED BY SPECIAL COUNSEL
CNN reports, “White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller has been interviewed as part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe”. This “brings the special counsel investigation into President Donald Trump’s inner circle in the White House,” but we want it eating away at the Worst Family and the fake Russian president like the antibody to the cancer that Russia is. Evidently, “Miller’s role in the firing of FBI Director James Comey was among the topics discussed during the interview as part of the probe into possible obstruction of justice,” CNN notes, filling the heart of the morally injured everywhere across these vast lands with just a glimmer of hope and a few sprinkles of joy.
FAKEBOOK QUERIED ON RUSSIAN ADS TO MANIPULATE US ENERGY MARKET
Bloomberg reports, “Facebook Inc., Twitter Inc. and Google parent Alphabet Inc. agreed to turn over information to Congress on Russian entities purchasing ads that may have been used to manipulate U.S. energy markets, according to the chairman of the House Science Committee.”
ACTIVE MEASURES WATCH: CAPTURE THE STATE DEPARTMENT
The New York Times reports, “The State Department will soon offer a $25,000 buyout to diplomats and staff members who quit or take early retirements by April, officials confirmed on Friday.” To every State Department reader and your colleagues: do not take the buyouts, we need you on the front line to prevent terror down the road. Repeat: do not take the buyout. Mysteriously and disturbingly, The New York Times adds it is part of the inexplicable decision “of Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson’s continuing effort to cut the ranks of diplomats and Civil Service officers despite bipartisan resistance in Congress.” T Rex, why? This is on top of “an unprecedented exodus” occurring according to the American Foreign Service Association union’s president Barbara Stephenson who asked, “Where is the mandate to pull the foreign service team from the field and forfeit the game to our adversaries?” Yes it is true and baffling why “America First” looks and feels so much like dragging America from the back of a truck.

RUSSIAN DEFENSE MINISTER SAYS NATO DEVELOPING NUKES ON BORDER
Russian state-run Sputnik reports that according to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, “NATO was developing ways of using nuclear weapons” on Russia’s Western border.
—–INDICTMENT ROCK CITY—–
POLITICO reports, “Federal investigators have a name for a mysterious Russian woman who offered to help broker meetings between former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos and Kremlin officials: Olga Vinogradova.” It turns out Vinogradova is her maiden name, The New York Times reports, adding her name is now Olga Polonskaya. Maybe? POLITICO notes, “Papadopoulos referred to Vinogradova by name in his campaign-era emails during the spring of 2016.” For color and motives for her presence, POLITICO adds, “in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica last week, he [Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud] referred to Vinogradova as ‘just a student, a very good-looking one.’ Papadopoulos’s interest in her, Mifsud said, was ‘very different from an academic one.’” The New York Times then sets the stage, “At midday on March 24, 2016, an improbable group gathered in a London cafe to discuss setting up a meeting between Donald J. Trump, then a candidate, and President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia.” Among the guests to the party, “There was George Papadopoulos, a 28-year-old from Chicago with an inflated résumé who just days earlier had been publicly named as a foreign policy adviser to Mr. Trump’s campaign. There was Joseph Mifsud, a Maltese academic in his mid-50s with a faltering career who boasted of having high-level contacts in the Russian government.” And then there was, “perhaps most mysteriously, there was Olga Polonskaya, a 30-year-old Russian from St. Petersburg and the former manager of a wine distribution company. Mr. Mifsud introduced her to Mr. Papadopoulos as Mr. Putin’s niece, according to court papers. Mr. Putin has no niece.” Meanwhile, “Papadopoulos was in regular contact that spring with top campaign officials, including Stephen Miller, now a senior adviser to President Trump, according to interviews and campaign documents reviewed by The New York Times.” Furthermore, “Exactly how Mr. Mifsud first met Ms. Polonskaya, the Russian woman who attended the London cafe meeting in March 2016, is unclear.”
WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW SUBMARINE
The New York Times reports Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud “did not exhibit any special interest or expertise in Russia until 2014, when his academy was beginning to stumble financially. It was at that time a 24-year-old Russian intern, Natalia Kutepova-Jamrom, turned up in his office with an improbably impressive résumé.” Straight from some KGB academy of lore, she was “Fluent in Russian, English, German and Chinese,” and “had worked in the Russian government as a legislative aide and would move on to a Russian state newspaper.” And so The New York Times reports, “Ms. Kutepova-Jamrom introduced Mr. Mifsud to senior Russian officials, diplomats and scholars. Despite Mr. Mifsud’s lack of qualifications, she managed to arrange an invitation for him to join the prestigious Valdai Discussion Club, an elite gathering of Western and Russian academics that meets each year with Mr. Putin.”

ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL
The Guardian reports, “Boris Johnson is facing questions about the government’s links to key individuals named by the FBI in its Trump-Russia investigation, following the emergence of a photo of him with Joseph Mifsud, the ‘London professor’ with high-level Kremlin contacts.” Mifsud has since disappeared and will likely reemerge in Moscow some day, as happens. According to The Guardian, “The foreign secretary is facing accusations of a potential security breach following the emergence of the photo of him with Mifsud, whose identity emerged as part of investigations into alleged links between Donald Trump’s election campaign and Russia.” The Guardian notes, “This development comes less than a week after Johnson denied meeting the professor, and at a time when concern is growing about possible Russian interference in the Brexit campaign, in which the foreign secretary played a crucial role.” The Guardian adds that while “the FBI had known about Mifsud’s role as a high-level go-between linking the Trump campaign and the Russian government since at least July, it appears British intelligence did not warn the foreign secretary about the potential embarrassment or security implications before he attended a fundraising dinner with Mifsud on 19 October.” That could potentially become an important detail for a variety of reasons and with many possible implications.
From The Guardian.
Reuters reports, “Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has questioned Sam Clovis, co-chairman of President Donald Trump’s election campaign, to determine if Trump or top aides knew of the extent of the campaign team’s contacts with Russia”. According to Reuters, “Clovis testified in late October before the grand jury in Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He is also cooperating with the Senate Intelligence Committee”.
ON DECK: RUSSIAN LOBBYIST RINAT AKHMETSHIN
CNN reports, “The House intelligence committee plans to interview next week the Russian-American lobbyist,” Rinat Akhmetshin, “who was at the Trump Tower meeting with Donald Trump Jr. last year”. Recall the recently indicted Paul Manafort and a hopefully soon-to-be indicted princeling Jared also attended along with a host of Kremlin-linked characters.

FLUSHING OUT WHAT IT MEANS THAT THE CIA DIRECTOR IS A TRUMP SHILL
Vox reports that on October 19, NBC News’s Vivian Salama asked the CIA’s Trump appointed Director Mike Pompeo, “Can you say, with absolute certainty, that the election results were not skewed as a result of Russian interference?” Pompeo responded, “The intelligence community’s assessment is that the Russian meddling that took place did not affect the outcome of the election.” Of course that is a categorically untrue falsehood. Vox reports, “Pompeo’s misstatement didn’t occur in a vacuum.” Rather, “it mirrored a line of falsehoods that President Donald Trump has been peddling since his surprise win last November.” Do these bastards know how unbelievably dangerous this all is? They would not even care if they did. Then of course, “Late last month, Trump told Pompeo to meet with a conspiracy theorist who believes Russia’s hack and release of Democratic National Committee emails last summer was an inside job — and Pompeo took the meeting.” There is no justification for that, especially since as former CIA Director Michael Hayden points out, “He knew that this would create a [problem] for him with his own workforce because of the appearances the visit would have created,” and Pompeo did it anyway. According to Vox, “Pompeo has also restructured the CIA so a unit that is looking into Trump-Russia collusion reports directly to him. A CIA spokesperson told me Pompeo did this because he wants to improve counterintelligence at the CIA, and that the unit deals with more than just Russia.” As Vox concludes, “ A CIA under unprecedented attack from the White House needs a defender of unusual skill and political courage. That’s not what they’ve gotten.”
MORE TECH DYSTOPIA: SHADOW BROKERS + DEMORALIZING THE NSA
The New York Times reports on the Shadow Brokers, “ a mysterious group that had somehow obtained many of the hacking tools the United States used to spy on other countries”. Indeed, “America’s largest and most secretive intelligence agency had been deeply infiltrated.” The New York Times notes, “Current and former agency officials say the Shadow Brokers disclosures, which began in August 2016, have been catastrophic for the N.S.A., calling into question its ability to protect potent cyberweapons and its very value to national security. The agency regarded as the world’s leader in breaking into adversaries’ computer networks failed to protect its own.” Furthermore, The New York Times reports, “Fifteen months into a wide-ranging investigation by the agency’s counterintelligence arm, known as Q Group, and the F.B.I., officials still do not know whether the N.S.A. is the victim of a brilliantly executed hack, with Russia as the most likely perpetrator, an insider’s leak, or both.” Things being as horrifically infiltrated as they are, TRUMPISTAN WATCH will wager both for no other reason than argument’s sake. More disastrously yet, “there is broad agreement that the damage from the Shadow Brokers already far exceeds the harm to American intelligence done by Edward J. Snowden, the former N.S.A. contractor who fled with four laptops of classified material in 2013,” The New York Times adds. The New York Times reports, “cyberweapons have now been picked up by hackers from North Korea to Russia and shot back at the United States and its allies.” You can imagine none of this has been good for morale as “N.S.A. employees have been subjected to polygraphs and suspended from their jobs in a hunt for turncoats” and “experienced cyberspecialists are leaving the agency for better-paying jobs — including with firms defending computer networks from intrusions that use the N.S.A.’s leaked tools.” The one bright spot in this dystopian tech abyss: “None of the leaked files date from later than 2013”. Now prepare to fall further: “President Barack Obama’s director of national intelligence, James R. Clapper Jr., and defense secretary, Ashton B. Carter, recommended removing Admiral Rogers from his post to create accountability for the breaches,” but, “Obama did not act on the advice, in part because Admiral Rogers’ agency was at the center of the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.” Rogers is still on the job to this day.

MORE TECH DYSTOPIA: ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH RUBLES + NAIVETE
The Atlantic reports on the meaning of the Paradise Papers’ revelation that “Yuri Milner, a Russian businessman with extensive investments in Silicon Valley, used funds from two Kremlin-controlled—and now U.S.-sanctioned—banks to make large investments in Facebook and Twitter.” The Atlantic notes, “Both stakes have been sold off, but Milner’s path to Silicon Valley, where he continues be a power player and lives in a $100 million compound, was paved with the Kremlin’s money and a mutually beneficial relationship.” The Atlantic clarifies Milner’s background a bit, noting in 2009 Milner was back in Moscow and “his investment fund, called Digital Sky Technologies, was buying up shares in seemingly every company in Russia’s burgeoning tech sector. DST raised eyebrows at the time for several reasons.” DST became a huge monopoly and “By 2010, the company was publicly bragging that 70 percent of Russian page views—and 50 percent of the time spent by Russians online—originated on DST-funded properties.” The Atlantic asks, “Where did they get all of that money? Milner and Finger had started DST with their own funds, and the returns on their early investments, though very successful, were just a fraction of those sums, pocket change compared with the money they were throwing around by 2010.” Well now we know, “The funds, it turned out, came largely from Alisher Usmanov, an Uzbek-born billionaire who made his fortune in the mines of Central Asia,” who also happens to be a Kremlin insider. Like any such character, he has either a criminal or intelligence pedigree and in Usmanov’s case, it is criminal. The Atlantic reports, “His biography includes a jail sentence from the 1980s for fraud and embezzlement, though a Soviet court later overturned the conviction, as well as a lawsuit in the United States, later dismissed, in which DeBeers claimed that Usmanov was part of a scheme that cheated it of $800 million in profits.” Well, “American tech executives and venture capitalists—including Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and CEO of Twitter—traveled to Russia in 2010 to meet with Russian tech entrepreneurs and Kremlin officials. Medvedev made a famous trip to Silicon Valley, where, beaming in Twitter’s headquarters, he started his own Twitter account and wrote his first (misspelled) tweet.” It would become a subversive entanglement of mutual benefit, one that first bolstered the liberal dreams of a generation in a matter of just a few years in the Middle East before being used for illiberal post-Soviet imperial gains against the West just after. The Atlantic points the finger at the Kremlin’s current Ukraine envoy Vladislav Surkov as the architect of the new “model of influence that’s currently preoccupying the West.”

MORE TECH DYSTOPIA: RUSSIAN ROBOT TANKS
Defense One reports, “The Russian military will field a new armed tank-like robot that ‘outperformed’ manned platforms in recent exercises at the Alabino proving grounds outside Moscow.” According to Defense One, “Col. Oleg Pomazuev told the Russian news site “Military Review” in late October. Col. Pomazuev runs the “Department of Innovation Research at the Russian military’s Main Directorate of Research Activities, or GUNID.” Defense One notes, “The robot, called the Nerehta, can carry a 12.7mm or 7.62mm machine gun or an AG-30M grenade launcher. The Russian colonel did not say which manned platforms the Nerehta outperformed, but among his service’s vehicles of similar size and armament are the BRDM reconnaissance vehicle and GAZTigr.” Pretty soon we will not even need men to kill each other, we will have robots to do that and die for us.

TO STEVE BANNON, THE CATASTROPHE IS “THE HIGH HOLY DAY OF MAGA”
The Atlantic reports Steve Bannon refers to the November 9 catastrophe of 2016 as “the high holy day of maga.” Bannon spent his “high holy day of MAGA” in Macomb County, Michigan delivering a speech at a local Republican Party dinner. If he were not such a horrible white nationalist, one might actually feel sorry for the massive downgrade he has to experience but no heart ought be wasted on the heartless.

RUSSIAN TROLLS WORKED TO DEFLECT BAD TRUMP NEWS
The AP reports, “Disguised Russian agents on Twitter rushed to deflect scandalous news about Donald Trump just before last year’s presidential election while straining to refocus criticism on the mainstream media and Hillary Clinton’s campaign, according to an Associated Press analysis of since-deleted accounts.” According to the AP, “Tweets by Russia-backed accounts such as ‘America_1st_’ and ‘BatonRougeVoice’ on Oct. 7, 2016, actively pivoted away from news of an audio recording in which Trump made crude comments about groping women, and instead touted damaging emails hacked from Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta.”

FINALLY! TRASHING THE NYT’S “RED CENTURY” SERIES AS A WHITEWASH
The Washington Post trashes an ongoing New York Times series that has seen fit to never mention a single crime of communism. The Washington Post notes, “The irony of the series’ title, ‘Red Century,’ seems lost on the Times’s editors. The 20th century was ‘red’ indeed — red with the blood of communism’s victims.” The Washington Post is correct, “The death toll of communism, cited in ‘The Black Book of Communism,’ is simply staggering: In the USSR, nearly 20 million dead; China, 65 million; Vietnam, 1 million; Cambodia, 2 million; Eastern Europe, 1 million; Africa, 1.7 million; Afghanistan, 1.5 million; North Korea: 2 million (and counting). In all, Communist regimes killed some 100 million people — roughly four times the number killed by the Nazis — making communism the most murderous ideology in human history.” But if you read anything from The New York Times’ craptastic “Red Century” series you ought “Never mind all that.” For example, idiot “University of Pennsylvania professor Kristen R. Ghodsee writes that Communists had better sex”. Oh my god. Or for example, “In ‘Lenin’s Eco-Warriors,’ Yale lecturer Fred Strebeigh writes that Lenin was ‘a longtime enthusiast for hiking and camping’ who turned Russia into ‘a global pioneer in conservation.’” Neglected of course is “that Lenin was also a mass murderer who executed more of his political opponents in the first four months of his rule than the czars had in the entire previous century.” As The Washington Post correctly notes, “The Times’s series is in the tradition set by former Times Moscow bureau chief Walter Duranty, who wrote glowing reports on Stalin’s rule that included repeated denials of the mass starvation from Stalin’s engineered famine in Ukraine.” History will not judge The New York Times well for the egregious editorial oversight, or more plainly bullshit, that is the “Red Century” series. Or as The Washington Post points out, “Now, after a century of slaughter, the Times is back at it”. Indeed, “Czech writer Milan Kundera once described the struggle against communism as ‘the struggle of memory against forgetting.’” Amplify this a bit to the “modern” Russian mafia state and we can say forgetting is winning and winning itself is being redefined by the Trump regime as a lot of lies, bullshit and treason.

NEW PUSSY RIOT SONG TAKES ON EVIL IN OUR TIME
The New York Times reports, “‘Big smile for the camera,’ begins a barbed new song from the dissident Russian band Pussy Riot about state surveillance and police brutality. Released on Wednesday, the video for ‘Police State’ shows three children in pastel-colored masks — a Pussy Riot trademark — who are being forced to watch looped videos of President Trump and President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia shaking hands.”

GULAG RESEARCHER’S FORCED RETURN TO A GULAG
Eurozine carries the work of Sergei Lebedev on Yuri Dmitriev who “was arrested in the far northwest of Russia” in December of 2016. Dmitriev “is a Gulag researcher, the discoverer of Stalinist camp burial grounds in Krasny Bor, Sandarmokh, and Mount Sekirnaya in the Solovki Islands, and the compiler and publisher of the Karelian Books of Memory.” In other words, he likes truth, which makes him a natural ideological enemy of the present Russian mafia state. Lebedev writes, “Quite a bit has been written about the legal side of Dmitriev’s criminal case, with the trumped-up charges of child pornography and more. The charges, God willing, will be dismissed, Dmitriev will be acquitted, and he will be able to return to his real work, which he was forced to abandon due to the criminal persecution.” Lebedev’s piece is an attempt to assess “Dmitriev as a phenomenon, his intuitions, and research methods in uncovering some of the most horrendous crimes against humanity ever perpetrated on this earth.” As Anne Applebaum noted on Twitter, “The past repeats itself. A man who researched the history of the Gulag is now in the same prison he studied.”
RUSSIA HAS A FIVE-YEAR CHEESE PLAN
According to The Moscow Times, “Russia’s Agriculture Minister has said the country will produce enough cheese for the domestic market within the next five years.” Let’s hope that no matter the outcome, a wave of state terror does not ensue as can when Russians have five year plans in their heads. Needless to say file this one under problems the Russians created for themselves to manufacture Russophobia accusations as, “Moscow in 2014 imposed an import ban on food products, including dairy, in retaliation to Western sanctions over its role in Ukraine. The measure was seen as a boon to domestic production, but food lovers have lamented the proliferation of ‘fake cheese’ — dairy products made with milk-substitutes.” Russians cutting kopeks to stuff a little more in their pockets? TRUMPISTAN WATCH does believe that is a national pastime in their country, is it not?

A BRIDGE TO CRIMEA WILL CONNECT RUSSIA WITH CIVILIZATION
The New York Times reports from Kerch, Crimea where, “The looming bridge is the best show in town.” The bridge is “the colossal engineering feat inching its way across the strait separating Crimea from the Russian mainland.” The New York Times notes it is “Expected to open to traffic in December 2018”. However, “the $7 billion bridge project is likely to come more freighted with symbolism than with actual vehicles. It is the latest in a series of megaprojects of the type much beloved by President Vladimir V. Putin,” with this one being Arkady Rotenberg, “conveniently already under Western sanctions over Crimea because of his status as a member of Mr. Putin’s inner circle.” Great patriot that he is, Rotenberg ever so humbling told Komersant in 2015, “If you permit me to say this, it is my contribution to the country’s development.” And surely it is country’s contribution to his personal wealth’s development in exchange. So selfless and patriotic! Humbling in fact.
