TRUMP CAMPAIGN GETS FRESH SUBPOENAS FROM SPECIAL COUNSEL

The Wall Street Journal reports, “Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team in mid-October issued a subpoena to President Donald Trump’s campaign requesting Russia-related documents from more than a dozen top officials”. Everything requested was about “Russia-related keywords,” according to The Wall Street Journal.

BUT HIS EMAILS! PRINCELING JARED’S 2016 WIKILEAKS + RUSSIA CACHE

POLITICO reports, “Jared Kushner received emails in September 2016 about WikiLeaks and about a ‘Russian backdoor overture and dinner invite’ and forwarded them to another campaign official, according to a letter to his attorney from the bipartisan leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee.” Oops princeling Jared “failed to turn over the relevant documents when they asked for them last month.” Oh it is always so delightful when those who dangle nooses find them around their own neck. The Germans even gave us a word for it, schadenfreude. POLITICO reports, “In a section of the letter titled ‘Missing documents,’ Grassley and Feinstein said Kushner had handed over some materials but omitted communications that mentioned some of the people connected to the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.” Why would he do that?

From POLITICO.

PRINCELING JARED IS A PRINCELING WITHOUT A SECURITY CLEARANCE

POLITICO reports, “Jared Kushner is still working with an interim security clearance 10 months into President Donald Trump’s administration, according to White House officials and others”. One can assume this leak is also a sign that he does not play nice with others.

MOVING CLOSER TO THE DAY PUTIN ADMITS + ONLY TRUMP IS IN DENIAL

CNBC reports, “Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak said on Wednesday that it would take him more than 20 minutes to name all of the Trump officials he’s met with or spoken to on the phone.” Kislyak is quoted, “First, I’m never going to do that,” adding, “And second, the list is so long that I’m not going to be able to go through it in 20 minutes.” CNBC notes, “Kislyak made the remarks in a sprawling interview with Russia-1, a popular state-owned Russian television channel.”

AT LEAST ONE OF T REX’S HANDS IS ON PAGE WITH REALITY

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “A senior U.S. State Department official says Russia’s actions over the past decade have shown that Moscow’s willingness to violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other nations is ‘real’ and not ‘simply rhetorical.’” Great, finally someone at the top of the State Department who gets this and says it! Albeit, now we do not have much of a State Department as active measures under the guise of neoliberal corporate restructuring have ravaged it. But let us embrace the real! Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty adds, “On November 16, Brian Hook, the State Department’s director of policy planning, told the Center for Strategic & International Studies’ Transatlantic Forum On Russia that Moscow’s actions in the war with Georgia in 2008 and more recently in Ukraine are ‘violations of the UN Charter and of multiple articles of the Helsinki Final Act.’” Bravo, bravo. Albeit it is a decade late and way, way more than a dollar short with a puppet in the White House and a nation ostensibly under hybrid occupation, meaning a little of their crazy and a lot of our crazy.

RUSSIAN MAFIA STATE SCUM ARE LIKE TRUMP, THEY WILL STIFF YOU

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “U.S. prosecutors have asked a judge to enforce a $6 million settlement agreement with a Russia-linked company known as Prevezon, the latest chapter in a legal fight that has rippled through U.S.-Russian relations.” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty notes, “In a motion filed on November 15, federal prosecutors said Prevezon had failed to meet a deadline to make payment and was instead seeking to rewrite the terms of the settlement. The prosecutors asked Judge William Pauley to force the company to pay up.”

FORMER FBI DIRECTOR LOUIS FREEH WORKED FOR PREVEZON

Business Insider reports, “The Russian-owned real-estate firm Prevezon earlier this year hired former FBI Director Louis Freeh to help the company negotiate a settlement agreement with the US government over an alleged money-laundering operation that involved an elaborate Russian tax-fraud scheme that implicated high-level Kremlin officials.” According to Business Insider, “That detail was in a memorandum released on Thursday by Joon Kim, the acting US attorney for the Southern District of New York, seeking to enforce the settlement agreement Prevezon struck with the government in May for roughly $5.9 million.” Just remember, money does not care who owns it.

WARNINGS SENT TO U.S.-FUNDED MEDIA OUTLETS IN RUSSIA

ABC News reports, “Russia’s Justice Ministry said Thursday it has warned several U.S. government-funded news outlets that they could be designated as foreign agents under a new bill which has yet to be fully approved.” ABC News notes, “The ministry said Thursday it has notified the U.S. government-funded Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, along with its regional outlets, that they could be designated as foreign agents under the new legislation.”

AN EYE FOR AN EYE, A VIOLATION TO THE INF TREAT FOR A VIOLATION…

The Washington Post reports, “The Trump administration is trying to fix a badly broken nuclear-arms-control treaty with Russia, which has been violating the agreement for years. And part of the U.S. plan to counter Russia’s building of treaty-violating missiles is to develop some treaty-violating missiles of its own.” The Washington Post notes, “The U.S. government has known since 2012 that Russia was in violation of the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. Signed by President Ronald Reagan, the bilateral U.S.-Russian pact bars construction, testing or deployment of missiles or delivery systems with a range of between 500 and 5,500 kilometers. For years, Republicans in Congress pressed the Obama administration to confront the Russians.” Obama never understood a basic fact of Russia: Russia only respects strength. Anything less is perceived as weakness to be preyed up, and sucking the blood out of the republic to this very day is how we ended up. With no irony whatsoever, The Washington Post reports that presumably sane elements in “the Trump team” are “trying again to confront Moscow, but this time with what they see as new leverage.” The Washington Post adds, “The administration is supporting congressional efforts to fund research and development for a U.S. cruise missile with the same capability, to show the Russians they aren’t they only ones who can play that game.” The Washington Post reports, “the Trump administration has called for another meeting of what’s called the Special Verification Commission, a forum where U.S. and Russian officials can try to sort out the conflict”. Indeed evidence sanity prevails here as “Fiona Hill, the National Security Council’s senior director for Russia, and Christopher Ford, the NSC’s senior director for nonproliferation, briefed Congress on the plan last month,” The Washington Post reports.

RUSSIA’S NEW NUCLEAR WARPLANE TO HAVE FIRST FLIGHT IN FEBRUARY

Newsweek reports, “Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin reported Thursday to President Vladimir Putin himself, telling the Russian leader that the latest reboot of the Tupolev TU-160 heavy strategic bomber, called ‘Black Swan’ by Russia and ‘Blackjack’ by Western military alliance NATO, would make its first flight in February 2018. The latest inception of the massive nuclear-capable warplane was designated TU-160M2 and its reintroduction would represent another major step for Russia’s increasingly advanced military power.” Newsweek notes, “The first ever TU-160M2 could be seen on state media Thursday being rolled out of its assembly hangar at the Kazan Aviation Factory, which celebrated its 90th anniversary that same day.”

LITHUANIA PASSES MAGNITSKY ACT

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “Lithuania’s parliament has passed new human rights legislation modeled on the U.S. Magnitsky Act, the 2012 law that infuriated Moscow and prompted a ban on Americans adopting Russian children.” Great! Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty notes, “The measure, which passed the Seim overwhelmingly, makes Lithuania the fifth country to adopt such legislation targeting Russians deemed to have committed either financial crimes or human rights violations. The bill contains a list of 44 Russians, including Investigative Committee Chairman Aleksandr Bastrykin, who will face a travel ban and other measures. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “The legislation is expected to be signed into law by President Dalia Grybauskaite in the coming days.”

GATES FOUGHT THE LAW + THE LAW WON

POLITICO reports, “Former Donald Trump campaign staffer Rick Gates, who’s facing charges in Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, lost his bid Thursday to get out of strict home confinement rules so he can travel for Thanksgiving and Christmas and drive his four children to school and extracurricular activities, as well as continue his lobbying work.” It must be such an inconvenience living under house arrest. But hey this asshole is part of the reason we are all living under occupation, which is just a macro form of house arrest, so it is more like a goddamn pity he is not in jail as he would be if he were poors instead of a wealthy lobbyist.

From POLITICO.

OOPS I DID IT AGAIN

POLITICO reports, “George Papadopoulos claimed last year that Donald Trump telephoned him to discuss his new position as a foreign policy adviser to his presidential campaign and that the two had at least one personal introductory meeting that the White House has not acknowledged.” Oops! According to POLITICO, “Papadopoulos also claimed that he’d been given a ‘blank check’ to choose a senior Trump administration job and authorized to represent the candidate in overseas meetings with foreign leaders, and at a campaign event in New York.” That check presumably to book amateur hour? POLITICO adds, “Among Papadapoulos’s claims to a Kathimerini reporter and editor was that Trump called him personally in March 2016 after he had been tapped for Trump’s foreign policy advisory team. Papadopoulos said Trump him he had been recommended for the job by Trump’s former Republican primary rival, Ben Carson.”

SENATOR FEINSTEIN REQUESTS DOCS ON PRINCELING JARED

The Hill reports, “Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) is requesting documents on the potential involvement of President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner in the firings of former FBI Director James Comey and former national security adviser Michael Flynn.” According to The Hill, Feinstein “sent a letter on Wednesday to White House counsel Donald McGahn, saying she wants him to turn over details on Kushner by Nov. 27.”

CONGRESS WANTS FLYNN JR.’S SECURITY CLEARANCE RECORDS

The Los Angeles Times reports, “Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) wants the FBI to turn over information to Congress on any security clearance application filed by Michael Flynn Jr., the son of President Trump’s former national security advisor.” Recall, “Flynn Jr. served as the chief of staff at his father’s private consulting company, the Flynn Intel Group, and also worked with the president’s transition team.”

From The Los Angeles Times.

FELIX SATER WILL COOPERATE WITH SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE

McClatchy reports, “Russian émigré and one-time Trump associate Felix Sater will cooperate with a request by the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee to turn over documents and meet with the committee as part of its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.” McClatchy notes, “In 2005, Sater was a director of the Bayrock Groupwhich developed the Trump Soho project in New York. That same year the Trump Organization gave Bayrock a one-year deal to try to secure a property in Russia that would have Trump’s name attached. Those efforts failed, and Sater was forced out of his public leadership role in the Soho project after a New York Times story revealed that he’d gone to jail because of a 1993 bar fight.” He also worked as an FBI informant.

WHERE IS MY PAGE? DELIVERING “IRRELEVENT” DOCS TO THE HILL

The Hill reports, “Former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page on Thursday dropped off a bundle of documents under subpoena to both the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, in a brief appearance on Capitol Hill that drew a swarm of public attention.” There is color too as The Hill informs, “Page, wearing a red bucket hat, entered the Hart Senate Office Building alone”. TRUMPISTAN WATCH is imagining something Devo-like. The Hill reports, “Page told reporters that the Senate Intelligence committee had requested more ‘irrelevant’ documents, which he described as ‘all’ of his business and personal records.”

From The Hill.

41%

The Hill reports, “President Trump’s job approval rating hit a new low in November and has declined for three months straight, according to the latest Harvard/Harris survey.” The Hill reports, “The poll found that 41 percent approve of the job Trump is doing, compared to 59 percent who disapprove. That’s down from a 45 percent approval in September and the previous low of 42 percent, which Trump hit in October. Trump peaked in the Harvard/Harris survey at 49 percent approval in March.” While this might still seem high, keep in mind how many Americans live sleepwalking lives of privileged comfort and just do not pay attention to shit in the world. And yet, the world owes them happiness.

THE COMPANY THEY KEEP

NBC News reports, “When Ivanka Trump flew here in 2006 to push her family’s latest business project — an oceanfront steel and glass tower called the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel and Tower, shaped like a sail and designed to be one of the tallest buildings in Latin America — a Brazilian real estate salesman named Alexandre Ventura Nogueira says he was ready with a sales pitch.” NBC News adds, “Ventura did sell the initial units, and later hundreds more. He is now a fugitive. In May 2009, Ventura was arrested in Panama for real estate fraud, unrelated to the Trump project. Mauricio Ceballos, a former financial crimes prosecutor in Panama who investigated Ventura, said that dozens of complaints against Ventura crossed his desk accusing him of double- and triple-selling apartments, both at the Trump Ocean Club and other developments. Ventura eventually fled Panama while out on bail.” Naturally, “Ventura isn’t the only person associated with the building who has had run-ins with the law,” NBC News notes, adding, “the project was riddled with brokers, customers and investors who have been linked to drug trafficking and international crime. Ceballos, who investigated the project, went as far as to call the skyscraper ‘a vehicle for money laundering.’” Shock! Of note, NBC News adds, “Ventura says about half of the units he sold at the Trump Ocean Club were to Russians. To help handle them, Ventura went into business with several Russian-speaking real estate brokers, who he admits have had checkered pasts, including one named Stanislav Kavalenka.” Citing court documents, NBC News reports, “Kavalenka was charged in Canada with a number of offenses, including ‘compelling’ and ‘procuring’ women to engage in prostitution. The case was withdrawn when the two women failed to appear in court to give evidence against him.” Furthermore, “Another investor in Ventura’s firm was Arkady Vodovozov. According to court files cited by Reuters, he was convicted of kidnapping in Israel.” Another, “Igor Anapolskiy,” was “convicted in September 2014 by a court in Ukraine of forging travel documents”. Prostitution, kidnapping, forgery – what does this sound like to you? TRUMPISTAN WATCHians, you should smell Russian mafia state scum from a mile away by now.

RUSSIAN DIRTY MONEY PAYING TO KEEP TRUMP LEGALLY AFLOAT
Just Security
asks a very timely and important question, namely, “is Russian money helping to pay for the legal defense of the President and his family against allegations they colluded with Russia?” The answer is of course yes. Just Security notes, “ It was first reported in September that three Americans with substantial Russian business ties contributed almost $2 million to the RNC. Unless these donations were directed by a foreigner, they are not illegal. But we know, for starters, that all three men are connected to Viktor Vekselberg one of the richest men in Russia and a close associate of President Putin.” Just Security wishes us not to forget, “that in Putin’s Russia, business, politics, and the security establishment are inextricably linked.” Just Security adds, “for the first time in recent history, we are seeing a major portion of six and seven-figure contributions to a political party being funneled toward the personal legal expenses of the President and his family.” How very other, third worldly of them.

PENTAGON “ACCIDENTALLY” TWEETS CALL FOR TRUMP TO RESIGN

The AP reports, “The Pentagon says an authorized operator of its Twitter page accidentally retweeted a tweet urging President Donald Trump to resign.” According to the AP, “The tweet was posted by a person whose Twitter handle is @ProudResister. It said, ‘The solution is simple. Roy Moore: Step down from the race. Al Franken: Resign from congress. Donald Trump: Resign from the presidency. GOP: Stop making sexual assault a partisan issue. It’s a crime as is your hypocrisy.’”

DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE PUTS DARKNESS AT NUNES ON PUTIN’S LEASH

The Washington Examiner reports, “Andrew Janz, a Democratic candidate vying for California Republican Rep. Devin Nunes’ seat, debuted a billboard on display in the San Joaquin district that showcases President Trump and Nunes on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s leash.” Nice! Janz posted a pic of the masterpiece to Twitter. Now you know TRUMPISTAN WATCH so totally and utterly approves.

RUSSIA’S TV RAIN JOINS POLICE RAID – BEFORE IT OCCURS

Meduza reports, “Before the authorities ever arrived, the Russian television network REN TV reported on Thursday about a police raid on the Moscow office of the independent newspaper Novaya Gazeta, the paper’s spokesperson, Nadezhda Prusenkova, told the website Mediazona.” Now recall TV Rain was also publishing information about the Russian troll factories recently, as clear an indication as it gets that, as TRUMPISTAN WATCH stated at the time, it was a story Russia wanted us to talk about. Why? For the same reason this preemptive video raid occurred before the police one: to confuse our understanding of reality and who is aligned with whom.

RUSSIA CLOSER TO FACING OLYMPIC BAN FOR DOPING, AGAIN

CNN reports, “Russia is a step closer to facing a possible ban of its athletes from the Winter Olympics in South Korea after the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) upheld its decision that the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) remains non-compliant.” Several Russian officials sounded off but nothing yet from the Kremlin. In Russia, of course, sports are used to legitimize the regime since Soviet times and a ban is devastating for nationalism, which means it is great for geopolitical security as it gives Russia one less arena in which to showcase how it can flaunt the rules of the international system.
