TRUMP BEGINS DAY BY ATTACKING INSTRUMENTS OF JUSTICE

CNN reports, “President Donald Trump positioned himself squarely against the leadership of the FBI and Department of Justice on Friday ahead of the possible release of a highly controversial Republican memo alleging the FBI abused its surveillance tools, claiming the government agencies ‘politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans.’” Nothing is sacred to our fake bullshit Russian puppet president and certainly not the laws he constantly seeks to place himself above.

TRUMP WANTS DARKNESS AT NUNES MEMO RELEASED TODAY

CBS News reports, “The White House expects to inform Congress probably Friday that the president is ‘okay’ with publishing the GOP House Intelligence Committee’s memo. The president reviewed the four-page memo this week, after Republicans on the committee sent it to the White House.” Of course this is “a move strongly opposed by ranking Democrat Adam Schiff, as well as by FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.” CBS News notes how in an SOS to the nation and the world, “Former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired by President Trump in May, tweeted his appreciation that the FBI made its opposition known.” “All should appreciate the FBI speaking up. I wish more of our leaders would. But take heart: American history shows that, in the long run, weasels and liars never hold the field, so long as good people stand up. Not a lot of schools or streets named for Joe McCarthy,” Comey tweeted. “So long as good people stand up” – where and when have we heard that before? Heavy SOS!

TRUMP BELIEVES DARKNESS AT NUNES MEMO DISCREDITS INVESTIGATION

CNN reports, “President Donald Trump continues to tell his associates he believes the highly controversial Republican memo alleging the FBI abused its surveillance tools could help discredit the Russia investigation”. CNN adds two sources told them, “In recent phone calls, Trump has told friends he believes the memo would expose bias within the agency’s top ranks and make it easier for him to argue the Russia investigations are prejudiced against him”. CNN notes, “Trump appears to be more preoccupied with the political calculus. He views the memo as proof the intelligence community was unfairly targeting him and fodder for his ultimate goal of bringing an end to the Russia investigation that he has dubbed a ‘witch hunt’”. The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin states it perfectly clearly: “We cannot stress enough just how bizarre and outrageous is the Nunes scheme. FBI Director Christopher Wray, appointed by Trump, and Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein, also appointed by Trump, have warned the president that disclosure of the memo would do great damage to American national security. The FBI publicly has, in essence, said the Nunes memo is misleading. And despite all that, the president plans to allow the release of the memo, which has one purpose only: to discredit and hobble the FBI and the Justice Department that are investigating the president. Bluntly put, Trump and Nunes surely seem to be acting with corrupt intent to taint the investigators in order to help Trump escape the legal and political consequences of possible wrongdoing.” No possible, no more benefit of the doubt, not when it is happening before our very eyes.

SO WHAT THE HELL IS IN THE DARKNESS AT NUNES DISINFO MEMO?

BuzzFeed reports, “The House Intelligence Committee’s Republican-written memo is expected to be made public on Friday. It’s expected to accuse the FBI of acting improperly in targeting Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page.” BuzzFeed adds, “By the time the FBI received court approval to monitor Carter Page, it knew that Page had traveled recently to Moscow, had interacted with a Russian spy in New York City in 2013, and had lived in Moscow from 2004 to 2007.

From BuzzFeed.

FBI DIRECTOR CHRISTOPHER WRAY COULD QUIT OVER MEMO

CNN reports, “Top White House aides are worried FBI Director Christopher Wray could quit if the highly controversial Republican memo alleging the FBI abused its surveillance tools is released”. CNN notes, “Wray’s stance is ‘raising hell’”. However, “Wray has not directly threatened to resign after clashing with Trump over the possible release of the memo, the source added, because that is not his style of dealing with conflict.” CNN adds, “Agents inside the bureau are happy that Wray is standing up to the President, according to several law enforcement sources. The bureau released a rare statement on Wednesday that said the bureau had ‘grave concerns’ with the memo.” CNN continues, “There is a recognition, however, that Wray leaving could set off a chain reaction of events inside the law enforcement agency. Top officials inside the bureau have been trying to identify who might be considered a ‘Trump guy’ in the order of succession in the bureau’s organizational chart, another law enforcement official said.”

EX-CIA DIRECTOR BRENNAN CALLS OUT THE GOP DEATH CULT

CNN reports, “Former CIA Director John Brennan is calling out Republicans for ‘reckless partisan behavior’ over their handling of a secret memo about the FBI’s surveillance practices.” Brennan tweeted, “I had many fights with Congressional Dems over the years on national security matters. But I never witnessed the type of reckless partisan behavior I am now seeing from (Devin) Nunes and House Republicans,” adding “the absence of moral and ethical leadership in the WH is fueling this government crisis.”

ECONOMIST INTELLIGENCE UNIT: AMERICAN DEMOCRACY IN GRAVE DANGER

The Washington Post reports, “Democracy is in under siege around the world, according to a new report by the Economist Intelligence Unit. The annual Democracy Index tracks the health of the world’s governments. And the results for 2017 are depressing. In 89 countries, democratic norms look worse than they did last year, the report’s authors write. Just 4.5 percent of the world’s residents live in fully functioning democracies, down from 8.9 percent in 2015.” The Washington Post adds, “That precipitous drop is thanks, primarily, to the United States. In 2016, the Economist demoted the country from a ‘full’ to ‘flawed’ democracy, citing a ‘serious decline’ in public trust in U.S. institutions. In 2017, the United States didn’t fare any better, retaining its same rank and score. As the report’s authors explain, President Trump was able to tap into the disempowerment felt by voters, who are frustrated with U.S. political and economic stagnation.” The Washington Post notes, “Across the world, democratic norms are being eroded. Symptoms include curbs on freedom of speech, declining trust in institutions, a drop in popularity of mainstream political parties and erosion of civil liberties. A third of the world’s population lives under authoritarian regimes. The world’s most democratic countries include Norway, Iceland, Sweden, New Zealand, Denmark, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Finland and Switzerland. Other major European countries — such as Britain and Germany — round out the list of ‘full’ democracies. Only one country from the developing world, Uruguay, is represented.” TRUMPISTAN WATCH would prefer to live in any of those nations over Trumpistan at present time. The reasons are obvious.

TRUMP JR. TWEETS DADDY FIRED DEPUTY FBI DIRECTOR ANDREW MCCABE

The Hill reports, “Donald Trump Jr. claimed Thursday in two tweets that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was ‘fired’ due to the contents of a yet-to-be-released [DARKNESS AT NUNES] memo from Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee that alleges abuses of government surveillance powers.” Uday does not have a security clearance, he does not have a job in government, what the hell is he tweeting this for? The Hill adds, “While McCabe was under pressure to leave the FBI, Trump Jr. in his tweets claims that the information in the memo was ‘good enough’ for the administration to ‘fire McCabe.’” The Hill recalls by contrast, “The White House at a press briefing on Monday specifically denied involvement in McCabe’s decision to resign.”

POMPEO DEFENDS HIMSELF AFTER MEETING WITH RUSSIAN INTEL CHIEFS

Bloomberg reports, “CIA Director Mike Pompeo shot back at Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer after the lawmaker accused President Donald Trump of letting Russia’s sanctioned spy chief ‘waltz through the U.S. front door.’” Bloomberg adds, “Sergei Naryshkin, head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, visited the U.S. last week for discussions on the fight against terrorism, according to a tweet Tuesday by the Russian Embassy in Washington. Schumer told reporters the same day that the White House must disclose who the spy chief, listed on a Treasury Department sanctions list, met with.” Incredibly Bloomberg notes, “In a letter to Schumer Thursday, Pompeo said he was writing in response to the New York lawmaker’s suggestion that ‘there was something untoward’ in Russian intelligence officials meeting with their U.S. counterparts. ‘Let me assure you there is not,’ he said.”  Bloomberg reports, “Schumer had called for the White House to release details of Naryshkin’s trip and whether the decision this week not to impose additional Russia sanctions was related to his visit. Naryshkin was put on a Treasury Department list of sanctioned officials in 2014.” You will not be surprised TRUMPISTAN WATCHians by who else agrees with Pompeo’s rather naïve assessment of this meeting. Reuters adds, “A U.S. intelligence official, speaking on condition of anonymity, accused Moscow of disclosing the visit partly to fuel political discord in Washington over investigations of a Russian interference campaign that is rankling President Donald Trump and some of his fellow Republicans.” No kidding. So not our friends! Yet Reuters reports, “Naryshkin met with DNI Coats at Coats’s suburban Washington headquarters, according to two sources. A third source said that the SVR chief met Pompeo at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Naryshkin was accompanied by Alexander Bortnikov, the director of the Federal Security Service, or FSB, Russia’s main domestic intelligence agency”. Horror. What the hell is going on?!

From Bloomberg and Reuters.

“FAIRLY ROUTINE” VISIT FROM RUSSIAN INTEL CHIEFS TO WASHINGTON?
Russian state-run Sputnik calls the Russian intelligence chiefs visit to Washington last week “fairly routine”
. What the hell are they talking about? Not in free and sovereign America but perhaps now in occupied Trumpistan, a Russian mafia state colony – or so Moscow believes. And how could they not? The article includes a shot over the bow at CIA Director Mike Pompeo: “The CIA head also claimed that Russia is an adversary rather than an ally, despite the ongoing cooperation between Moscow and Washington in the fight against terrorism.”

From Russian state-run Sputnik.

INSTEAD OF SANCTIONS, U.S. SUSPENDED THEM AGAINST INTEL CHIEFS

Russian state-run TASS reports, “Washington has suspended its entry ban for Russian security chiefs, so that they could travel to the United States for consultations with their US colleagues, US Department of State Spokesperson Heather Nauert said.” What in holy hell? Instead of sanctioning Russians, the U.S. suspends sanctions against their intelligence chiefs so they can visit their new mafia state colony, Trumpistan!? “I can tell you in a general – in a general matter, if something is considered to be in the national security interest of the United States, just like other countries, we have the ability to waive that so that people can come in to the United States,” Nauert said. Russian state-run TASS adds, “The spokesperson gave no details about the visit, saying that information regarding visa decisions is protected under the US law.” Unbelievable. And this is done to protect the American people how exactly?

STATE DEPARTMENT’S #3 OFFICIAL STEPS DOWN

The AP reports, “The top career U.S. diplomat announced Thursday he will step down, dealing a blow to the State Department as the Trump administration confronts numerous international challenges. The State Department’s third-ranking official, Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Tom Shannon, informed agency staffers that he will retire as soon as a successor for his Senate-confirmed post is chosen and ready to assume the job. Shannon is a near 35-year veteran of the U.S. Foreign Service and was the most senior department official to remain in his job after the transition from the Obama to the Trump administrations. He served under six presidents of both political parties since 1984 and was widely seen as a symbol of diplomatic continuity and professionalism during the tumultuous transition last year.” That is an obituary for our national sovereignty at the foreign policy level right there. The AP adds, “In an interview, Shannon, who holds the rank of ‘career ambassador’ — the highest in the foreign service — said he was retiring for personal and not political reasons.” The AP notes, “Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who has been criticized for his leadership of the State Department and removing or forcing out senior career officials, said he had asked Shannon to stay on and acknowledged that Shannon’s departure would be a loss. ‘Thirty-five years of experience is not something you replace overnight,’ he said. Tillerson dropped by during the interview and said Shannon could return if he did not enjoy retirement.” The AP reports, “Of five ‘career ambassadors’ on the job when Tillerson arrived at the State Department, only one remains and that diplomat is currently on sabbatical.” Recall, the goal of active measures is to capture the state: foreign policy, defense and the economy.

From the AP.

CAPTURE THE STATE DEPARTMENT: 7 OF 9 TOP JOBS EMPTY

Bloomberg reports, “With Shannon’s departure, seven of the top nine jobs at the department will be empty. Those vacant posts include positions overseeing the agency’s role in U.S. trade policy, stopping the spread of nuclear weapons, refugee issues and efforts to counter human trafficking.” Bloomberg adds, “there’s little doubt the pool of qualified nominees for top jobs is thin after the administration ruled out jobs for Republican foreign policy experts who opposed Trump during the election.”

SO WHO CAN TAKE T REX SERIOUSLY WHEN HE WARNS OF CHINA, RUSSIA?

PBS NewsHour reports, “Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Thursday warned countries in the Western Hemisphere to beware of Chinese investment, saying it is reminiscent of European colonialism. He also derided Russia for selling weaponry to unfriendly, authoritarian governments in the region.” PBS NewsHour adds Tillerson said Russia’s “growing presence in the region is alarming.” Yeah, especially in North America in the nation of Trumpistan!

REALITY WINNER HAS TO STAY IN THE SLAMMER AS PAUL MANAFORT…

The Washington Times reports, “The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed Wednesday a district court’s order keeping accused National Security Agency leaker Reality Winner behind bars pending trial. A federal appellate panel ruled 3-0 to uphold a lower court’s ruling detaining Ms. Winner, 26, effectively seeing she remains jailed until her leak case is heard likely later this year.” The Washington Times recalls, “Ms. Winner was arrested in June 2017 in Augusta, Georgia, and subsequently charged in connection with sharing classified material obtained while employed at Pluribus, an Atlanta-based contracting firm, and ordered held until trial.” The Washington Times notes, “Proceedings in her case are currently slated to begin in March 2018, and Ms. Winner faces a maximum 10-year prison sentence if found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act.” Compare and contrast to the fact that Paul Manafort is under house arrest and able to go to various luxury residences in Virginia, Florida and the Hamptons.

RUSSIA ISSUES TRAVEL WARNING SAYS U.S. HUNTING ITS CITIZENS
Reuters
reports, “Russia has issued a travel warning recommending its citizens think twice before traveling abroad, saying the United States was hunting for Russians to arrest around the world. The Foreign Ministry statement warns Russian citizens that when abroad they face a serious threat of arrest by other countries at Washington’s request, after which they could be extradited to the United States.” Reuters notes the warning “said more than 10 Russians had been detained in foreign countries with U.S. involvement since the start of 2017. By way of example, it pointed to at least four Russians arrested on U.S. cyber crime charges in Spain, Latvia and Greece. U.S. action against suspected Russian cyber criminals surged to a record high last year.” Wonder why that is.

RUSSIA STEPS UP BELLICOSE RHETORIC OVER BLACK SEA BUZZING

USA Today reports, “Only days after the U.S. accused a Russian plane of dangerously buzzing a U.S. military plane in the Black Sea, the Russian defense ministry said Thursday that if U.S. pilots are depressed over Russian planes protecting its borders, they should fly other routes.” USA Today recalls, “The incident Monday, as reported by U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, involved a Russian Su-27 flying within five feet of an EP-3 Aries before crossing through the U.S. aircraft’s flight path and forcing it to fly through the Su-27’s flight wash”. Russia does not own the Black Sea.

RUSSIA SHORING UP ITS PRESENCE IN THE CARIBBEAN

The Wall Street Journal reports, “Russia is solidifying its footing close to U.S. shores, in the Caribbean, a region Moscow abandoned after the Cold War and has gradually returned to with investment, diplomacy and military hardware.” The report cites a developing relationship with Grenada, which President Ronald Reagan invaded in 1983. The Wall Street Journal reports Russia “has developed a multidimensional relationship with the tiny nation of Grenada.”

NAVALNY’S SPOKESWOMAN SENTENCED TO FIVE DAYS IN JAIL

The AP reports, “A spokeswoman for Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been sentenced to five days in jail for calling for an unsanctioned protest. Tens of thousands took to the streets across Russia on Sunday to protest a decision to bar Navalny from running in the upcoming presidential election. Navalny’s spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh and another Navalny associate were hosting a webcast of the protests from an undisclosed location abroad. Yarmysh and the other host, Shaveddinov, were arrested Tuesday at a Moscow airport.” The AP adds, “A Moscow court ruled late Wednesday that both were guilty of calling for unsanctioned protests when they re-tweeted Navalny’s video. The judge said the tweets aimed to ‘create a negative image of one of the presidential candidates,’” an absurd euphemism for insulting the little guy in the Kremlin. The AP notes, “Yarmysh was sentenced to five days in custody, Shaveddinov to eight.”

RUSSIA CLAIMS IT STOPPED AN ATTACK ON FAKE ELECTIONS DAY

The AP reports, “Russia’s main intelligence agency says it has killed a suspected member of the Islamic State group who it says was plotting an attack on the country’s presidential election day next month. The FSB said in a statement Thursday that the man resisted and was killed by security forces in the Volga River city of Nizhny Nogvorod. An explosive device, firearms and ammunition were found at the home of the unidentified man who, according to the FSB, hailed from one of the former Soviet republics.”

WHAT’S GOING ON

POLITICO reports, “Three attorneys representing Rick Gates told a federal court Thursday they are immediately withdrawing as counsel for the former Donald Trump campaign aide, who is fighting special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment of him on money laundering and other charges. Lawyers Shanlon Wu, Walter Mack and Annemarie McAvoy said in a two-page motion that they would explain the reasons for their abrupt move in documents filed under seal with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.” POLITICO adds McAvoy said, “The document speaks for itself”. This could be a plea deal and that could be big trouble for Paul Manafort.

MAJORITIES WANT TRUMP UNDER OATH + MUELLER PROTECTED

The Hill reports, “A vast majority of Americans say President Trump should be interviewed under oath by special counsel Robert Mueller. More than 70 percent say Trump should agree to an interview, and if he does, 82 percent say it should be under oath, according to a new Monmouth University poll.” The Hill notes that, “According to the poll, of those who said that Trump should agree to an interview, 85 percent were Democrats, 74 percent were independents and 51 percent were Republicans.” CNN reports, “More than six in 10 Americans, 62%, support legislation to protect special counsel Robert Mueller by requiring a panel of federal judges to sign off before any special counsel could be fired.” According to the same Monmouth University poll, “Three in 10 Americans, 29%, Americans say they oppose that legislation.”

TRUMP LIES ABOUT RATINGS FOR HIS STATE OF THE UNION

BBC News reports, “President Donald Trump’s boast that TV viewership for his speech to Congress this week was the ‘highest number in history’ is belied by ratings data. Nielsen, which tracks US TV viewership, says Mr Trump’s 45.6m viewers falls short of the numbers who tuned in to other State of the Union addresses.” Because our fake Russian bullshit president is a total liar who lies about the size of everything, BBC News notes, “Nielsen says Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W Bush all drew bigger ratings for their speeches.”

REAL NAZI SHIT: CUTTING OFF THE VULNERABLE FROM JUSTICE WITH FEAR

The AP reports, “Federal immigration authorities formalized a policy Wednesday to send deportation agents to federal, state and local courthouses to make arrests, dismissing complaints from judges and advocacy groups that it instills fear among crime victims, witnesses and family members. The two-page directive from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said it will enter courthouses only for specific targets, such as convicted criminals, gang members, public safety threats and immigrants who have been previously deported or ordered to leave. Family, friends and witnesses won’t be picked up for deportation but ICE leaves a caveat for ‘special circumstances.’” Beyond horrific that many already fear deportation enough to carry their papers everywhere and make plans for their children should they be captured and deported, but now some of those in our nation who are most vulnerable will be cut off from the instruments of justice or risk their lives in this country. The AP notes, “Immigration agents made courtroom arrests under the Obama administration, but the pace appears to have picked up under President Donald Trump, whose administration has seen a roughly 40 percent surge in arrests overall”. The AP adds, “ICE reaffirmed its 2014 policy is in place to avoid deportation arrests at “sensitive locations,” including schools, day cares, hospitals, places of worship, funerals, weddings rallies and public demonstrations. Courthouses have never been part of that list.” How thoughtful!

A MEMBER OF THE GOP DEATH CULT TOOK A HOLOCAUST DENIER TO SOTU

Mediaite reports, “Congressman Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican who is a fan-favorite of the conspiracy-minded right, defended the racist troll he invited to Tuesday’s State of the Union on Fox Business Network by saying ‘he’s not a holocaust denier’ — even though he is literally a holocaust denier.” So the death cult GOP is embracing the extreme right that denies the genocide of at least six million. In case it is not abundantly obvious, this is very unhealthy. As “Gaetz took flack for bringing the alt-right media figure Charles ‘Chuck’ Johnson to President Donald Trump’s first SOTU this week,” the foolish Congressman,Gaetz initially tried to diminish his connection to the internet troll — saying Johnson randomly showed-up in his office and basically asked for a ticket”. However, as The Washington Post notes, “If there’s one member of Congress who embodies the Trump era — a combative cable-news fixture who seems to thrive in controversy and has been an unflinching critic of the FBI  — you’d be hard pressed to find a more perfect character than first-term Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.).” Of course, “Gaetz has been one of the leading figures in the #ReleaseTheMemo push on the right,” and The Washington Post notes the decision to host Johnson came “just days after he appeared on conspiracy-theory driven Infowars’ Alex Jones’s show to advocate, for the umpteenth time, that a secret GOP memo alleging FBI bias in its Russia investigation gets publicized.”

RUSSIA WITH PUTIN

The New York Review of Books reports, “Putin was relatively unknown outside of Russia when President Boris Yeltsin surprised the world on New Year’s Eve, 1999, by resigning and appointing Putin as his immediate successor. Inside Russia, though, Putin had advanced to the highest echelons in the state security apparatus, renamed the Federal Security Service, or FSB. In his inaugural New Year’s presidential message, Putin assured Russian citizens that ‘freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of the press, the right to private property—all these basic principles of a civilized society will be reliably protected by the state.’ His actions soon suggested otherwise. Russia was then ranked higher than China on Freedom House’s civil liberties score, about level with Brazil, and was approaching parity with India—all considered members of the ‘BRIC’ group of emerging-market countries. Russia’s private sector had grown to 89 percent of the economy; the public sector accounted for only 11 percent of GDP; these are figures worth remembering.” The New York Review of Books notes, “Putin’s real intention—and not from the day he entered the Kremlin, but from the day he left Dresden—was to reassert the authority of the autocratic state.” Putin, “went about it by methodically appointing longtime loyalists from the Russian security forces, military, and powerful ministries such as Interior Affairs and Defense, to important positions in government and industry. This sort of heavy reliance on personal networks dates back to tsarist and Communist periods in Russia, when connections were essential for supporting nearly every aspect of daily life. This clannish proclivity has shaped Russia’s culture and Putin’s psyche. The mix of high-ranking officials in Putin’s inner circle is collectively referred to as the siloviki, a term that conveys power with the ultimate authority to secure compliance. Despite Putin’s market-friendly rhetoric, designed to instill confidence in global investors, his immediate strategy was to steer Russia away from its nascent market economy to a state-capitalist oligarchy,” The New York Review of Books adds, as the rest of the article details how this occurred.

MEET THE BUZZY “GRASSROOTS” KREMLIN MEDIA START UP IN BERLIN!

The Daily Beast reports, “Redfish, a Berlin-based media collective, launched with a promise to deliver ‘radical, in-depth grassroots features,’ with professional graphics, filed everywhere from Eastern Europe to South America. Its first report, on a fire at a public housing development in England that killed over 70 people, has been praised by Vice, as a ‘fantastic example of amateur community-produced media.’” However, “Redfish does not appear to be as independent and community-based as its branding suggests. Its reports are the product of an in-house team of staff correspondents and producers, most of whom last worked for Russian government media.” The Daily Beast adds, “Redfish, for its part, won’t clarify. In an email, the company said it ‘is not interested in providing a comment for your story.’ RT, meanwhile, did not respond to multiple emailed requests for comment, and phone calls to its offices in Moscow went unanswered.” Note this colleagues in media: “The Redfish website, registered in September 2017, reveals little more than a desire to be perceived as a collective of activist journalists. ‘We are not driven by chasing clicks or trends—we are journalists who strive to be objective about where things stand,’ it says.” But then it goes on to say, “our team has a proven track record of both supporting and covering struggles which challenge the exploitative global system that enslaves humankind and is destroying our planet.” So they work for the Russian mafia state? Um, ok. The Daily Beast reports, “Elizabeth Cocker, better known by the moniker Lizzie Phelan, is the only name listed on redfish.media. Before Redfish, Cocker spent the previous seven years working for the propaganda arms of Moscow and Tehran, her work closely adhering to the lines pushed by the governments that paid her.” Another of the correspondents, “Jelena Milincic, whose Twitter bio identifies her as a correspondent for Redifsh, was a reporter for RT’s Spanish-language network as of October 2017. In 2013, Milincic met Russian President Vladimir Putin when he visited RT’s headquarters in Moscow, engaging in a roundtable discussion in which she lamented the difficulties she faced trying to obtain Russian citizenship. (Milincic is a native of Belgrade whose mother heads Sputnik Serbia, another media outlet established by the Kremlin.)” In response, Putin said something that would be considered a violation by the #MeToo crowd: “You are a young and beautiful woman. I am sorry, but it is true that you are a woman of childbearing age. Your boss here sets a good example, by the way…” and that is sort of because it is.
