—–TOWARDS A PEACEFUL NUCLEAR EXCHANGE—–
DIALING IT DOWN: THIS IS NOT YOUR COLD WAR FIRE + FURY
POLITICO reports, “President Donald Trump has agreed to meet directly with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, in what could be the biggest breakthrough in the tense nuclear saber-rattling that has defined much of his first year in office.” Weak! But we might be spared! Or the Lubyanka shitstain squatting in the White House might get played. What do you think will happen? While we wait for the final blast you may wish to return to your regularly scheduled narcissism because the Koreas are complicated. But in case you care, POLITICO flushes out the details a bit, adding, “The invitation from the North Korean dictator was announced at the White House by South Korea’s national security adviser, who reported that North Korea also agreed that in the interim it will halt its missile tests and is prepared to negotiate ending its nuclear weapons program altogether.” POLITICO notes, “A senior administration official later explained that South Korean officials briefed the president inside the Oval Office on the verbal offer. Also present were White House Chief of Staff John Kelly; Defense Secretary Jim Mattis; National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster; Director of National Intelligence Dan Coates; and Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan,” so there were adults around. Can you believe? I can’t believe it’s not the final blast! But seriously, take a lesson from Libya and Ukraine and Obama’s Nuclear Zero nonsense, no nation should give up their nukes or lay them down if they do not want their sovereignty violated. Better to never have had them to have had them and given them up or lay them down.
21 TREATED IN UK AS A RESULT OF RUSSIAN STATE ACT OF WAR
The Guardian reports, “The investigation into the attempted murder of Sergei Skripal has widened, as police sealed off the graves of his wife, Liudmila, and son, Alexander, and confirmed that a total of 21 people had been treated as a result of the incident.” The Guardian notes, “The use of a nerve toxin, usually only held in state military stockpiles, is being seen as a key indicator of possible Kremlin involvement.” The BBC adds, “About 180 military personnel have been deployed to Salisbury to help in the investigation into the attempted murder of an ex-Russian spy and his daughter. They will include Royal Marines and military personnel who have specialist training in chemical warfare and decontamination”. What the fuck was Russia thinking? Oh right, the UK lets them get away with this kind of shit time and again, only now we see their operational capabilities have depleted because 21 additional casualties is no clean targeted assassination. Note: it is not terrorism when a nation-state actor is involved and the victim is also a state actor, then by definition it is an act of war. Do not confuse this present moment of warm hybrid warfare with the war on terror; we are not engaged in global whack-a-mole with Russia, we know where the enemy resides and it is not in a cave but rather a walled compound much bigger than Abbottabad called the Kremlin. Send in Seal Team 6!
THE UK RESPONDS TO ACT OF WAR WITH TEPID SEEMING DECLARATIONS
The Telegraph reports, “Police Sergeant Nick Bailey has been named as the officer who was injured with a nerve agent as he attended the scene where Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned.” So in lieu of responding to this as an act of war, which it is, “Amber Rudd has promised to bring those behind the attempted murder of Col Skripal to justice ‘whoever they are and wherever they may be’ as MPs accuse the Kremlin of a ‘brazen act of war’.” At least the MPs know what’s up. The Telegraph adds, “The Home Secretary described the poisoning of Col Skripal and his daughter as a ‘reckless’ crime, adding that it was conducted in the ‘most cruel and public way’. It came as former minister Sir Edward Leigh said the circumstantial evidence against Russia was ‘very strong’, warning that if the Kremlin were implicated it would be an act of war aimed at ‘humiliating our country,’” but just with the use of the word “if” you know this ambiguity will be exploited by the UK to do nothing and by the Kremlin to do more. But Rudd said, “The investigation is moving at pace and this Government will act without hesitation as the facts become clearer.” That will be the day or rather they will not even hesitate to do nothing, so ingrained is this reaction to Kremlin antics and corruption and death squads by now. Hope everyone enjoyed playtime because it is over now.

THIS IS HOW THEY PISS + MARK TERRITORY LIKE DOGS, PART I
The Sun reports, “Ex-KGB hardman Putin — who has defended the Syrian regime’s use of sarin on civilians — made a thinly veiled reference to the Salisbury horror on a visit to a bakery in Russia. He complained about Western sanctions as ‘illegitimate and unfair’ efforts to contain Russia, warning: ‘We will win in the long run.’ And he added: ‘Those who serve us with poison will eventually swallow it and poison themselves.’” Remember Obama’s red line? Is it too much to be reminded of it right now?
From The Sun.
THIS IS HOW THEY PISS + MARK TERRITORY, LIKE DOGS, PART II
Gizmodo reports, “The Russian Embassy in the UK is known for being a troll online. So it’s no surprise that it’s being pretty flippant about the recent news that a Russian spy was poisoned with a nerve agent in Salisbury. Make that a British spy who was poisoned with a nerve agent in Salisbury.” Get it? It’s also calling out their motive. Maybe it was a 300 pound guy in his basement. Maybe it was China.
THIS IS HOW THEY PISS + MARK TERRITORY, LIKE DOGS, PART III
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports on, “the evening of March 7, when Channel One’s main evening current affairs program, Vremya Novostei, reported on it,” namely the poisoning of Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia with a nerve agent, “with a less-than-subtle commentary.” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty adds, “Skripal is ‘by training, a traitor to his country,’ host Kirill Kleimenov said. ‘I don’t wish death on anyone,’ he added, ‘but for purely educational purposes, for anyone who dreams of such a career, I have a warning: being a traitor is one of the most dangerous professions in the world.’”
TRUMP, FLANKED BY WORKERS, ANNOUNCES SOVIET TURN FOR ECONOMY
POLITICO reports, “President Donald Trump brushed off concerns raised by fellow Republicans and signed a pair of proclamations on Thursday setting new tariffs on steel and aluminum imports and potentially triggering a destructive trade war with the European Union and other nations.” POLITICO adds, “The president’s decision, which establishes tariffs of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum, brought cheers from the steel industry and organized labor.” Where were the children with flowers? Yay protectionism and tariffs! Yay more intervention in the economy! And yay for being flanked by workers while destroying some of the foundations of capitalism! If you have not, now might be an excellent time to see Andrzej Wajda’s oeuvre, “Man of Marble,” and “Man of Steel,” and acquaint yourselves with the most brilliant portrayal of command economics, workers propaganda and other mishaps of Sovietization and economic subjugation by Russia. While no lie lasts forever, there are not too many historic precedents for Russian imposed rulers doing good things with their countries’ economies so saddle up! In the future great state a rough ride will not be some sort of porn preference but why you queue for hours for a type of crude toilet paper like in late Soviet times. Are you ready Trumpistan for the workers’ paradise of the future great state? Now is a good time to recall that the goal of active measures is to capture the state, so foreign policy, defense and the economy.
HOW DO YOU WIN RIGGED ELECTIONS?
CNN reports, “The nation’s election infrastructure is almost no more secure than it was a few years ago, a new report concludes, continuing to sound the alarm ahead of the upcoming midterms. The report from the Brennan Center for Justice, a division of New York University School of Law that studies democracy and justice issues, looked at the age of voting machines and areas where there’s still a lack of auditing trails for votes, arguing that Congress needs to give states money to update their voting systems and institute voting audits.” Fat chance as long as the GOP death cult has Russia’s backing and Russia keeps working for them and against the republic. CNN notes, “Experts say it is virtually impossible for a major nationwide election to be influenced by hackers, given the decentralized nature of the US system and the checks that are in place. But they say smaller elections could theoretically be impacted, and a lack of confidence in the voting system among the electorate would itself be a concern.” Rohrabacher’s constituents are too stoned to notice or care, right? These are all lessons we should have learned two years ago but why let reality interfere with pipe dreams about a blue wave of some kind? How do you win rigged elections? Without Russia on your side, of course.
BIPARTISAN SENATORS SAY WH NEEDS TO WAKE UP ON CYBERSECURITY
The Hill reports, “A bipartisan group of senators is pressing President Trump to issue a national strategy for deterring malicious activity in cyberspace ‘as soon as possible,’ accusing successive administrations of not giving enough urgency to the issue.” Yesterday or 2016 was already too late so folks, the republic is sort of treading water and there is a huge wave coming. The Hill adds, “Lawmakers have taken issue with both the Obama and Trump administrations for failing to develop a comprehensive strategy for deterring and responding to malicious behavior in cyberspace.”

HOUSE INTEL DEMOCRATS TO SEEK SUBPOENA FOR LEWANDOWSKI
Bloomberg reports, “Democrats said they’ll seek a subpoena to force former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to answer all of their questions after he refused for the second time to respond to some inquiries about his communications with President Donald Trump.” Bloomberg adds, “Representative Adam Schiff, the committee’s top Democrat, said it’s not up to a witness ‘to pick and choose’ what he’s willing to discuss. He said Republicans are weighing the request to compel Lewandowski’s testimony.” Bloomberg notes, “While Lewandowski did answer some questions Thursday, Schiff of California said that he refused to respond to inquiries about a Trump Tower meeting with Russians in June 2016 or the preparation of a false White House statement about what was discussed once that meeting became public. Schiff said Lewandowski also balked at questions about Trump’s firing of FBI Director Jim Comey as well as any discussions he may have had with Trump about the possibility of firing Robert Mueller”.
CONGRESSIONAL DEMS WANT TO KNOW WHY T REX CAN’T COUNTER RUSSIA
The Daily Beast reports, “Congressional Democrats are demanding answers from Secretary of State Rex Tillerson over the failure of the State Department to spend money allocated for countering Russian election meddling.” The Daily Beast notes, “the State Department had not spent a dime of the $120 million Congress appropriated for the purpose of countering foreign election-meddling and anti-democratic propaganda efforts—$60 million per year for fiscal years 2017 and 2018. The Pentagon transferred just $40 million of that funding to the State Department’s Global Engagement Center this week.” The Daily Beast adds, “‘It remains unclear if or when any funding will be put to use. This baffling inaction has failed to bolster America and our allies at a critical moment,’ lawmakers said in their letter, which was signed by all committee Democrats except for Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI). Gabbard’s office did not immediately return request for comment.” Gabbard you may recall has played nice with Kremlin friend Bashar Al Assad, the butcher of Damascus and all of Syria, and made excuses for this fact in the past. So is she owned fully or just partially by our occupiers? This is also a good time to note that this is not strictly one party over another, both parties have been infiltrated, but rather it is a matter of degrees. The Daily Beast adds, “One particular line of interest among Foreign Affairs Committee Democrats is why Tillerson’s posture toward Russia seems so out of tune with fellow members of President Donald Trump’s national security team. While the secretary of state recently told Fox News that it would be ‘very difficult to pre-empt’ Russia’s disinformation campaigns ‘once they decide’ to launch those efforts. ‘It’s unclear how you reached this conclusion considering the administration hasn’t even tried,’ lawmakers wrote.” Oh, smack. And still nothing will happen because call out culture has become an end unto itself, even at these levels.

ERIK PRINCE THE ANTI-BALLER TO FETE ROHRABACHER THIS MONTH
CNN reports, “Blackwater founder Erik Prince will host a fundraiser this month for Russia-friendly Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, as Prince faces new questions over a 2017 meeting currently being investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller.” How many times must we find new ways to retell the tale of Icarus since 2016? CNN notes, “Prince and Rohrabacher have been friends and mutual supporters for years: Prince interned for the California congressman on Capitol Hill in 1990, and Rohrabacher vigorously defended Prince when Blackwater faced congressional scrutiny during President George W. Bush’s administration.” CNN continues, “The fundraising event, slated for March 18 at Prince’s Middleburg, Virginia residence, is expected to be attended by GOP Reps. Tom Garrett Jr. and Dave Brat, and Lt. Colonel Oliver North, according to an invitation obtained by CNN. Tickets start at $1,000 for the general reception, although donors paying $2,700 will also be invited to attend a VIP event beforehand.”
RUSSIAN TROLLS WORKED TO TORPEDO MITT AS SECRETARY OF STATE
The Wall Street Journal reports, “Weeks after Donald Trump was elected president, Russia-backed online ‘trolls’ flooded social media to try to block Mitt Romney from securing a top job in the incoming administration”. According to The Wall Street Journal, “The operatives called the 2012 GOP presidential nominee, then a contender for secretary of state, a ‘two headed snake’ and a ‘globalist puppet,’ promoted a rally outside Trump Tower and spread a petition to block Mr. Romney’s diplomatic appointment”.

RUSSIANS CREATED AN ANTI-HILLARY VIDEO GAME
CNN reports, “Russians created an anti-Hillary Clinton video game called ‘Hilltendo’ and tried to make it go viral in the weeks before the 2016 U.S. presidential election”. CNN notes, “On the surface, it looks like a silly, Flash-based game of the sort that populated the internet for years. Yet Hilltendo appears to be more sophisticated than that. In fact, it may indicate an intent to zero in on the people who played the game, track their behavior on social media, and hit them later with micro-targeted advertisements,” which P.S. is how most things work on the internet when your Congress has not passed any data protection laws. CNN adds, “The game consisted of three levels, starting with this one: ‘Help Hillary delete as many classified emails as possible before she is caught.’ Players controlled a Hillary Clinton character who sits on a missile and eliminates emails, all while avoiding FBI agents.” CNN continues, “The next level asked: ‘How much money can Hillary get from the Arab states?’ At the top of the screen, nations’ flags drop money. At the bottom, the Clinton character holds a basket to collect the cash as it falls.” And wait for it, “The final level challenged users to ‘Help Hillary throw the Constitution as far as possible,’ and it included caricatures of then-President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton.” CNN reports, “The game’s website had Facebook and Google tracking software embedded on it.”
TOP US GENERAL WARNS WE MUST KEEP UP WITH RUSSIA OR ELSE
Why not by next year? Defense One reports, “The Russian military may surpass U.S. military capability in Europe by 2025, Gen. Curtis M. Scaparrotti, head of U.S.European Command, told lawmakers on Thursday. He emphasized that keeping up EUCOM’s modernization was key to keeping up and maintaining superiority.” CNN reports, “The top US general in Europe has said he does not believe there is a unified effort across the US government to confront Russian cyberthreats.” General Curtis Scaparrotti told the Senate Armed Service Committee, “I don’t believe there is an effective unification across the interagency with the energy and the focus that we could attain.” CNN adds, “Scaparrotti, the commander of European Command and the NATO supreme allied commander Europe, was not speaking specifically about Russian efforts to meddle in US elections but Russian activity more broadly and made clear his command was not responsible for safeguarding US elections. He said Russian cyber-efforts have concrete targets as well as a larger, more existential goal.” Of great concern to even those of you who remain totally asleep because it has not disrupted you yet, hear this warning because it will as, “Scaparrotti said Russia’s cybertroops have also directed their weapons at US infrastructure.” CNN adds, “The top US commander in Europe also said the US does not have a have good picture on how Russia is utilizing commercial enterprises in their cyber-activity. ‘We are getting a better understanding of it. I would not characterize it as a good picture at this point, not satisfactory to me,’ he said.”
NATO CONDUCTS LARGEST ARTILLERY EXERCISE SINCE END OF COLD WAR
Stars and Stripes reports from Grafenwoehr, Germany that, “It has sounded like a nonstop thunderstorm at this base for the past two weeks, during which the Army has conducted the largest artillery exercise in Europe since the Cold War.” Stars and Stripes adds, “More than 3,700 soldiers from 26 nations are participating in Dynamic Front 18 — the Army’s premier multinational artillery drill on the Continent — almost three times as many participants as last year. The exercise, which began Feb. 23, wraps up on Saturday.” Stars and Stripes notes, “The focus of the exercise is to improve communication between artillery from the different nations — and to identify how to best use their assets.” Stars and Stripes adds, “One answer has been to encourage NATO allies to incorporate Artillery Systems Cooperation Activities, a computer program used by several allies to communicate in real time, linking their field artillery and command and control systems,” so look for Russia to hack that. Stars and Stripes notes, “This year nine nations are using the ASCA system, four more than last year. It’s increasing use has made for better synchronization of the various artillery pieces”.

RAND REPORTS OF RUSSIAN MILITARY SUPERIORITY IN THE BALTIC
The Baltic Times reports, “NATO would be overwhelmed by superior Russian firepower in the event of war in Eastern Europe, despite years of trying to strengthen its forces in the region, analysts from U.S. think tank RAND Corporation have warned. If war were to break out, the report warns, Russia could quickly overrun the Baltic region and use ‘brinksmanship to attempt to freeze the conflict,’ according to lead author Scott Boston and colleagues.”

RUSSIAN OFFICIALS BLOCK NAVALNY ELECTION DAY BOYCOTT RALLY
The Moscow Times reports, “Moscow city officials have rejected opposition leader Alexei Navalny’s request to hold a rally in the capital on March 18, the day of Russia’s presidential elections.” The Moscow Times recalls, “Navalny was barred from participating in upcoming elections, which Vladimir Putin is expected to win, due to a prior criminal conviction for embezzlement that his supporters say is politically motivated. He has called for a boycott the elections in which authorities are hoping to secure a 70 percent turnout.”
From The Moscow Times.
The Washington Post reports, “President Trump’s former campaign manager pleaded not guilty to tax and fraud charges in federal court in Virginia on Thursday as he appeared before a judge in the second criminal case brought against him by the special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.” The Washington Post adds, “During the hearing in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Judge T.S. Ellis III put Paul Manafort on home confinement, requiring him to wear a GPS monitoring device”.
From The Washington Post.
POLITICO reports, “A federal judge in Virginia on Thursday set a July 10 trial date for former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort on one of two indictments he’s facing in cases brought by special counsel Robert Mueller.” POLITICO notes, “The schedule set by U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis III at a hearing in Alexandria puts the relatively new Virginia case — involving 18 counts of tax evasion and bank fraud — on a track for trial before a separate case Mueller’s team filed in Washington last year charging Manafort with money laundering and failing to register as a foreign lobbyist in connection with work for Ukraine. Last week, a judge ordered Manafort’s Washington trial to begin Sept. 17.” This turns the heat up on Manafort and his lawyers considerably.

NOT BREAKING NEWS: 2013 MOSCOW TRUMP LET INTENT BE KNOWN
The New York Daily News reports, “President Trump had ambitions for the presidency during his 2013 trip to Moscow for Miss Universe, according to a new book.” We knew this but we just chose to forget it. The New York Daily News adds, “The future commander-in-chief was interested in building a hotel in the Russian capital when he brought the pageant there, but also scheduled it around machinations for his White House run, Michael Isikoff and David Corn wrote in ‘Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump.’” The book as excerpted revealed nothing we did not already know, but if you want to revisit Trump’s 2013 Moscow trip, it’s one way to relive it, another is by bashing your head in or simply turn on the cable news chatter to remind yourself what we have done to our nation.

OH LOOK ANOTHER PEDOPHILE IN THE CIRCLE AROUND TRUMP
The Atlantic reports, “A political operative who frequented the White House in the early days of President Trump’s administration, George Nader, was indicted in 1985 on charges of importing to the United States obscene material, including photos of nude boys ‘engaged in a variety of sexual acts,’ according to publicly available court records. Nader pleaded not guilty, and the charges against him were ultimately dismissed several months after evidence seized from Nader’s home was thrown out on procedural grounds.” A federal felony charge too and doubtful therefore the Secret Service did not know. As for the details of the case, “According to federal court documents, the charges brought against Nader in 1985 stemmed from a package delivered to his company, International Insight. The package, which was opened by a U.S. Customs inspector on suspicion that it had been imported illegally, contained two pictures and two magazines that depicted nude boys, according to the court ruling. It also included a film, four magazines, and an advertisement, materials that ‘depicted nude boys engaged in a variety of sexual acts.’ The Customs inspectors soon obtained a search warrant for Nader’s home to seize both the materials in the package as well as any ‘other photographs, magazines, writings and documents which are evidence of violations of’ two federal obscenity laws.” However, “18 months later, the court ruled that the latter part of the warrant was impermissibly general, and threw out additional evidence that had been seized from his home. The evidence that was discarded included material that was described in the court ruling as obscene,” The Atlantic adds, noting, “A docket for the case shows that the charges against Nader were ultimately dismissed on the eve of his trial. The lead prosecutor on the case declined to comment.”

KREMLIN SCUM CULTIVATES TIES TO BRIDGE GUN NUT NATIONS DIVIDE
Mother Jones reports, “attention is focused around a middle-aged Russian central bank official and a photogenic young gun activist from Siberia who share several passions: posing with assault rifles, making connections with Republican presidential candidates, and publicizing their travels between Moscow and America on social media. Alexander Torshin and his protégé Maria Butina also share an extraordinary status with America’s largest gun lobbying group,” lifetime member. Mother Jones adds, “Of particular interest are their overtures to Trump. Butina asked him straight-up at a campaign event about the future of ‘damaging’ sanctions against Russia.” Mother Jones notes, “Torshin twice tried to meet with Trump, according to the New York Times, and did meet with Donald Trump Jr. at an NRA event. Meanwhile, the House Intelligence Committee has heard sworn testimony about possible Kremlin ‘infiltration’ of the NRA and other conservative groups. And the FBI reportedly is investigating whether Torshin illegally funneled money to the Trump campaign through the NRA—which backed Trump with a record $30 million.” Mother Jones notes, “Torshin, a former Russian senator and longtime ally of Vladimir Putin, has been accused of having ties to the Russian mob (an allegation he has vehemently denied). Butina, a former graduate student at American University in Washington, DC, who founded a Russian gun rights group, has reportedly bragged about her connections to the Trump campaign.” Mother Jones has a fairly complete timeline of events involving these two and their antics. With many items culled from social media and TRUMPISTAN WATCH having observed a similar oeuvre with other visible members of Russia’s security services, it’s highly likely that this is at least her true background. In any case, the timeline provided suggests Russia’s Right to Bear Arms group, which Butina allegedly founded, goes back to 2011. Mother Jones notes, “Four days before Trump announces his campaign, Butina writes in the conservative National Interest urging friendship between ‘the bear and the elephant’”. Then in July 2015, “At FreedomFest in Las Vegas, Butina asks Trump, ‘What will be your foreign politics…and do you want to continue the politics of sanctions that are damaging on both economy?’ Trump responds, ‘I know Putin and I’ll tell you what, we get along with Putin…I don’t think you’d need the sanctions. I think that we would get along very, very well.’” In early 2016, “Butina and [Paul] Erickson form Bridges LLC. Erickson later tells McClatchy that they created the South Dakota-based company for Butina to get financial assistance for her graduate studies—‘an unusual way to use a LLC,’ as McClatchy dryly notes.” Interestingly just four days after the election, “Butina hosts a costume party in DC for her 28th birthday, attended by Erickson and Trump campaign aides. Erickson dresses as Russian mystic Rasputin, and Butina dresses as the Russian empress Alexandra. Two unnamed guests tell the Daily Beast that Butina bragged about being part of the Trump campaign’s communications with Russia.”

OLEG DERIPASKA SPRAYS HIS KREMLIN TRASH ALL OVER FAR RIGHT PRESS
The Daily Caller, a most untrustworthy far right outlet, has an item by Paul Manafort pal turned persecuter Oleg Deripaska, who has made our politics his business, so now he writes to tell us the Russia investigation is a hoax and we are all Russophobes. So let’s just throw it down and get it out of the way, fuck you Oleg Deripaska! Or if we are to take the “Wayne’s World” approach, Oleg Deripaska blows goats. Beyond the usual covfefe Kremlin scum has to offer, the oligarch, who recently made headlines for a former escort of his being locked up in a Thai jail after she revealed his secret meetings with a Kremlin aide on her Instagram, decides to offer us government lessons from his particular corner of uncivil society. Seeing as how he helped pervert our democracy into this disgusting shithole, it might behoove us to listen to this much. Kremlin scum Deripaska “writes” (we must assume a ghostwriter is involved, probably a PR exec from a DC-based firm), “What has been inelegantly termed the ‘Deep State’ is really this: shadow power exercised by a small number of individuals from media, business, government and the intelligence community, foisting provocative and cynically false manipulations on the public. Out of these manipulations, an agenda of these architects’ own design is born.” He makes it sound so sinister and organized because it probably is in Russia. Deripaska is making a classic mistake in projecting his understanding of his own system onto ours. At least it is not just Americans very visibly doing so. Luckily, just so you know he is full of shit, he throws in an attack on an old favorite punching bag of the Kremlin’s (thereby ensuring his total independence as well), Victoria Nuland. “A former Obama State Department official, Nuland, has been recently outed as another shadow player, reviewing and disseminating Fusion’s dossier, and reportedly, hundreds of other dossiers over a period of years,” he writes. That’s a joke, right? It was her job; she was an Under-Secretary of State. You see what is painful here alongside the loss of democracy is that the stupid with poison in its head but a wallet flush with cash keeps winning. More painful yet is the knowledge that we were not always stupid about Russia but became so over time, over a single generation. Now we have to suffer the indignity of Oleg Deripaska op-eds. It’s worse than a porn star suing the president for some of us.
