TRUMP’S GIFT OF THE DAY TO PUTIN: SYRIA WITHDRAWAL

The Washington Post reports, “President Trump has instructed military leaders to prepare to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, but has not set a date for them to do so”. The Washington Post adds, “In a meeting with top national security officials Tuesday, Trump stressed that U.S. troops can be involved in current training tasks for local forces to ensure security in areas liberated from the Islamic State”. The Washington Post notes, “But the president said that the U.S. mission would not extend beyond the destruction of the Islamic State, and that he expects other countries, particularly wealthy Arab states in the region, to pick up the task of paying for reconstruction of stabilized areas, including sending their own troops”. That will work out well. One thing is for certain: nothing is. As The Washington Post notes in a separate article even our fake Russian bullshit president noted “he did not want to be having the same conversation about withdrawal six months or more from now.”

AMERICA’S OTHER ARYAN PRINCESS: “THE THREAT IS REAL”

The AP reports, “President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation directing the National Guard to be deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border.” The AP adds, “The threat is real,” Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said at an afternoon briefing, adding that Trump was signing a proclamation to put the deployment into effect. ‘It’s time to act.’” The AP notes, “Federal law prohibits the use of active-duty service members for law enforcement inside the U.S., unless specifically authorized by Congress. But over the past 12 years, presidents have twice sent National Guard troops to the border to bolster security and assist with surveillance and other support. The White House counsel’s office has been working on the idea for several weeks, according to a senior official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal plans.”

IT’S THE ECONOMY, STUPID

The Washington Post reports, “President Trump showed no sign Wednesday of backing down from an escalating trade confrontation with China, even as financial markets wobbled and American farmers and manufacturers warned that he was inviting a damaging commercial clash.” The Washington Post adds, “Hours after the Chinese government announced plans to match the president’s tariffs on $50 billion in imported Chinese goods with import levies on U.S. soybeans, cars and airplanes, Trump fired off a bellicose tweet,” which, as usual, is always extremely unhelpful. Spoken like a man who has declared bankruptcy no less than five times, our fake Russian bullshit president tweeted, “When you’re already $500 Billion DOWN, you can’t lose!” How does a man his age behave in such an insanely destructive fashion with such consistency over such a sustained period of time, especially at his age? The Washington Post notes, “Trump is threatening to impose tariffs unless China abandons a host of policies aimed at vacuuming up American technology, including foreign ownership restrictions, state-backed investments in Silicon Valley and cybertheft.” The goal of active measures is to capture the state: foreign policy, defense and the economy.

ROGER STONE SAID WIKILEAKS FORTHCOMING ON DAY HE SENT J-ASS EMAIL

CNN reports, “Roger Stone appeared on the InfoWars radio show the same day he sent an email claiming he dined with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange — and he predicted ‘devastating’ upcoming disclosures about the Clinton Foundation.” Ah yes, “predicted”! CNN notes, “The comments also raise more questions about what Stone knew about WikiLeaks and about the veracity of his claims to have been in contact with Assange, which he now denies.”

FAKING SANCTIONS, ROUND TWO

The Washington Post reports, “The United States is expected to impose additional sanctions against Russia by Friday, according to U.S. officials. The sanctions are economic and designed to target oligarchs with ties to President Vladimir Putin, the officials said. The final number of Russians facing punitive action remains fluid, the U.S. officials said, but is expected to include at least a half-dozen people under sanction powers given to the president by Congress.”

THE BEST PEOPLE: GEORGE NADER ALSO HAS TIES TO RUSSIA

The New York Times reports, “A witness who is cooperating in the special counsel investigation, George Nader, has connections to both the Persian Gulf states and Russia and may have information that links two important strands of the inquiry together, interviews and records show.” The New York Times adds, “Mr. Nader used his longstanding ties to Kirill Dmitriev, the manager of a state-run Russian investment fund, to help set up a meeting in the Seychelles between Mr. Dmitriev and a Trump adviser days before Donald J. Trump took office.” The New York Times notes, “Mueller’s investigators have asked multiple witnesses about the Seychelles meeting, part of a broader line of inquiry surrounding contacts between Emirati advisers and Trump administration officials. They have also pressed for details about a meeting Mr. Nader attended in New York in early 2017 with Mr. Kushner and Mr. Bannon with the hedge fund manager Richard Gerson, a friend of Mr. Kushner’s and the founder of Falcon Edge Capital. Mr. Mueller’s particular interest in that meeting is unclear, although Mr. Gerson has had business dealings with the court of the U.A.E.’s Prince Mohammed.” Additionally, “Mr. Mueller’s investigators have also questioned Joel Zamel, an Australian entrepreneur who has an office in Tel Aviv and knows Mr. Nader”. The New York Times continues, “In February, federal agents working for Mr. Mueller stopped Mr. Zamel at Reagan National Airport outside Washington and briefly seized his electronic devices, the people said. Mr. Zamel later appeared before a grand jury and was questioned about Mr. Nader, though it was unclear whether Mr. Zamel had any information about Mr. Nader’s ties to Russia.”

MUELLER STOPPING OLIGARCHS ON THEIR WAY INTO TRUMPISTAN

CNN reports, “Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has taken the unusual step of questioning Russian oligarchs who traveled into the US, stopping at least one and searching his electronic devices when his private jet landed at a New York area airport”. CNN adds, “A second Russian oligarch was stopped during a recent trip to the US, although it is not clear if he was searched”. CNN notes, “Mueller’s team has also made an informal voluntary document and interview request to a third Russian oligarch who has not traveled to the US recently.” CNN observes, “The situations have one thing in common: Investigators are asking whether wealthy Russians illegally funneled cash donations directly or indirectly into Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and inauguration.”

MAKES YOU WONDER WHAT FARABOOK WILL DROP FRIDAY AT 5PM

The New York Times reports, “Facebook on Wednesday said that the data of up to 87 million users may have been improperly shared with a political consulting firm connected to President Trump during the 2016 election — a figure far higher than the estimate of 50 million that had been widely cited since the leak was reported last month.” The New York Times adds, “Mark Zuckerberg, the company’s chief executive, also announced that Facebook would offer all of its users the same tools and controls required under European privacy rules. The European rules, which go into effect next month, give people more control over how companies use their digital data.” Now let’s see if he keeps his word.

ZUCK TO MAKE CONGRESSONAL CAMEO FOR AN “INVESTGATION” SHOW

Vice reports, “Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is coming to Capitol Hill on April 11 for his first-ever congressional testimony, a House committee announced Wednesday morning. Vice adds, “Republican Rep. Greg Walden of Oregon and Democratic Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. of New Jersey in a joint statement as heads of the House Energy and Commerce Committee,” announced the move with some customary showboating for the occasion that was sure to reference “all Americans”. Vice adds, “Next Wednesday, however, might not be Zuckerberg’s only congressional hearing. A Facebook spokesperson told VICE News that conversations with other committees are ongoing. Always in slight competition with the House, the Senate will likely demand their own hearing as well. Several senators, including the Republican chairman of the Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley, have called for the Facebook CEO to testify.” Stay tuned, these are the days that give you hives on “As the World Burns”.

T REX REDESIGN BILL IS $12 MILLION WITH $300/HOUR CONSULTANTS

POLITICO reports, “Now that Tillerson has been fired, the vaunted ‘Redesign’ initiative he launched faces an uncertain future, but at least one clear legacy: around $12 million dollars spent just for private consultants who in some cases charged the State Department more than $300 an hour.” POLITICO notes, “As many as 90 consultants,” mostly from Deloitte worked on the project.

RUSSIA LOSES OPCW VOTE AS THEY DESERVED TO
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty
reports, “Russia has lost a vote by the global chemical-weapons watchdog for a new joint investigation, including Russian participation, into a nerve-agent attack in Salisbury, England, against a former Russian spy in England. Moscow, accused by the British government of carrying out the attack, was seeking to be involved in a new investigation by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) into the poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter. Reuters reports that China, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Algeria, and Iran backed the Russian motion at the OPCW’s April 4 closed-door meeting, while 17 members abstained.”

OH LET’S ALL JUST AGREE TO THE SAME TRITE BULLSHIT

Reuters reports, “Russia’s foreign intelligence agency chief Sergei Naryshkin said on Wednesday that Washington’s actions toward Russia mean its possible to start speaking of a return to the Cold War era.” At their little confab Moscow Security Conference that only involves China, Iran, Serbia and a bunch of other countries, Naryshkin said, “Washington has become fixated with the fight against a non-existent, so-called Russian threat.” Nope. It’s as real as the Russian economy is shit and the real Russophobes residing in the Kremlin who treat the Russian people like dogs or cattle or sheep.

EXTRADITED RUSSIAN HACKER’S REPORTED ESCAPE ATTEMPT
CBS San Francisco affiliate
reports, “A Russian citizen accused of hacking into records of three Internet technology companies appeared in shackles in federal court in San Francisco Wednesday and agreed to remain in custody for the time being. Yevgeniy Nikulin, 30, of Moscow, waived his right at Wednesday’s session before U.S. Magistrate Elizabeth Laporte to have a hearing on whether he should be detained in custody while awaiting trial.” CBS San Francisco adds, Nikulin was charged by a federal grand jury in San Francisco in a nine-count indictment in 2016 with breaking into the computers of LinkedIn, Dropbox and a now-defunct social question-and-answer company called Formspring in 2012. He was arrested in the Czech Republic in 2016 on a U.S. request transmitted by the Interpol international police organization and was extradited to the U.S. last week after lengthy proceedings.” Bloomberg reports, “A Russian citizen accused of hacking LinkedIn and Dropbox was supposed to have a bail hearing Wednesday before a U.S. judge, but plans went sideways after prosecutors said he tried to escape.”

NATO SECRETARY GENERAL ON RUSSIA’S BALTIC SEA MISSILE TESTS

Deutsche Welle reports, “NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg (above) said on Wednesday the alliance would watch Russia’s ongoing military drills in the Baltic Sea closely, but did not want to worsen relations with Moscow already at a low ebb.” Deutsche Welle notes, “The three days of tests starting on Wednesday forced NATO-member Latvia to partly shut down its commercial airspace.” Stoltenberg emphasized NATO did not want a new arms race, a new cold war, in direct counter-point to what some in Russia say.

SO RESPECTABLE

CNN reports, “The federal judge overseeing the criminal case against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort expressed exasperation Wednesday about his separate lawsuit challenging the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.” CNN adds, “Federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson grilled Manafort attorney Kevin Downing for 50 minutes in open court over whether Manafort had the ability to bring the civil lawsuit against the Justice Department. Previously, Manafort’s attorneys complained that Mueller exceeded his authority by opening cases against Manafort, because they involved business conducted years before he joined the Trump campaign in 2016.” Reuters adds, “‘I don’t really understand what is left of your case,’ U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson said to Kevin Downing, Manafort’s attorney, after peppering him with a lengthy series of questions.”

ARYAN PRINCESS IVANKA IS A SHITTY WOMEN’S ADVOCATE

People Magazine reports, “In a riveting passage from Cecile Richards’ new memoir, the Planned Parenthood chief says Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump were, during Donald Trump’s 2016 transition as president-elect, so eager to be recognized as shrewd political dealmakers that the soon-to-be first daughter and her husband made an offer that felt like a ‘bribe’: an increase in federal funding for Planned Parenthood in exchange for its agreement to stop providing abortions.” They are used to a world in which everyone is for sale and people can be sacrificed because no one has virtue except their own selfish material desires. According to People, “Kushner told her Planned Parenthood ‘had made a big mistake by becoming “political.”’” Oh my god. Who does princeling Jared think he is? People adds, “If Planned Parenthood wanted to keep our federal funding, we would have to stop providing abortions. He described his ideal outcome: a national headline reading ‘Planned Parenthood Discontinues Abortion Services.’” Richards writes in her new book, “if they could stop Planned Parenthood from providing abortions, it would confirm their reputation as savvy dealmakers. It was surreal, essentially being asked to barter away women’s rights for more money.” Luckily no such thing has happened and there have been no events of the sort that might confirm their ideal notion of themselves as something more than the human garbage they are.

THE BEST PEOPLE: ROB PORTER 2020

The Daily Mail reports, “Former Trump aide and accused wife-beater Rob Porter may have landed himself a new gig at the Trump campaign”. The Daily Mail adds, “Within days of being let go as staff secretary to President Trump, alleged wife abuser Porter was hired by Brad Parscale, the president’s 2020 campaign manager”. But this one comes with the outright denial, “However after DailyMail.com broke the story, Parscale claimed on Twitter after the that he did not hire Porter and believes he has never even met him,” which honestly does not mean much coming from this crowd. The Daily Mail call it, “a hush-hush favor to the president, who still feels some loyalty to Porter in spite of the allegations that he had abusive relationships with two ex-wives as well as a former girlfriend.”

KONSTANTIN KILIMNIK’S DC-BASED GOP CONSULTING JOINT VENTURE
The Daily Beast
reports, “As 2016 campaign season neared, a Russian national who special counsel Robert Mueller now believes was working with the country’s intelligence services founded a consulting firm in Washington, D.C. Begemot Ventures International was incorporated in February 2015, occupying an office on Constitution Avenue.” The Daily Beast adds, “Begemot had executives tied not just to an alleged Russian influence campaign, but also a controversial data firm that would later help elect President Donald Trump. The space that the firm continues to occupy also houses the offices of Sam Patten, a Republican lobbyist and foreign policy consultant who had previously worked to hone the firm Cambridge Analytica’s microtargeting operation during the 2014 midterm election cycle. They don’t just share a location either. Patten is listed as one of two Begemot executives in D.C. incorporation records. The other is Konstantin Kilimnik”. The Daily Beast recalls, “Kilimnik has a years-long professional relationship with former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort,” aka “indicted Paul” or “Ukrainian blood on his hands Paul”. The Daily Beast notes, “There is little public information about Begemot, whose name literally translates (from Russian) to hippopotamus but also may be a reference to a character in the Russian novel The Master and Margarita.”

DEPARTURES: RACIST FARABOOK POSTER RESIGNS FROM DOD GIG

CNN reports, “A political appointee at the Department of Defense has resigned after a CNN KFile inquiry about controversial postings he made on Facebook.” This is like the third one this reporter alone has exposed, leading to a withdrawal or resignation because this is what we have by way of vetting in Trumpistan. It is all very public and rather ugly. CNN adds, “Todd Johnson is a former Trump campaign state director in New Mexico who joined the Department of Defense in 2017 as an advance officer, a Pentagon employee with the sensitive task of providing logistical support related to the secretary’s events and appearances domestically and abroad. Johnson had a pay scale of GS-14, typically reserved for senior civil service positions.” CNN reviewed his social media and “Johnson posted birther conspiracies about then-President Barack Obama and shared a video that claimed Obama was the Antichrist.” Now watch how this trash reacts when caught being so racist: “After CNN initially reached out to the Pentagon for comment, Johnson made his Facebook account private. A spokesperson confirmed Johnson was still working at the Pentagon Tuesday morning, but in the afternoon, after CNN informed the Department of Defense that a story was forthcoming, a Pentagon spokesperson said Johnson had offered his resignation and that it was accepted.” But he did not start under Trump as is evidenced by the fact that, “Photos and videos posted online show Johnson has traveled extensively with Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis overseas and posed in photos with Trump and at the Pentagon along with Mattis and former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.” CNN notes, “Before taking the Pentagon job, Johnson regularly posted articles and content popular in mainstream conservative circles. But Johnson also shared conspiracy theories about Obama’s citizenship, an off-color joke about Obama dying in a plane crash and a clipping that compared people on entitlements to animals.” He seems nice if you are into racist hateful garbage.

RUSSIAN BELLICOSITY ON FULL DISPLAY IN INFILTRATED DC PUBLICATION

The National Interest, which we can consider fully infiltrated by “the rival,” as Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite put it in Tuesday’s White House press conference, has an interview with a saber rattling retired Russian general who really wants to scare the shit out of us but sprinkles too much covfefe around to succeed. His name is Evgeny Buzhinsky and he is a so-called retired lieutenant general from the Air Force and oh man is he scary! Buzhinsky tells the smokescreen the publication of the Center for the National Interest that hosted Trump’s first ever foreign policy speech two years ago this month that the size of the Russian economy is irrelevant, “In the case of war, the economy doesn’t matter. 5 percent, 2 percent, 3 percent, it doesn’t matter. Because if it ends in war, it will be a very very short war. Do you think that Russia will go to war with United States for months or years? Of course not.” Buzhinsky slams his sword down and adds, “I am sure that any military confrontation will end up with the use of nuclear weapons between the United States and Russia. I don’t believe that a nuclear confrontation can be controlled; this is an illusion on the part of the United States.” This motherfucker wants to kill our illusions!? Never! Hope never dies, bastard! We might, but hope no! Never!
