CNBC reports, “President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, heads to federal court in Washington Friday morning, facing the very real risk of being sent to jail that same day. Manafort faces arraignment on charges of witness tampering filed last week by special counsel Robert Mueller.” CNBC adds, “The judge in the case will also hear arguments by Mueller that Manafort’s $10 million bail should be revoked or modified because of that alleged tampering.” It would be a beautiful thing to see this creature go to jail and not walk free by afternoon. TRUMPISTAN WATCH is a bit skeptical given that no one is above the law except those of course who are and TRUMPISTAN WATCH has been conditioned by a lifetime observing Chicago politics and Eastern Europe to know justice belongs only to those who can’t afford to buy it, but we shall see. The likelihood Manafort starts singing to save his own hide would increase exponentially, because of course he does not want the same fate that he worked so hard to justify when it was Yulia Tymoshenko’s hide in Ukraine and not his own.

POLITICO reports, “The White House and the Kremlin are ‘exploring’ a possible meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a White House aide.” After all, the one thing that has really been missing from this whole coup and occupation is Putin touching down in Washington for a victory lap and addressing the people he now wishes to claim command over from the Rose Garden. In related news, TRUMPISTAN WATCH is “exploring” new ways to vomit all over everything. Some quisling named “Richard Hooker, a senior director for Europe and Russia on the National Security Council, told the Russian [state] news agency TASS Wednesday that the idea is in the works, but he offered no specifics.” POLITICO recalls, “More recently, Putin has explored the possibility of a meeting in the Austrian capital of Vienna,” and quisling Hooker told the mouthpiece of his and the fake Russian bullshit president’s masters in Moscow, “I am sure this is an option under consideration”. Hey Hooker, we’re not sure you will ever work in our country again after this so enjoy your ride on Bolton’s coattails while you can!

The Washington Post reports, “North Korean state television aired a 42-minute long documentary on Thursday that offered a different view of Kim Jong Un’s meeting with President Trump in Singapore. Notably, the documentary appears to have captured several moments that international news organizations missed — including one awkward moment when Trump was saluted by a North Korean military leader. The American president then salutes in return.” What a disgrace this shitbird is to the memory of those who served in the Korean War, the values of the former USA, and that belligerence about patriotism and not kneeling for the anthem to protest extrajudicial executions. The Washington Post adds, “KCTV did capture the salute, which had not been noted in most international coverage. When meeting No Kwang Chol, North Korea’s minister for the People’s Armed Forces and a top military leader, Trump initially tries to shake his hand. No pulls his hand back and then salutes the president. Trump then responds with his own salute in return, before the two men shake hands as Kim smiles in the background. Presidents aren’t required to return salutes to military personnel, even American soldiers.” So much #winning! The best people. A very good brain. Good people, on both sides! Have fun with this Democratic candidates in the midterms – urge you all to juxtapose this with quotes in support of Trump from your GOP death cult opponents!

BuzzFeed News reports, “President Donald Trump told G7 leaders that Crimea is Russian because everyone who lives there speaks Russian”. No everybody there speaks Russian because Ukraine is a bilingual country. According to one of the diplomats in attendance, “Trump made the remarks over dinner last Friday during a discussion on foreign affairs at the G7 summit in Quebec, Canada”. How cute, they should send him to the kids’ table next time to eat with the other toddlers or perhaps out to the barn to feed at the trough with the animals he more closely resembles. BuzzFeed recalls, “Russia invaded and then annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, leading to widespread international condemnation and sanctions. The move also directly led to Russia being kicked out of the then-G8. Russian President Vladimir Putin defended Russia’s intervention in Crimea at the time, saying that he had the right to protect Russian citizens and Russian speakers in Ukraine.” Russian protection is worthless, as it only leads to slaughter. BuzzFeed adds, “During the dinner, Trump also seemed to question why the G7 leaders were siding with Ukraine. The president told leaders that ‘Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world,’ the source said,” seemingly ignoring his own regime of kleptocrats and mafiosi and the regime of his primary backers in the Russian mafia state comprised of the same stinking, rotting shit. So by this logic, Chicago is part of Poland and Mexico as everyone there speaks Polish and Spanish.

The Washington Post reports, “New York’s attorney general filed suit against President Trump and his three eldest children Thursday, alleging ‘persistently illegal conduct’ at the president’s personal charity and saying that Trump had repeatedly misused the nonprofit organization to pay off his businesses’ creditors, to decorate one of his golf clubs and to stage a multimillion-dollar giveaway at 2016 campaign events.” Fake Russian bullshit president Trump not charitable?! Shock! The Washington Post adds, “In the suit, Attorney General Barbara Underwood asked a state judge to dissolve the Donald J. Trump Foundation. She asked that its remaining $1 million in assets be distributed to other charities and that Trump be forced to pay at least $2.8 million in restitution and penalties. Underwood also asked that Trump be banned from leading any other New York nonprofit organization for 10 years — seeking to apply a penalty usually reserved for the operators of small-time charity frauds to the president of the United States.” Well he is a small-time fraud operating on a grand scale now thanks to foreign infiltration, copious amounts of money from Russians and domestic quislings, and a significant amount of our own stupid. The Washington Post notes, “The claims in the New York attorney general’s suit could trigger tax penalties by the IRS, according to tax-law experts, who noted that the Justice Department can also bring criminal charges when prosecutors believe tax-law violations are ‘willful.’” Having never seen his tax returns, the public can bank on this not being his only “willful” violation of tax law, in part because we have never seen the tax returns. The Washington Post adds, “Without any outside supervision, Underwood said, the foundation came to serve the spending needs of Trump — and then, in 2016, the needs of his presidential campaign.” The board had not met since 1999 and the official treasurer had no clue he was formally listed as such, suggesting like all things Trump this was just another slush fund for personal use with no real societal purpose. But hey, grifters gonna grift.

ABC News reports, “New York State’s highest court on Thursday rejected an appeal from President Trump in a defamation case brought by Summer Zervos, a former contestant on ‘The Apprentice’ who alleges that Trump groped and kissed her without her consent in 2007. This is the third time Trump’s attempt to halt discovery in the case and a possible deposition of the president has failed.” ABC News notes, “The court ruled that Trump’s appeal is premature because there has not been a final determination of his motions in the lower courts.” Why is the fake Russian bullshit president who claims he has always been a gentleman and never fucked a hooker in his whole life be afraid of discovery? If you love the smell of bullshit, maybe that one passes your sniff test.

NBC News reports, “The Justice Department’s watchdog said Thursday that former FBI Director James Comey breached protocol and was ‘insubordinate’ but was not politically motivated in his handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe.” NBC News adds, “The long-awaited report from DOJ’s inspector general also revealed that Comey used a personal email account to conduct unclassified FBI business, which was ‘inconsistent’ with policy.” Yes, you read that right. As Hillary Clinton tweeted, ‘But my emails.’” But of course, the report “disclosed text messages from two FBI employees that Republicans and the White House are sure to seize on as evidence of FBI bias against President Donald Trump,” NBC News adds, noting, “‘[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!’ FBI lawyer, Lisa Page, wrote to FBI agent Peter Strzok,” with whom she was having an affair. Evidently some in law enforcement imagine they are Clark Kent, as Strzok replied, “No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it”. LOL, mere mortals and the total stupidity of a nation win! Little boy superhero fantasies lose, again! And because we have all learned nothing from this debacle of foreign occupation and constant moral injury, collective brutality leading the nation towards fascism, Comey as a fairly handsome white male is still permitted to grandstand with the mantle of illustrious institutions to support him as “Comey, who was fired by Trump in May 2017, reacted to the IG’s report in a tweet and an op-ed for The New York Times.” POLITICO adds, “In a response appended to the report, the FBI — led by Trump appointee Christopher Wray — said it accepted the conclusion that political bias played no role in the decision-making by the FBI in the Clinton investigation, despite the finding of multiple missteps. And Comey said he welcomed the report, regardless of the pounding he took in it.” And because the truth will not vindicate Trump, POLITICO notes, “In recent days, Trump and his allies in Congress have raised questions about [Inspector General Michael] Horowitz himself, seemingly girding themselves for findings that fall short of their claims of widespread anti-Trump bias.” Remember: if it is not Deep State, it is still all the suppressive people in the Deep State.

The Washington Post reports, “The Republican National Committee chairman Ronna Romney McDaniel added a creepy, totalitarian note. ‘Complacency is our enemy. Anyone that does not embrace the @realDonaldTrump agenda of making America great again will be making a mistake,’ she tweeted. Pyongyang or Moscow or Beijing propagandists would be proud. You must embrace our leader, or else!” TRUMPISTAN WATCH, proud enemy, for make glorious! But as The Washington Post notes, “First, sticking by Trump is no guarantee of success either. After all, candidates backed by Trump (i.e., Luther Strange, Roy Moore, Rick Saccone, Ed Gillespie) also lost. Republicans are obsessed with the instances in which a Trump heretic lost, but they don’t consider whether those candidates lost for reasons unrelated to Trump.” It is not a death cult, ok? Those still in the cult will insist; it is The Path of True Benevolence!

Foreign Policy reports, “A senior advisor to the State Department appointed just two months ago has been quietly vetting career diplomats and American employees of international institutions to determine whether they are loyal to President Donald Trump and his political agenda”. So let’s name this person: “Mari Stull, a former food and beverage lobbyist-turned-wine blogger under the name ‘Vino Vixen,’ has reviewed the social media pages of State Department staffers for signs of ideological deviation. She has researched the names of government officials to determine whether they signed off on Obama-era policies — though signing off does not mean officials personally endorsed them but merely cleared them through the bureaucratic chain. And she has inquired about Americans employed by international agencies, including the World Health Organization and the United Nations, asking their colleagues when they were hired and by whom”. Foreign Policy notes, “Stull was named in April as a senior advisor to the State Department’s Bureau of International Organization Affairs”. Foreign Policy adds, “Her probing, along with a highly secretive management style, has become so uncomfortable that at least three senior officials are poised to leave the bureau,” and “Officials there have warned some Americans employed by the U.N. to sidestep traditional meet-and-greet sessions with the department’s upper management to avoid drawing attention to themselves.” Quisling “Stull seems to have the support of her boss, Kevin Moley, who was appointed by the White House in January to head the bureau with the title of assistant secretary of state for international organizational affairs.” Foreign Policy notes, “Stull cheered his appointment on Twitter at the time, proclaiming the ‘Global swamp will be drained.’” Remember, the swamp is being drained to hasten the search for bottom feeders. Foreign Policy adds, “Three deputy assistant secretaries of state in the bureau, Molly Phee, the bureau’s principal deputy, Erin Barclay, and Nerissa Cook, are said to be on the way out — though some may simply move to other bureaus at State.” Foreign Policy notes, “Stull also requires that every directive issued by the office be reviewed by her first, causing a bureaucratic bottleneck and even stalling issues that appear to be priorities of the White House,” and “she has stripped all references to ‘international law’ and ‘international order’ from action items and memos coming from the international organization bureau.”

The Hill reports, “A researcher at the center of the Cambridge Analytica data scandal will testify before a Senate panel next week. Aleksandr Kogan, a former Cambridge Analytica contractor who is said to have harvested data on 87 million Facebook users ultimately obtained by the British research firm, is set to appear before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee’s subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, Insurance and Data Security on Tuesday.” The Hill adds, “The hearing will focus the on data privacy risks that Cambridge Analytica’s relationship with Facebook and other data sharing partnerships with social media companies can pose to consumers.” The Hill notes, “Kogan had spoken in front of British lawmakers about the data scandal in April. The researcher has defended his actions in the way of the scandal and has considered suing Facebook for defamation.”

Agence France Presse
reports, “Large military drills between the United States and South Korea have been ‘suspended indefinitely,’” citing a senior U.S. official. Agence France Presse adds, “President Donald Trump on Tuesday said the U.S. will halt ‘war games’ with its security ally Seoul, but he did not make clear when the freeze on the ‘provocative’ exercises would kick in.”   Agence France Presse notes, “The United States has about 28,500 troops based in South Korea and they routinely train with their local counterparts. Ulchi Freedom Guardian, which ordinarily starts in August, is a two-week drill based on a computerized command-and-control exercise. Pyongyang considers it a highly provocative rehearsal for invasion.” Agence France Presse closes, “The Pentagon did not immediately comment.” Reuters adds, “North and South Korea failed to reach any concrete agreement during their military talks on Thursday, as two-star generals from both sides met just two days after U.S. President Donald Trump floated his plan to halt joint exercises with South Korea.”

The New York Review of Books reports, “In such a time, we might be tempted to try to learn something from earlier turns toward authoritarianism, particularly the triumphant rise of the Nazis in Germany in the 1930s. The problem is that Nazism was so horrifying and so barbaric that for many people in nations where authoritarianism is now achieving a foothold, it is hard to see parallels between Hitler’s regime and their own governments. Many accounts of the Nazi period depict a barely imaginable series of events, a nation gone mad. That makes it easy to take comfort in the thought that it can’t happen again.” Ha! Like maybe six months ago. It can happen here and it is! Let TRUMPISTAN WATCH repeat: it is happening here! For those of you with a pulse still who are not totally dead inside yet, The New York Review of Books notes, “some depictions of Hitler’s rise are more intimate and personal. They focus less on well-known leaders, significant events, state propaganda, murders, and war, and more on the details of individual lives. They help explain how people can not only participate in dreadful things but also stand by quietly and live fairly ordinary days in the midst of them.” So this is everyone around you now who is telling you it’s your choice to be bothered by the news, or you must have a life or is in total denial, not those who have collapsed in despair – of whom, surprise! There aren’t many, they have all decided for the most part to ignore what is happening right in front of all of us. So if you are looking to read up, “Milton Mayer’s 1955 classic They Thought They Were Free, recently republished with an afterword by the Cambridge historian Richard J. Evans, was one of the first accounts of ordinary life under Nazism. Dotted with humor and written with an improbably light touch, it provides a jarring contrast with Sebastian Haffner’s devastating, unfinished 1939 memoir, Defying Hitler, which gives a moment-by-moment, you-are-there feeling to Hitler’s rise.” TRUMPISTAN WATCH hopes to see itself in the vain of the latter because the idea of the self-delusion of the former is eschewed by anyone hoping to live one’s days out in a no bullshit zone.

The Washington Post reports, “Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III may have referred an investigation of Michael Cohen’s business practices to federal prosecutors in New York two months ago, but Mueller is not done with President Trump’s personal lawyer yet.” So it goes that Michael Cohen’s loyalty to Trump will be tested, especially now that his lawyers have left for the exits. But as we know, only the Great Lunatic can demand loyalty! The Washington Post notes, “Trump tweeted in April that ‘most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble, even if it means lying or making up stories.’” So it goes, “The apparent plan is to discredit Cohen by arguing that whatever compromising information he might share about Trump is a lie, concocted to please Mueller’s band of witch hunters and save his own skin.” The Washington Post adds, “Alan Dershowitz, a retired Harvard Law School professor who defends Trump on television and serves as an informal adviser, has sought to cast doubt on the reliability of Cohen’s potential testimony.” Other media allies, such as “the National Enquirer took aim at Cohen’s credibility by publishing a cover headline that read, ‘TRUMP FIXER’S SECRETS & LIES!’” Trump will no doubt claim he told Cohen everything but that was before he knew Cohen was part of the Deep State, but that nonetheless, Trump’s impeccable judgment withstands the test of another moral failure or series of them because he is the true victim, never the true victor.

CBS News
reports, “President Trump’s longtime personal attorney, has filed a request for a restraining order from a Southern California court against Michael Avenatti, the attorney for adult film actress Stormy Daniels. The order would require Avenatti, who has made frequent media appearances this year since Daniels’ story became public, to stop speaking to the press.” Hilariously, the guy who paid off women, threatened journalists, “Cohen, who is under criminal investigation, alleges Avenatti’s ‘publicity tour’ is denying Cohen the ‘right to a fair trial.’ In May, Avenatti withdrew his petition to participate in the Cohen’s case after Judge Kimba Wood told him he’d have to stop his ‘publicity tour.’” Guess Cohen is not so tough any more – sad! In the good ol’ days he could just pick up the phone and make a bunch of threats. Now he’s stuck, alone and isolated and squirming.

The Washington Post reports, “Heated confrontations erupted inside a Senate Republican luncheon on Wednesday as lawmakers traded unusually personal and sometimes profane attacks on one another.” Delicious! The Washington Post adds, “At the center of the ruckus was Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.), who argued separately with Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), according to a person who attended the lunch and another who was briefed on it. Graham, a traditional Republican hawk, took issue with an amendment Lee was pushing to the annual defense bill. His measure was designed to protect Americans from detention without charge or trial.” Nothing should impede the ability to lock up suppressive persons, undesirables, and all others who refuse to acknowledge the all-knowing inherent wisdom of the benevolence of the death cult agenda spearheaded by the Great Lunatic! Graham, perhaps in a panic-induced trance from all the Kool Aid he has been made to swallow or whatever Russians may have on him as his email too was hacked, “and Corker got into an expletive-laced exchange, the people familiar with the lunch discussion said,” according to The Washington Post, which acknowledges Graham pretty much labeled Corker a suppressive as “Graham pointed out that Corker was on his way out, a reference to his coming retirement from the Senate, and he argued that Corker was not helping the Republican Party.” Corker has labeled the death cult GOP as merely “cultish,” and Graham as a member of the death cult feels obliged to hide the fact that he is in a death cult. In the context of death cults, this is vaguely normal-ish, for a death cult.

The Washington Post reports, “When British subjects in the original 13 colonies started rolling up their sleeves for the fight for independence in the 1770s, loyalist preachers hammered on a particular Bible verse from their pulpits. The words were meant to ice down the heated dissent and remind the upstarts to heed their British masters. When southern preachers blasted northern abolitionists for defying the Fugitive Slave Act in the decade leading to the Civil War, they cited the same lines.” The Washington Post continues, “And on Thursday, when Attorney General Jeff Sessions stood at a podium before a room in Fort Wayne, Ind. to defend the Trump administration’s practice of separating children from their immigrant parents, he reached for the same quote from the 13th chapter of the New Testament book of Romans.” Ah yes, Rome! Whatever happened to it? The Washington Post adds, “‘I would cite you to the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13, to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained the government for his purposes,’ the nation’s top law enforcement official said”. What could be more anti-American than the words obey the government at all costs? Just ask the gun nuts what they think of the government telling them what to do or think. Or, perhaps, look to the current cabal of quislings that screams Deep State whenever the government displeases them. The Washington Post notes, “The passage –‘Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.’ — has been read as an unequivocal order for Christians to obey state authority, a reading that not only justified southern slavery but authoritarian rule in Nazi Germany and South African apartheid.” This will no doubt be on the wall when TRUMPISTAN WATCH finally lives its American dream of opening a West Texas facility where you can watch pornography, shoot guns and do drugs — all in one place! – along with picnic facilities for the family and a courtyard where you can take the kids and chase after whatever minority group the law permits at the time. #winning!

CNBC reports, “Steve Bannon plans to unleash an advertising campaign touting President Donald Trump’s achievements to help the GOP ahead of the 2018 midterm elections. It could also be seen as a bid by the former White House chief strategist to revive his own political fortunes.” Go away forever. CNBC adds, “Since May, Bannon has been paying his surrogates to produce political ads in cities across the United States,” noting, “The campaign will tout the Trump administration’s accomplishments that dovetail with Bannon’s own America First views, including passing a comprehensive tax reform bill and working with Congress to curtail the Dodd-Frank Act’s impact on community banks”. CNBC notes, “The ads will argue that Trump needs Republicans to control the House and the Senate in order for him to continue to pursue his agenda, the people added. The ads will not endorse specific candidates but rather the need for Republicans to maintain control of both chambers. The ads haven’t been released, and it’s unclear when voters will get a taste of Bannon’s messaging. It also hasn’t been determined whether the ads will be released on TV, digitally or on radio. However, the plan is to run them across the country”. CNBC adds, “It is unclear where Bannon is getting the financing,” but notes the quislings among us as, “He has had a long history of working in media, politics and investment banking with wealthy individuals any of whom could be the source of funding,” and you know all the foreign dirty Russian money that seems to encircle many of these folks in Bannon’s so-called “long history” of like the last three to five years, a lifetime in Washington.

The Guardian reports, “A Russian MP has encouraged Russians to have sex with visiting foreign football fans, a day after Russian authorities were embarrassed when one of his fellow parliamentarians warned against World Cup sexual liaisons.” Obviously this is the government’s business when you live in a shithole and also when the government has been known to weaponize sex through the use of honeypots and recordings of intimate acts. The Guardian adds, “‘The more love stories we have connected to the World Cup, the more people from different countries fall in love, the more children are born, the better,’ MP Mikhail Degtyaryov said on Thursday, [Russian state-run] Tass reported. ‘Many years from now these children will remember that their parents’ love story began during the World Cup in Russia in 2018.’” Of course this burst of good will and support for love that defies borders is not coming out of nowhere from an official in the corrupt mafia state as it is to cover for the embarrassment that is, “MP Tamara Pletnyova, head of the Russian parliament’s committee for families, women and children,” who, “said on Wednesday that Russians should avoid sexual relations with foreigners, particularly if they were ‘of a different race’. ‘We must give birth to our own children. These [mixed-race] kids suffer and have suffered since Soviet times,’ Pletnyova told Govorit Moskva radio station.” The Guardian notes, “She was responding to a question about children born after relationships between Russian women and men from Africa, Latin America or Asia formed during the Moscow Olympics in 1980.” Well, know that if no one ever fucked anyone who was not just like them, TRUMPISTAN WATCH would not be here, so be grateful y’all!

reports, “A gay rights campaigner has been detained in Moscow after staging a one-man protest near the Kremlin.” Can you imagine? What are they afraid of? That the Russian people might wake up to the fact that their country is a shithole, they have been robbed and also they have been degraded to no end by a corrupt mafia state? ITV adds, “Peter Tatchell was apprehended near the statue of Marshal Zhukov, in a public square which was busy with football fans, while holding a poster attacking Russian president Vladimir Putin. It read: ‘Putin fails to act against Chechnya torture of gay people.’” This is a threat to order in their country! How fucking weak are they? ITV notes, “Several police officers moved in to detain him and told him he had broken the law in Russia. He was allowed to walk to a nearby police car where he was questioned before being transferred to another car and being driven away to a police station,” whereas ere he Russian they would have pulled his limbs in every direction. NBC News adds, “Gay rights activist Peter Tatchell was released by Russian police on Thursday after being detained near Moscow’s Red Square for protesting against the country’s reported abuse of LGBTQ people.” Thank you Peter Tatchell for your service to humanity! Peter Tatchell showed us the real Russia but the Russian authorities did not allow him to have more than a taste of the real Russia because that would embarrass their shithole nation in the eyes of the world.

The Guardian reports, “Mike Pence  is going to a drag show on Friday. It’s not listed on his official itinerary for the trip, but when he arrives in Columbus, Ohio, he’ll be greeted by drag queens, soundsystems and hundreds of LGBT revellers.” The Guardian adds, “The delightfully festive crossover comes as the US vice-president is set to speak at an event being held by at the controversial pro-Trump non-profit America First Policies, just as Pride weekend in Columbus kicks off. To commemorate the visit, the LGBT community has decided to throw him a party outside the downtown hotel where he’s speaking. In tow will be a dozen drag performers, two DJs, and speeches from politicians like Rick Neal, the gay Democratic candidate for Ohio’s 15th US congressional district.” The Guardian notes, “It’s a tactic used by other groups, too. After being caught on video delivering a racist rant in a New York cafe last month, lawyer Aaron Schlossberg was met with revelers outside his apartment partying in the streets and singing along to a mariachi band. A number of high-profile electronic artists and DJs are planning a marathon dance party in the UK to protest against Donald Trump’s first visit. In that spirit, parties like this are an ironic torment. Don’t like Mexicans? Good luck sleeping through this mariachi band, pal. Don’t like gay people? Watch us werk.” Meet the real American people! Also note how much stronger America is that it can, like, deal, compared to how Peter Tatchell was treated outside the Kremlin. Or, as The Guardian concludes, “In other words, if you can’t get Mike Pence to go to the drag show, you have to bring the drag show to him.”
