TRUMP SAYS PUTIN IS “FINE” BUT THE TWERPY LITTLE FELLER IS NOT FINE

The New York Times reports the illegitimate and fake “President Trump lobbed personal and derogatory attacks at two Democratic senators, mocked the #MeToo movement and vouched for President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia on Thursday during a freewheeling, raucous rally ostensibly intended to solidify support for Montana’s Republican Senate candidate.” The New York Times notes, “he slammed critics who suggested that he was not prepared for his coming meeting with Mr. Putin in Finland, dismissing Mr. Putin’s background as a head of Russia’s intelligence service. ‘Putin’s fine,’ Mr. Trump said. ‘He’s fine. We’re all fine. We’re people. Will I be prepared? Totally prepared. I’ve been preparing for this stuff my whole life.’” Unfortunately, none of that is actually true. As for NATO, the illegitimate president continued in his Putinist streak of believing it is a protection racket not of actual benefit to Western security because Trump only cares about Trump’s security and indulgences. The New York Times adds the illegitimate president said, “We’re the schmucks that are paying for the whole thing,” adding “I’ll see NATO and I’ll tell NATO, ‘You’ve got to start paying your bills.’” Now the only thing there that is true is that they are the shmucks, but if we are to go with Yiddishisms lets use a real insult now and go with paskudnyak, or filth, basically the worst insult there is in Yiddish. It is also odd to criticize NATO in this way when no one in the Trump family can be bothered to pay their bills. The illegitimate president taught his children how to shirk on bills, avoid payment and has bilked so many out of so much. And to put a cherry on his crassness because every death cult leader must burn through history in order to instill a new mythical past and future, The New York Times notes, “Mr. Trump also disparaged Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, and President George Bush, who are both in poor health: Mr. McCain for his vote against the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and Mr. Bush for his campaign slogan ‘a thousand points of light,’ one that Mr. Trump said he ‘never quite got.’” Well anything but darkness and slaughter and Nazism is a foreign language to this fool, so that should not surprise anyone. And in a final nod to the thousand-year psyche he hopes to build, The New York Times concludes quoting the illegitimate president, “We will never, ever surrender. We will never, ever quit. We go forward to victory.” Except they will, it is not so much a question of anything but when and how because no lie lasts forever.

* US AMBASSADOR TO RUSSIA SAYS TRUMP TO RAISE MEDDLING WITH PUTIN

From the department of things you will have to see and hear to believe, Bloomberg reports, “President Donald Trump is prepared to discuss Russian election meddling and other ‘malign’ activities when he meets one-on-one with President Vladimir Putin later this month, the U.S. ambassador to Russia said. Trump will enter the July 16 meeting in Helsinki with ‘eyes wide open’ to assess whether Putin wants to improve relations, Ambassador Jon Huntsman said Thursday on a conference call with reporters.”

MICHAEL COHEN HIRES LANNY DAVIS, ALSO REPRESENTS DMYTRO FIRTASH

Business Insider reports, “President Donald Trump’s longtime lawyer Michael Cohen just hired Lanny Davis, who served as former President Bill Clinton’s special counsel as he was under investigation, as the latest addition to his revamped legal team. Davis’s hire was reported by The New York Times on Thursday. Times reporter Maggie Haberman tweeted that Davis told her he was retained by Cohen as he prepares for a legal and public relations ‘onslaught.’” The Daily Beast adds, “The attorney is also co-counsel for Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash, an ally of former Paul Manafort client Viktor Yanukovych. Manafort, who has been indicted for a host of crimes by special counsel Robert Mueller, once reached out to Firtash about a real estate deal in New York. Firtash is under indictment in the Northern District of Illinois, and has been fighting extradition from his residence in Austria. Besides Davis, he is represented by former U.S. Attorney Dan Webb and former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.”

* MUELLER ADDS MORE LAWYERS TO ADDRESS LAYERS OF CORRUPTION

Bloomberg reports, “Special Counsel Robert Mueller is tapping additional Justice Department resources for help with new legal battles as his year-old investigation of Russian interference with the 2016 election continues to expand.” Bloomberg adds, “As Mueller pursues his probe, he’s making more use of career prosecutors from the offices of U.S. attorneys and from Justice Department headquarters, as well as FBI agents — a sign that he may be laying the groundwork to hand off parts of his investigation eventually, several current and former U.S. officials said. Mueller and his team of 17 federal prosecutors are coping with a higher-than-expected volume of court challenges that has added complexity in recent months, but there’s no political appetite at this time to increase the size of his staff, the officials said.”

* DEPARTURES: SCOTT PRUIT, EPA ADMINISTRATOR WITH NO ETHICS

The AP reports, “President Donald Trump says he has accepted the resignation of scandal-plagued Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt. Pruitt had become a constant source of embarrassment to a president who had entered Washington promising to ‘Drain the Swamp.’” The AP notes, “Pruitt has faced an array of ethical questions about his travel spending, security costs, dealings with industry lobbyists and misuse of government resources.” Pruitt most successfully embodied the decadence and stunning lack of ethics embodied by those who head ministries in the post-Soviet world. As POLITICO details, “Pruitt’s use of agency employees to obtain housing, lotion, used mattresses, dinner with a Vatican cardinal and a job for his wife.” He had his security detail search for some fancy lotion he enjoyed at the Ritz Carlton hotel and even had his twenty something underlings place his hotel bills on their personal credit cards, in addition to keeping two calendars and sending security to fetch his dry cleaning. Who will replace him both at the EPA and in the annals of decadent corruption?

HIRED: FOX NEWS SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLEAN UP MAN BILL SHINE

POLITICO reports, President Donald Trump has hired former Fox News executive Bill Shine to lead his communications team, the White House announced on Thursday.” POLITICO adds, “‘He brings over two decades of television programming, communications, and management experience to the role,’ the White House said in a statement announcing the hire. Shine’s official title will be assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for communications.” POLITICO recalls, “Shine was forced out of Fox News in May 2017 over his handling of sexual harassment claims at the company.” POLITICO notes, “The addition of Shine further solidifies Fox News’ relationship with the White House and also brings into the West Wing a target of the ‘Me Too’ movement who could draw further attention to accusations by women against Trump,” which is probably the point as well because in the eyes of the death cult you are not a real man unless you abuse women. The Me Too thing has gone rather quiet as of late, seemingly stopping short of toppling those who are truly powerful in politics and most deserving, which is a curious thing.

ALL SANE AMERICANS MUST OPPOSE BRIAN BENCZKOWSKI’S NOMINATION

The Committee to Investigate Russia reports, “Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) used Twitter Thursday night to draw attention to an upcoming confirmation vote that could have serious repercussions for the Russia investigation.” In a series of tweets, Senator Durbin wrote, “Remember Brian Benczkowski? He represented Russia’s Alfa Bank and was a top staffer to then-Senator Sessions. Senate Republicans plan to vote next week to confirm him to head the DOJ Criminal Division. Heading the DOJ Criminal Division is a critically important job. This person will supervise over 600 federal prosecutors handling thousands of cases and investigations, and will oversee sensitive matters such as the criminal investigation of Michael Cohen. Benczkowski has no prosecutorial experience. He showed poor judgment by choosing to represent Alfa Bank while he was seeking a DOJ job despite reports that Alfa was under criminal investigation. And he won’t commit to recuse himself from Russia-related matters if confirmed. Why does President Trump want Brian Benczkowski for this important job? Why not find an attorney who has actual prosecutorial experience and who is free and clear from Russian connections? And we still don’t know the full story behind Alfa Bank and what they did in 2016.” Durbin concludes, “Watch this vote next week. Republicans will try to confirm Benczkowski while attention is focused on SCOTUS. This could be a pivotal moment in the Russia investigation.” No one lose focus now.

DARKNESS AT NUNES, INTERFERENCE SLUT

The Washington Examiner reports, “House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., sent another letter Thursday — his third in a week — to two fellow GOP chairmen, referring to them 15 people connected to the Russia investigation for testimony in an ‘open setting.’” The Washington Examiner adds, “Many of the individuals on the list, sent to House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., are tied to Hillary Clinton and the infamous Trump dossier, which contains compromising, yet unverified claims about President Trump’s ties to Russia. Compiled in 2016, the research effort was conducted by ex-British spy Christopher Steele and was funded in part by Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee.” The Washington Examiner notes, “Glenn Simpson and Thomas Catan, co-founders of Fusion GPS, the opposition research company that commissioned Steele, are included on the list. Also mentioned is Nellie Ohr, wife of Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, whom Republicans in the House Intelligence Committee alleged in a February memo ‘was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research on Trump.’ Ohr, who according to the GOP memo delivered his wife’s research to the FBI, was demoted from his role as associate deputy attorney general late last year after it was discovered he had secret meetings with Simpson and Steele. The Washington Examiner adds, “Sidney Blumenthal, a Clinton ally, also was mentioned in Nunes’ letter,” as is “Mark Elias, a lawyer who represented the Clinton campaign and the DNC,” and “Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook, whose name is misspelled as ‘Robbie Mook’ in the letter.”

NEW RUSSIAN MERCENARY GROUP “PATRIOT” REPORTED IN SYRIA

Meduza reports, “A new Russian mercenary group is reportedly active in Syria. According to the independent television station Dozhd, the new private military group is called ‘Patriot,’ and it apparently has linked to the Russian Defense Ministry. Sources told Dozhd that several of the combatants in Patriot are actually still listed as active Russian military personnel.”

* EU OFFICIALLY EXTENDS RUSSIA SANCTIONS THROUGH JANUARY 2019

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, “The European Union has officially extended until January 31, 2019, the economic sanctions first placed on Russia after its 2014 annexation of Crimea and its backing of separatists in eastern Ukraine. The extension was finalized on July 5 and comes after EU leaders unanimously agreed to prolong the measures during the bloc’s summit in Brussels on June 29. The measures primarily hit Russia’s banking and energy sectors.”

* LATVIA DETAINS RUSSIAN STATE-RUN SPUTNIK EDITOR

Russian state-run Sputnik reports, “According to Sputnik Latvia Editor-In-Chief Valentins Rozencovs, he was detained on Wednesday in Riga and 12 hours later released by the police.” Russian state-run Sputnik adds, “Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova, when addressing the issue, stated it was a part of Latvian policies, aimed against Russian media in the country.”

* POLITICO reports, “Special counsel Robert Mueller’s prosecutors are urging a federal appeals court to reject former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s bid to be released on bail as he prepares for two criminal trials, including one set to begin later this month.” POLITICO adds, “In a filing Thursday, Mueller’s team urged the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit not to disturb a lower court’s order last month jailing Manafort over charges that he tampered with witnesses related to the cases against him.” Poor Manafort, POLITICO notes, “A spokesman for Manafort declined to comment, but Manafort’s attorneys have complained in court filings that he’s being held in solitary confinement and that the distance from Washington is complicating trial preparation.” Sad!

HUNDREDS MORE MIGRANT KIDS SEPARATED THAN PREVIOUSLY KNOWN

POLITICO reports, “HHS Secretary Alex Azar on Thursday acknowledged the Trump administration may have separated hundreds more migrant children from their parents than previously estimated as lawmakers from both parties called for greater scrutiny of the border policy. ‘Somewhere less than 3,000 [children] is the maximum,’ Azar told reporters on a conference call, adding that about 100 children are under age 5. ‘We are erring on the side of inclusion until we can rule any connection out.’” What “erring on the side of inclusion”? Do these people listen to themselves speak and ever note how Orwellian their speech has become? POLITICO adds, “Azar also said the agency hasn’t yet reunited children with parents who are in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody — despite a court order that gave them just days to do so.” POLITICO notes, “HHS is using DNA testing ‘to confirm parentage quickly and accurately’ given the looming court order, Azar said. While immigration advocates have warned that using the technology would put the migrants’ private information at risk, the DNA tests are necessary to safeguard the children, said Jonathan White, deputy director for children’s programs at HHS’ Office of Refugee Resettlement.” Of note, Azar “also criticized ‘artificial deadlines created by the courts,’ which he said may force HHS to cut corners on vetting how migrant children should be reunited with families.” By labeling the deadlines “artificial” does this mean HHS is granting itself the right not to comply on time? And what corners are being cut? They created this nightmare of state terror; remember no court ordered that. POLITICO adds, “A federal judge ruled last week that the Trump administration had until July 10 to reunite migrant children under age 5 with their parents, and until July 26 to reunite the rest. However, HHS has struggled with implementing the order, with staffers at the Office of Refugee Resettlement saying that they have received no instructions on how to proceed.” The best people – remember that? Perhaps that was just a reference to how (inappropriately) they see themselves in light of their own words and deeds?

THE TRUMP FAMILY PROFITING IS ONLY AS LIMITED AS THEIR CORRUPTION

The Washington Post reports, “As the Trump administration initiates a possible trade war with China, the president’s businesses continue to benefit from partnerships involving the Chinese government, via state-backed companies and investors.” No surprises here, like the profiting the hypocrisy is only defined by the perimeters of the Trump family’s corruption, which is seemingly limited only by their own abilities to invent and profit from personal corruption. The Washington Post notes, “Chinese government-backed firms are slated to work on parts of two large developments — in Dubai and Indonesia — that will include Trump-branded properties. The Trumps are the landlord to one of China’s top state-owned banks, which has occupied the 20th floor of Trump Tower in Manhattan since 2008. The bank’s lease is worth close to $2 million annually, according to industry estimates and a bank filing. And despite the Trump administration’s focus on American manufacturing, assembly-line workers in China still produce blouses, shoes and handbags for the clothing line created by Trump’s daughter Ivanka, a White House adviser.”

COHEN-TIED RUSSIA OLIGARCH VIKTOR VEKSELBERG’S DEEP US TIES

The AP reports, “Working closely with Andrew Intrater, an American cousin who heads the New York investment management firm Columbus Nova, [Viktor] Vekselberg backed a $1.6 million lobbying campaign to aid Russian interests in Washington. The cousin served as CEO of a Vekselberg company on that project, and the two men have collaborated on numerous other investments involving Vekselberg’s extensive holdings.” The AP recalls, “In early 2017, shortly before Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration, Intrater’s investment firm hired Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, as a consultant.” The AP notes, “legal and securities filings shows that the cousins sometimes collaborated in a more deeply entwined business relationship than was previously known.” The AP adds, “All Vekselberg assets in the U.S. are frozen and U.S. companies forbidden from doing business with him and his entities. The deadline to sever those relationships was June 4, but talks between Columbus Nova and the government are continuing”. Vekselberg “wields an estimated $13 billion fortune that supports Silicon Valley startups, programs at a California state park, a Western-themed resort amid the Joshua trees near Scottsdale, Arizona — and a loan to a Baptist church in Savannah, Georgia,” and “Vekselberg also has cemented tech deals using a Kremlin-funded foundation — raising national security concerns”. The AP notes, “some experts familiar with Vekselberg’s financial holdings wonder if the government is adequately tracking his U.S. assets, let alone the companies or foundations managing his money under other names.” The AP adds, “In June 2010, Vekselberg traveled to Silicon Valley with then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to try to gain a foothold for the Skolkovo Foundation. He signed a deal with Cisco CEO John Chambers for Cisco to invest $1 billion over 10 years in Skolkovo projects and met with Russian expatriates who urged him to set up a Skolkovo office nearby.” The AP notes, “Vekselberg also has ties to two other foundations operating in the U.S. The Link of Times Foundation USA Inc. did not respond to voicemails or emails seeking comment, and the administrator of the Mariinsky Foundation of America Inc. said Vekselberg was removed from the board of directors last year. The Skolkovo Foundation’s activities have not been disrupted by U.S. sanctions”.

UDAY’S GIRLFRIEND PHOTOGRAPHED WITH PIZZAGATE TRUTHER

The Hill reports, “Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle was photographed on July 4 with one of the major promoters of the Pizzagate conspiracy theory.” How patriotic! The Hill notes, “In a photo posted to Twitter on Wednesday, Guilfoyle poses alongside David Seaman as he makes an ‘OK’ hand gesture, a sign that has become associated with white nationalists. Seaman continues to promulgate false claims about the existence of a pedophilia ring being run out of a Washington, D.C., pizzeria by Democratic operatives.”   The Hill recalls, “Guilfoyle, who is reportedly dating President Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump, Jr., was visiting the Trump International Hotel in D.C. when Seaman approached her for a photo.” The Hill adds, “The dispelled Pizzagate theory from 2016 culminated in a gunman opening fire inside the restaurant. Other Pizzagate promoters, like conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, have since distanced themselves from the unfounded theory while Seaman has continued to promote Pizzagate on his Twitter page.” Naturally, “Seaman runs a conservative news outlet called Fulcrum News, where he regularly posts pro-Trump conspiracy theories.” Cool if you’re braindead.

ARMY DISCHARGING IMMIGRANT RECRUITS BECAUSE FAKE POTUS IS RACIST

The AP reports, “Some immigrant U.S. Army reservists and recruits who enlisted in the military with a promised path to citizenship are being abruptly discharged”. The AP adds, “The AP was unable to quantify how many men and women who enlisted through the special recruitment program have been booted from the Army, but immigration attorneys say they know of more than 40 who have been discharged or whose status has become questionable, jeopardizing their futures. ‘It was my dream to serve in the military,’ said reservist Lucas Calixto, a Brazilian immigrant who filed a lawsuit against the Army last week. ‘Since this country has been so good to me, I thought it was the least I could do to give back to my adopted country and serve in the United States military.’” Many immigrants in the military share this sentiment in these words exactly. However, the AP notes, “Some of the service members say they were not told why they were being discharged. Others who pressed for answers said the Army informed them they’d been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them.”

GERMAN AFD MP SUGGESTS A RUSKI OKTOBERFEST IN OCCUPIED DONETSK

Unian Information Agency reports, “Gunnar Lindemann, member of Berlin’s regional parliament from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has suggested that the Russian-led invaders hold an Oktoberfest beer festival in the [Russian] militant stronghold of Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian Member of Parliament, coordinator of the Information Resistance analytical group Dmytro Tymchuk says.” So gross. What is wrong with these people? Oh right, everything. Unian Information Agency adds, “‘Deputy of Berlin’s regional parliament, member of Alternative for Germany Party Gunnar Lindemann addressed the so-called “acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR [the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic”] N. Nikonorova with the proposal to organize in the first half of October an Oktoberfest beer festival in the temporarily occupied Donetsk,’ Tymchuk wrote on Facebook.”

SEO EFFORT UNDERWAY TO SCRUB WEB OF TRUMP’S RUSSIAN MOB TIES

The Daily Beast reports, “A mystery client has been paying bloggers in India and Indonesia to write articles distancing President Donald Trump from the legal travails of a mob-linked former business associate. Spokespeople for online reputation management companies in the two countries confirmed that they had been paid to write articles attempting to whitewash Trump’s ties to Felix Sater, a Russian-born businessman who, with former Russian trade minister Tevfik Arif, collaborated with the Trump Organization on numerous real estate deals from New York to the former Soviet Union.” The Daily Beast adds, “The campaign appears designed to influence Google search results pertaining to Trump’s relationship with Sater, Arif, and the Bayrock Group, a New York real estate firm that collaborated with Trump on a series of real estate deals, and recruited Russian investors for potential Trump deals in Moscow.” The Daily Beast notes, “Sater—who once had an office at New York’s Trump Tower, Trump Organization business cards, and claims to have worked as a senior adviser to Trump—has recently emerged as a key figure in the federal investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.” The Daily Beast adds, “Sater’s relationship with Trump and his family goes back much further. The Russian emigre has explored real estate deals in Moscow since the late ’80s. When the Trump Organization took interest, Sater was directly involved in their business efforts in the country, even accompanying Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. on a 2006 visit to Moscow at the request of the elder Trump. The elder Trump now says he doesn’t even remember Sater.” The Daily Beast continues, “In 2010, a one-time executive at Bayrock brought a lawsuit against the firm. ‘For most of its existence, [Bayrock] was substantially and covertly mob-owned and operated,’ the suit alleged. Bayrock and Sater denied the allegations, and the lawsuit—which at one point listed Trump and Ivanka as co-defendants—was settled in February. In the meantime, an attorney for the plaintiff in that suit had brought another lawsuit alleging tax fraud by Bayrock. That second suit, which was based on evidence suppressed by the judge during the first, was dismissed last year. That’s when someone began paying for blog posts about the case.” The Daily Beast notes, “a Pakistani blogger had been paid to write an article for the Huffington Post’s now-defunct contributor platform hailing the dismissal of the tax fraud case. That blogger, who went by the handle Waqas KH, said his client, whom he declined to name, had provided the text of the piece in full.” The Daily Beast writes, “The articles were published over an eight-month period, from September 2017 through June 2018.” The Daily Beast adds, “The article was written by Abhishek Chatterjee, who owns an Indian SEO business that offers to place articles on a network of 900 websites for $20 apiece.” The Daily Beast notes, “Another Indonesian SEO vendor, Ongky Firmansyah, said in an email that he had been paid to randomly insert the names ‘Tevfik Arif’ and ‘Tevfik Arif Doyen’ into articles on his website.”

TRUMP’S CAMPAIGN MANAGER BRAD PARSCALE PLAYS WITH NAZIS

The Forward reports, “President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale, had a friendly Twitter exchange on Tuesday with a social media network popular with white supremacists, urging it to create an iPhone app he could use.” The Forward adds, “‘I’m not against @getongab. Just get me an iPhone app,’ Brad Parscale said about the website Gab. ‘I am all for a @Twitter replacement. This platform is so left I need to balance myself right with an elephant. Pun intended.’” Isn’t that clever for a neo-Nazi cockroach? The Forward notes, “Gab, which does not remove hate speech or offensive content from its service, has become somewhat of an ‘alt-right’ Twitter. It currently does not have an iPhone app because Apple has claimed it contains ‘defamatory or mean-spirited content.’ Gab CEO Andrew Torba has claimed that Apple has rejected Gab ‘eight of nine times.’” The Forward adds, “Gab has not always been friendly to those in the political sphere: it banned white nationalist congressional candidate Paul Nehlen from the site in April after he revealed the secret identity of a prominent troll.”

The New York Times reports, “Ed Schultz, a former conservative radio show host whose politics moved left before he joined MSNBC’s nightly lineup in 2009 and then shifted again when he was hired by RT America, Russia’s state-financed international cable network, died on Thursday at his home in Washington. He was 64.” Like Philippe Pétain, his glory expired before he did. The New York Times notes, “His death was announced by [Russian state-run] RT America, which did not specify a cause.
